Addi-14 Months

Addi you are 14 months old! I can't believe how big your getting and what a personality you have! You are always making us laugh with the silly things you do.

Your favorite things right now are:

The Iphone. Oh my word, you will squeeze your fists and shake if I try to take it from you. You love to play the peekaboo games and you pretend to talk on it too, it makes us laugh to hear you babbling on and on.

Your cow. You have to have this when you go to sleep. I need to take a picture of it, but it's just your standard stuffed cow.

You love to "work." You will stack, unstack, load, unload, empty and refill almost anything. Examples: tupperware, we have a cabinet full of preserves and the diaper bag are your favorites. It's hilarious because you are so intent and you will just do your little task for SOOO long.

You are a little daredevil and it makes you so happy when we swing you up and around and throw you on the bed. You laugh SOO hard!

You really like chairs. We are getting you a princess chair for Christmas, because anytime your over at someone's house who has a little chair, you sit there the entire time.

You are walking more I'm proud to say! You still will not walk on command and you will sit down if you think we are trying to get you to walk. Your very sneaky. We have seen you walking and as soon as we start to praise you, you sit down. Oh me. Today though, you took 6 steps! I think you'll be walking more very soon!

You have also started repeating words. They don't always sound very clear, but it always surprises us when you say things back. Funniest/sweetest examples: baboon and I love you.

Addi we love you so much!!! You are the light of our lives and we are blessed to call you our daughter.

The Ultimate Tailgate

So this weekend, the Hogs had a big match-up against LSU. LSU is my least favorite team in the SEC and their fans are so obnoxious. One of Scott's friends had this sweet RV(yes RV's are sweet) so they decided to do the ultimate tailgate. They got set up in the RV tailgating section close to the game. We were right in the middle of Tiger country though! There were tons of LSU fans around us! Anyways, so they smoked a brisket, we had leftover fried turkey, Scott grilled hamburgers and brats and I brought brownie pillow cookies and a dip. There was so much food. I was still full from all of our Thanksgivings, but it was so good!!!

Addi enjoyed the oreos very much!

She was cracking us up with these sunglasses.

Friday night, despite being WORN out from getting up at 4:30 for Black Friday, I decorated our house for Christmas!!! I just couldn't wait any longer. These are just some of the tubs with all our decorations. Overboard much?

Addi woke up about 11:30 and I nearly cried. I had just finished decorating and all I wanted to do was lay down, but she had other plans! So we stayed up for a little longer and played. Addi has been walking a lot more, just not consistently. On Thanksgiving she was walking and carrying a tray, but as soon as we looked at her she sat down. Oh me.

Luckily, Addi was easy to put down after playing and she slept till....11 the next morning!!! She must have known that I needed sleep badly! Haha! We got ready and headed to tailgate central!

I was so glad to see all these girls!!!

I got this pic from Tamra's blog, but it cracks me up!!!

That night it got a little cold so I was glad I dressed Addi in her hog sweatsuit! She is so busy, she just kept stacking things or emptying stuff and putting it back in boxes, it was cracking us up.

I am proud to say that the Hogs WON!!! We were so excited!!! That means we are going to the Sugar Bowl!!! :)

Oh and I have some cute pics of Addi from today after church...and Addi got to meet Santa for the first time this afternoon!!! She liked him a lot!

Sorry for the picture overload! Hope y'all had a great weekend!!!

Thanksgiving 2010

I love Thanksgiving!!! We had a busy two days making the rounds, but we did it and we are stuffed!!! We started our holiday Wednesday night at my Mimi and Uncle Dennis'. We had a smoked pork butt, dressing, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, green bean bundles and parker house rolls. Oh my word. I hadn't eaten all day so by the time Josh had sat down with his plate I was already done and going back for seconds. Haha! This wasn't such a great idea, because five minutes later I had a tummy ache. It didn't stop me from eating some dessert though!

Addi wore her turkey shirt to be festive.

We had a great time visiting and eating.

Addi also got some serious air time!

