Mish Mash Tuesday

First, I just have to say, we are going on night 2 of Addi waking up at a very early hour, screaming about bugs. I think she's been having nightmares about them, but Monday she woke up at about 5:30 and we just got up for the day, and then today she woke up at 3:30, and after an hour went back down. I just feel so sorry for her, because I think she has inherited my obsessiveness about fears. And I really did not want that to happen. She is terrified of bugs, yet wants to know more about them and once she actually sees a bug, she will keep bringing it up. Poor thing.

Anyways, so yesterday I broke out the Christmas activities. We had been up for a couple hours already and I could tell Addi was getting bored. I got these little window sticker thingies at Target for like $1 and that was the best $1 ever spent! She played with these for hours.

It was so cold here yesterday! Parts of Northeast Arkansas saw a lot of snow. We are also on day 4 of Christmas outfits. Josh asked if I was going to start wearing Christmas sweaters to match Addi. Wouldn't that be cute?!?! Haha.

Today, we went to Rock Creek with our playgroup pals. Addi was in a weird mood and was really serious the whole time. It wasn't until we were leaving that she let loose and ran like a crazy person.

I took her out to lunch at Jason's Deli afterwards and lately she's been so good in restaurants. I'm glad we are finally turning a corner in this department, because for awhile it was near impossible.

Oh and here is a easy and good recipe for your slow cooker! It's called Crock Pot Cream Cheese Chicken Chili and we served it over rice. The recipe came from here.

Hope y'all had a great day!

Our Weekend

I don't have a lot to say about this weekend, but I do have a lot of pictures! On Friday, the Razorbacks lost and that was a bummer. Saturday, it rained quite a bit, which made for a nice lazy day, but we were sad that the tree lighting ceremony we were going to got cancelled. Today, we enjoyed church and having brunch at a new spot we LOVE. It's called B-Side. It's right by Lilly's Dim Sum on Rodney Parham. So good and the waitstaff make you feel so welcome and at home. I got something called a biscuit mountain. It was as good as it sounds! It was two homemade biscuits (BUTTERED) then topped with hashbrowns, sausage and then sausage gravy and on top of that was two fried eggs. I didn't eat the eggs or much of the sausage, but the rest was SOOO good. It might be our go to after church place from now on. I told Josh next time, I'm getting chicken and waffles. :)

This little stinker has been loving having the Christmas trees up. She is finally understanding a little better that we don't take ornaments off the tree. :) For the record, I've shattered as many as she has.
She sure does love standing in front of the tree, which makes for a cute picture!
Saturday night, Love Actually was on, and I sat on the couch, in the glow of the Christmas tree and watched it. SO nice even though I had 100 things to be doing instead.
Addi has turned into a little momma overnight. She has always loved baby dolls, but the past few days she has been carrying them around, changing their diapers, talking to them, swinging them around. It's so cute to watch her.
Kyle's sweet parents sent Addi a belated birthday gift. We were a little wary since it was an Eric Carle book about a spider, but she loved it.
Another tree pic! Love her face!
More baby love.
Changing the diaper. She talks to them the whole time too. I need to catch it on video.
Oh and random, but have y'all smelled this scent from B&BW? I went on Black Friday after all the madness and got 4 candles, a wallflower refill and a body wash for $26. I had coupons and they were doing big sales. I was pretty proud of the savings. :) But anyways, this is such a nice and relaxing smell!
So, that was our weekend in a nutshell. Sounds pretty boring, but it was very nice. :) Hope y'all had a good one!

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving has officially come and gone. And it was a SUCCESS. We ate LOTS and lots and spent time with family and laughed and had a great time. This is the first year in awhile that I'm not doing Black Friday and for that, I am thankful. This year, we are way ahead of where we usually are in the "game" and I didn't see any deals that grabbed me, so right now instead of braving the cold and crazy people, I am cozy and in bed blogging. :)

Here is my little turkey this past Tuesday. Addi's Lila came to help me set up all my Christmas decorations so I wouldn't have a full blown panic attack. Haha. I wish I was kidding, but I start going crazy if stuff isn't in it's place.

This is our living room tree. Yes, somehow I have convinced Josh to let us have 4 trees. This tree and Addi's tree are my favorites.

Last night, we went to Josh's dad's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone in his family is/was out of town for actual Thanksgiving Day, so we had it last night. It did not disappoint!

