Organizing and Cleaning

Two of the most boring words ever, right? I don't think so! If you have been on twitter lately, or read some of the blogs, everyone is going nuts over these things called Life Planners. They are super cute and customizable planners from Erin Condren. I had already bought my planner when these started getting lots of hype, but I think mine works just as well. I only use the planner to write down events on the calender so I can use it as a quick reference. What I'm really obsessed with is my home organization binder. (Seriously, you can stop reading here if your already bored to tears. It ain't gonna get much better!) I saw this on another blog and then it kept popping up on Pinterest. I knew I needed something to keep track of every little thing, and it really helps if I have lists to mark off.

My binder consists of a little planning notebook that was made for teachers, but I use it for Addi. I write down at least two special activities to do each day and then what I'm going to serve her for meals. She is such a picky eater and so I've been finding lots of toddler friendly recipes to put in there. One of our activities this week included a sensory box.

You just fill a tub with dried beans, throw in some measuring cups, bowls, kitchen utensils and let them go to work! Addi loved this activity and played with this box for at least 45 minutes...quietly. It was fun to watch her fill up all the different containers using different tools. You can really see their little minds working.

The other pages in my binder consist a daily routines checklist that is divided into morning and night, a menu plan with shopping list, and a daily planner. I write down what I have to do that day, who I need to call, playdates, appointments. It's just a good way to keep everything together.

I get my printable lists from here: Organized Home

I also found little cleaning schedule cards that I'm going to start using. Normally, I just do all my cleaning on Sunday, but I think it would be better to break it up throughout the week.

This week has been pretty hectic, but I can tell my binder has helped a lot! Hope these ideas help some of you too! :)