Josh drove home that night thankfully, because I was so full it hurt! Haha! On Thursday morning, it was like 67 degrees when we left Little Rock. When we got to Jonesboro, it was 47!!! It ended up getting super cold that day, which was great! At our other Thanksgiving, we had a brisket, two turkeys, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, green bean bundles, dressing, and rolls. I had filled my plate with sides and then realized there was still meat to go. Needless to say, I went back for seconds...again. When will I learn!? Haha! Addi was a little stinker at lunch, because she was so tired but refused to nap. She wouldn't let anyone hold her but me and Josh or Adam or my cousin Peyton...who is 8!

Addi took a lonnnng nap in the car and woke up in a much better mood! Her favorite thing right now is to talk on phones, so she had a blast with this one!

After dinner, we headed to Scott and J's to take their Christmas card pic! We all wore matching camo pj's. It turned out really cute!

Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving!!!

A Sad Day

So I wanted to let y'all know that yesterday Dixie had her puppy. She did so great and I was so proud of her! For the first part of labor she did not want me near her! She got underneath the downstairs couch (not the place I had created for her) and labored there for about an hour. I kept checking on her to make sure she was okay and noticed she had started to push. The next time I came downstairs she had gone to the bathroom where I had set up the towels and stuff! I noticed that the head had started to come out. She let me near her during the last pushing and she was laying down and I was cradling her little head and petting her. I had called Josh to come help, because Addi was still not asleep and I was afraid of something happening and having to deal with Addi and Dixie. Josh came in right after the puppy was born and Dixie did exactly what she was supposed to do, she started biting the membrane off the puppy and bit the umbilical cord. Unfortunately, the puppy was a stillborn. :( Josh worked for 15 minutes on that little thing trying so hard to start it's little heart. It was AWFUL. We decided that there was nothing more we could do so we let Dixie say goodbye to her little puppy. She just kept licking it, trying to wake it up. It was heartbreaking. I was bawling. So, we took the puppy away and got Dixie cleaned up. The puppy was huge and we think that maybe in the last week or couple of days, it had died due to lack of oxygen. Anyways, so Dixie has been under our bed since it happened and growls at us anytime we get near her. She has come out a handful of times for food, but that's it. I don't know if she's hurting or if she's sad, but I feel terrible for her. It was just an emotional day! I do have to say, I have some of the best and most thoughtful friends. I got so many texts of condolences and asking how Dixie was, it was very sweet. :) Hoping Dixie starts to feel more like herself soon!!!

Weekend Recap!

Hey everyone! I feel like I say this every weekend, but we had a pretty busy one! I love this time of year, and I love staying busy, but I'll be ready for a break come January I'm sure! So, Friday, me and Addi had a girl's night, because Josh was leading his department retreat and needed to go ahead and go to Searcy and get ready for it. I wasn't feeling well, and I really needed to sleep so we decided to stay behind and head up in the morning. I didn't sleep well and it had nothing to do with Addi! She slept from 7:30-10:00!!! I tossed and turned all night just feeling blah. I don't know what the deal was! Anyways, so we headed to Searcy and hung out with some of the people in Josh's department, plus J and the kids. Addi LOVES Ashton and had so much fun playing with her.

After it was evident that Addi would not be taking a nap in her pack and play, we headed up to the river house!

We had a lot of fun out there, but Addi was being such a mess and kept trying to climb up the stairs. Fun for her, scary for everyone else!!! Luckily, she had some little friends to play with so they kept her distracted at least some of the time.

Saturday night, we came back to Little Rock because I was terrified Dixie was having her babies in the middle of my bed. She wasn't. But, for some reason, our heater was having a lot of trouble. I was getting extremely frustrated because it eventually got so cold it woke Addi up. I put a space heater in her room and that seemed to help. We took a long nap this morning and when Josh got home, Addi had her first oreo. She LOVED it!

And tonight, Addi was very adamant about wearing my glasses around! She looked so funny.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!! I can't wait for Thanksgiving!!!
