Our Weekend and Snow Day!!!

We had a great weekend and it got extended due to the snow we got last night, but more on that later. We took advantage of the pretty day and temps on Saturday to go eat at our favorite Saturday lunch place, Milford Track. Oh how we've missed it. It was wonderful as usual! When we were leaving, Addi did NOT want us to help her walk to the car. She could do it herself, thank you very much! It was cracking us up how she kept swatting Josh's hand away!

Josh had a speaker to go to after lunch, so me and Addi hit up several fabric stores. It was so funny that I ran into THREE different friends in the Hobby Lobby in North Little Rock! Our first friends we saw were Sara and Lola! I'm glad we ran into them, because Addi was done with being in the shopping cart. We let the girls run around the fabric section to let off some energy. It was so funny to watch them!

I also ran into Hillary again! Addi was throwing a fit because I would not let her down to run around anymore. I know, I'm a mean mommy. :) We didn't really do much the rest of the weekend, just enjoyed being together and being lazy! It was great!

On Sunday, I finally got brave and went to Kroger. The weather was calling for lots of snow that night and we were out of a lot of things. I always think it's nice to have a good soup or chili on a snowy day so I needed to get things for that too. Kroger was MADNESS. Oh my word, I could not have gotten out of there fast enough! I swung by Panera on my way home and got us lunch and bagels for Monday morning. It started snowing around 3 and really picked up around 5. It was still snowing when we went to bed, and several cars were abandoned outside our house. We had chili and cornbread for supper and it was so good. I'm going to post the recipe on my cooking blog later.

We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland. After our breakfast of bagels, we got Addi all bundled up and went outside to play! I felt bad because Addi didn't really have any snow gear, so this is the best we could do. Just know, she has four layers on underneath that raincoat!

Addi just didn't know what to think of the snow. She just really was content to walk around in it and she even cried when we went inside. She's part Yankee so I guess she can acclimate to colder temps. Ha!

Dixie however LOVED being in the snow. She turned into a wild woman and was just running all around.

When we got in and got warm again, we tried out an idea I saw over the weekend. It's called Muffin Tin Monday, and basically you just put your child's lunch in a muffin tin. It was such a cute idea, we had to try it.

This was Addi's lunch, it looks like a ton of food, but she ate all of it minus about three tins.

She went to the pepperoni first, then dipped it in the yogurt. Ew.

It was a successful lunch and will become a tradition every Monday! For the rest of the day, we stayed in our pj's and watched UP. I was weeping through several parts of that movie, but we both agreed in saying it was very good. Addi didn't want to nap, so she watched it with us. Josh made crepes for dessert and he wanted me to take pictures so I could post them over on my recipe blog, so I will have two posts coming soon! Ha!

Addi was just "working" tonight moving these boots from room to room. She is so funny.

Addi capped off the night by sitting in her comfy chair and watching Ratatouille. We love snow days. :)

A Few Things

Hi everyone! Hope y'all are having/had a great weekend! It is snowing here and I couldn't be more excited!!! Addi is napping right now, but when she wakes up, we are going to bundle up and go play in the snow! They are calling for 6 inches in some parts! I've got chili and cornbread to make tonight for dinner. So yum.

Anyways, I've been meaning to blog about these things for awhile, but just never had, so I thought this lazy Sunday afternoon would be a great time.

1. One of my blog friends, Taylor, opened an Etsy shop with homemade candles. I ordered Fresh Baked Pie Crust and Butter Cookies. Oh my word, these might be my favorite candles. They smell just like their description and they are good and strong so you only need to light one to smell your house. Go here to http://www.etsy.com/shop/babylovebowtique and order one! She also makes Scentsy cubes if you have one of those! She started making these to help with the cost of her chemo. She has an amazing spirit and I just love reading about her and her sweet family.

2. As many of you know, I work with the Ronald McDonald House with their events committee. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the RMH and all the good work they do. If you live in the Little Rock area, the 2011 Chocolate Ball is coming up! It is going to be held February 12, at the Peabody. There will be music, dancing, food and drinks, a live auction plus a silent auction, and of course....piles and piles of CHOCOLATE. Email me for details!

3. A couple of weekends ago we were in Searcy at Scott and Jeanette's. Josh's aunt and uncle and cousins from New York were in town visiting so we went and had dinner. At one point during the night, I looked around for Addi and I saw Scott standing by the doorway of the bathroom just looking in. I immediately knew Addi was getting into something.

What cracked me up the most was this next picture.

All the men thought it was so cute, they needed to take pictures. Ha!

4. A few weeks ago we had lunch with some of Josh's co-workers and her son. Addi loved David and they kept giving each other hugs. It was so sweet!

5. This was a Christmas gift I got from Josh's grandma. I'm not sure exactly how she makes them, but she does MANY designs and she uses a drill bit. Whatever she does, I LOVE it!!!

6. Can't end a post without a smiley Addi pic.

Hope y'all have a great weekend! I'll be back to blog about ours soon!

Fun Friday

Today was such a great day despite having little sleep the night before. I had stayed up late sewing and didn't get in bed till around 2 and then Addi woke up around 4 to play and didn't go back down till about 6. I was pretty worn out! We did get to meet a fun blogger, Hillary for lunch today! She is pregnant with a precious baby girl named Sadie. I just love that name! I was SO embarrassed because I forgot my wallet at home. And might I mention that was the second time this week I have forgotten it at home. I had taken it out of the diaper bag last night when I went to Hobby Lobby and just totally forgot to put it back in the bag. Thank you so much Hillary for saving us from washing dishes! Haha! I hope we can do it again soon, and this time I will TRY and remember important things like my wallet. :)

After lunch, Addi and I had a little photo shoot. She looked so precious in her little outfit, I just had to get a few pictures.

