Randoms and a Snow Day

I guess I should title this post, Random Snow Day instead, because that's kinda what happened. All of a sudden, we were enjoying 70 degree temps, then boom. Unexpected snow day! And let me tell you, people FREAKED OUT. Yes, the roads were bad because it sleeted too, but I think the town of Little Rock has some post traumatic issues from our last big snow. People started leaving work to go home and pretty soon the interstates were gridlocked and it took people 3 hours to get home. Yikes. It was pretty while it was coming down though!
I kept Addi home from school and we enjoyed a lazy day at home. It was super nice.
This is as far outside as I ventured. It was COLD.
In between watching cars get stuck outside, we read some books. Josh didn't have any trouble coming home that night. And I don't think anyone lost power! Yay!
Later that week, we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house! While Fran and I worked on some things, Addi and Grandpa played dress up. :)
I am in LOVE with these fabrics. The top three are Rhett's crib bedding fabrics, and the bottom assortment are the fabrics that will make up Addi's quilt for her big girl bed. I wanted something bright and whimsical for her. I think I'm going to paint her room a shade of blue too. I can't wait to see both rooms done! Eeek!
And just for laughs, this is how I get Addi out of bed every morning. She grabs all of her "buddies" and we go lay in the big bed till she's nice and woken up. She cracks me up. :)

Catch up

I need to do a better job about keeping up with posts! Ah! Here is just a random assortment of what we've been up to lately...

Rhett's closet is steadily growing. I'm having so much fun creating little boy things!
Addi loves when we lay in bed in the mornings with the "big phone."
 Little sweetheart.

We had fondue with friends one night. Delicious.
More boy things and some things for Addi too.
This was one morning that Addi woke up SUPER early.
 Headed to church.
One of Addi's Christmas gifts was a princess songs CD. On "part of your world" we aren't allowed to sing, that's her solo time.
One night she wanted to talk to Santa again. So I had to find that video I created for her and she got super excited again about Santa.
We left our Christmas decor up for the longest ever. I usually want to take it all down the day after, but we were traveling and I've had a lot of weird pregnancy things going on so it didn't get done till last week.
 We've been playing alot.
 Addi LOVES this crocodile hats.
 Lunch date with Daddy!
 So cute.
Addi wanted to bake one night. Couldn't say no to that!
We found a little gymnastics place that lets you pay $5 and you get free play for an hour. It was something fun to do on a rainy day and Addi loved it!

Josh and I had a date night.
 Snowflake art.
 Cinderella face.

 Sleepy baby.
I am 29 weeks along. Getting HUGE. :) Rhett is so strong. When he kicks or moves it literally hurts. During church he was going crazy and I was trying not to come unglued. I'm so excited to meet him. We ordered Addi's new furniture last week and I ordered crib bedding fabric last night. I'm excited to get to work on the nursery. I'm pretty sure at this point I already had Addi's room done. Ha! He will sleep in our room in the beginning so I'm not too worried.
Celebrating Nancy's birthday. She had this at a dance studio and Addi has been talking about going back to dance class. Haha!

I put foam rollers in her hair last night. She didn't want to wait until they were dry to take them out, but she sure looked adorable in them!

New Year's Eve

We went over to Treece's parents house for NYE this year. We brought a big pot of gumbo and played games and visited with friends all night. It was so much fun and the kids did great!

Christmas in Texarkana

Not a lot of words on this one! It was a great time as usual. :)

Our Snow Day

So when I last left off, we had our White Christmas. I had no idea we would wake up to 10 inches the next morning. I've never seen so much snow here! Most of Little Rock's power got knocked out so we had some friends staying with us. All the grocery stores were closed and since it was Christmas and we were traveling so much, I hadn't been grocery shopping in awhile. It was interesting trying to come up with things to eat! Josh went and got frozen pizzas at Walgreens (the only store open), but we were out of milk and every other essential. We also tried to make eggless pancakes, and they were pretty gross. Everyone else seemed to like them though. Haha!

Addi wanted to go out and play immediately! She also wanted Josh to build a snowman. For some reason, she thinks he is scared of snowmen?? Everytime we pass one of the inflatable ones, she says, "oh no Daddy, a snowman!!" and Josh pretends to be scared. I have no idea where she got it.
Belle had a BLAST playing in the snow with Rocky!

All of the trees were droopy from all the snow.

Poor Dixie was trying to catch up with the others. Haha!

Josh kept trying to put branches on the snowman for it's arms, but Belle and Rocky would grab them and run off. It was hilarious.

Addi loved having Rocky (aka Patches or Roxie) and Grandpa Taz over.
For the rest of the time, we stayed warm and Addi played with all her new Christmas toys! It was so much fun and I'm really glad we never lost power!!