I tried to get a picture of me and Addi, but I couldn't get her to look at the camera. Ha!

Addi was being so bossy with Dixie this afternoon. We had a guy from Comcast out in our yard that was trying to fix the cable and Dixie kept barking at him. I kept saying "Hush Dixie!" and then Addi would kinda pat her and say, "No DiDi!" It was so funny!

Tonight for dinner, we went to Hanaroo. Josh was craving sushi and I was really wanting their teriyaki chicken. Seriously, it is the best in Little Rock. Josh wanted me to take a picture of his food. Haha!

After dinner, I cleaned for a little while, it was MUCH needed. And I also found out I made my first sale tonight!!! I am BEYOND excited and Josh is so proud! Haha!

Hope y'all had a great day!

Addi-15 Months

I'm a little late on this one, but better late than never!

Addi you are 15 months old!!! What are you up to?

You are really coming into your personality these days! You love attention, and will get SO excited if we start clapping for you! You love to make people laugh!

You are also a mischievous little girl too! When you know your not supposed to be doing something, you will get this little grin on your face and it cracks us up! It looks a lot like this.

You have also started to be a little more shy when you are around new people. It takes you 5-10 minutes to warm up, then you are all over the place, but in the beginning you cling to me.

One of your most favorite things right now is this little character on TV called Warehouse Mouse. We were watching the Disney Channel one morning and Addi just stopped in her tracks and started laughing. She was laughing at this little guy. He doesn't talk, he just mumbles and falls a lot. I took a video today of her watching him, it's really cute.

Your second favorite things are books. You LOVE books and you are just content to sit and "read" your books for long periods of time. If I try to read them to you, you usually grab it back and shake your head no. :(

You love Dixie and you are always trying to pet her and feed her. Tonight, you tried to feed her a piece of wood which was hilarious.

You still love fruit and are becoming more adventurous in eating new things. I was so proud of you tonight because I made chicken enchilada soup and I got you a little bowl (sans liquid) to try. You definitely tried it, several times in fact, but it made you gag. Haha, but I'm proud of you for trying!

I am enjoying this age so much right now!

Addi we love you so much little peanut! We are so blessed to be your parents and we love watching you grow!

Un-Resolutions

So I got a little ambitious when I made EIGHT resolutions. I even broke the cardinal rule of "don't make a resolution for something you have to do every day." Well, we are four days into 2011 and I would like to revise my resolutions. I can do that, it's my blog. :) So, while my "resolutions" are great goals and admirable things to achieve, I'm going to just strive to get as close to something resembling these goals as possible. It's just less stressful that way. Although, the making Addi eat healthier is going a lot better than I thought it would! Last night, I made a healthy spaghetti bake. I got the recipe off Ashley's blog and it was a huge hit! I was so surprised Addi ate it, because it was a little spicy from all the red pepper I added, but she loved it! She hated the noodles though, I think she has texture issues with pasta and rice. I've come to find Addi will try a bite of almost anything (as long as it's not green) it's just getting her to eat more that's the trick!

Here is the little stinker in action today. We stayed in ALL DAY. It was SO nice.

Addi is very particular about how she sits in her chair. First, she LOATHES that sock monkey. No clue why, it is so cute!!! So she will throw the monkey off the chair, take the cushion off, grab two books, then she will finally sit down. She is so silly.

Oh and here is her time out chair. We haven't used it yet, but I have a feeling the day is approaching.

Oh and here is Addi's little Valentine's Day shirt I finished last night. I can't wait for her to wear it!

And tonight is the game we have waited for....The Sugar Bowl. My facebook and twitter is blowing up with game plays and cheers. Although, right now I am watching Demolition Man (it's secretly one of my fav movies) because the game is too stressful right now!!! But, I know the Hogs can do it!!!

Hope y'all had a great day!!!

Our Weekend!

Hey everyone! I have been looking forward to this day for a long time. I'll tell you why. First, I knew this would be the day that my house would be clean and free of Christmas decorations. I also knew this would be the start of a week with NOTHING on the calender except for a lunch date with a fun blogger who I can't wait to meet! I don't know why I felt so ready to get the decorations out this year, but it feels so nice to have the house back in order! I guess since Christmas was extra crazy this year, I was just living for this day when I knew it would be back to normal. Gosh, makes me sound like a total Grinch. Haha!

Anyways, so we had a very relaxing Saturday. Addi has been on a weird schedule, so she's been sleeping till 11 or noon on somedays, so we got to sleep in, which was wonderful. Then we went to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings with some friends. While Addi napped that afternoon, I played with my new monogram machine!!! I am seriously in love y'all. I've had to stop myself from trying to monogram EVERYTHING of Addi's! Here is just a couple of things so far.

I also created an Etsy store and a new blog for all my designs. I have several applique designs for Valentine's Day and I am SOOO excited about the spring and Easter stuff I'm making too. I plan on showing y'all that around February. So, if any of you need a cute little Valentine's shirt for your little one, hop on over to my store! That sounds so weird saying that! Haha!

Anyways, so Saturday night we went to dinner with some of our friends, then came back to the house and watched a movie. We picked The Other Guys. It has Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Not the best movie those two have ever made, but it did have some funny parts. Sunday, we took down Christmas decorations and cleaned mostly! It was a great day!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!