Addi had a cute pumpkin pie shirt that I wanted to put her in, but I forgot it. :(

Today, we traveled to Jonesboro for my family's Thanksgiving. Talk about a spread! Honeybaked Ham, mashed potatoes, chicken and dressing, green bean bundles, corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, broccoli and cheese casserole, mac and cheese, parker house rolls, pecan pie, mr.bird cake, chocolate pie, and lemon meringue pie. SOOOOOO good. By far, the best meal of the year! I had leftovers for dinner and late night snack. :)

The dogs were so happy when we got home tonight. I decided to make some peppermint chocolate cookies and Treece and I watched the Holiday. Addi sang some songs from Tangled to keep us entertained. :)

I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving and to those brave souls doing Black Friday...GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving Fun

I thought this little Thanksgiving survey would be fun.

Question 1: Where do you celebrate Thanksgiving?
Growing up, we always went to both grandparent's house. One for lunch and one for dinner. The past few years we've had three Thanksgivings to go to, but this year will be the first time we are just doing my family's house.

Question 2: Who do you celebrate it with?
Aunts, uncles, my grandma, cousins. There is a lot of us!

Question 3: Who is the troublemaker of the group?
Growing up, my cousin Blake. :)

Question 4: Fancy to-do or casual get-together?
Fancy casual. You have to wear something that isn't constricting, but everyone looks cute.

Question 5: What is the topic of conversation to AVOID at the Thanksgiving table?
Politics. Always.

Question 6: What dish do you make for the occasion?
I always make chocolate pie. I have requests for it every year. :)

Question 7: What dish do you look forward to the most?
Fried turkey!!! My cousin injects it with a cajun marinade and it is delectable!

Question 8: Pumpkin pie or pecan pie?
Both!

Question 9: What are the post-dinner activities?
Sitting, watching football, playing games.

Question 10: What you most Thankful for this year?
I’m thankful for family, friends and the razorbacks being #3. :)

Since I've Been Gone and Why I love the Internet

Heyyyy blog friends! Sorry for the mega deep post and then bailing for a few days, alright close to a week. To say things have been crazy here would be an understatement. We live in crazy. Crazy is our new home. Is it sad I'm wishing for our first snow day already? Haha! I just would like a day for all of us to stay home and VEG out. By the way I dress everyday (read: yoga pants and tshirts) you would think I do that already, but I just like to be comfy when I'm busy. :) Momma needs a makeover in a bad way though. For reals. That's another post for another time. I gotta get to what we've been up to the past week.

The weather here has been hot and cold, quite literally. Some days it's warm and some days it's freezing. On one of the milder days, we played outside for awhile. It felt good to be back there again without wondering if I would die from mosquito bites.

One night for dinner, one of the night's I actually cooked and didn't beg Josh to bring something home, because my fragile nerves couldn't take the stress of cooking, I made homemade chicken alfredo. With heavy cream, butter and Parmesan. It was GOOD. And so bad for us.

Let's talk this weekend. Specifically, football. I cannot believe the Hogs are number 3 right now. It's just too much for me to handle. I don't remember in my lifetime, the Hogs ever being ranked this high. And....we battle LSU Friday. Everytime I think about it, I want to throw up a little bit. I'm SO nervous for this game. LSU is my least favorite team, EVER, and if we beat them we go to the National Championship. This is CRAZY!!!! I'm going to be a ball of nerves on Friday. Ahh!!! Also, one of our players died Sunday. I am so heartbroken for his family. Please pray for them, I can't imagine what they are going through right now. SO sad.

This is what Addi thinks of the Hogs being ranked #3!
Before the game, we went to Old Navy, because a twitter friend told me about them having all outerwear 75% off! Too bad everything was picked over. We did stop and play with some precious puppies outside of Petco.Earlier this week, Addi got a belated birthday card full of stickers. She loves her some stickers.Dixie usually sleeps at the foot of our bed or curled up on Josh's side, but last night, she got right in between us and under the covers and stayed there most of the night. It cracked me up.Have y'all tried this??? I used to have a Tassimo, and my mother in law and I were crazy over the Starbucks pods, but then they discontinued them. We both have Keurigs now and I was thrilled to find these.

Let's talk about reasons why I love the internet. Have you heard of Klout? You get points by influencing others in topics such as, blogging, parenting, or teeth strangely enough. I didn't really know much about it, but I found out I had enough points to get a Klout Perk. I was pretty skeptical until this arrived in the mail today.
A legit $25 american express gift card. Josh read the fine print, because y'all know that man is not going to believe someone is just sending his wife free money, but it's real! And I'm giddy about it! Haha!
Also, this arrived in the mail today...my very own Erin Condren Life Planner. I know I'm way behind on this, but I had a credit for the EC store so I decided to get a planner. I wasn't sure it would live up to all the hype, but it exceeded my expectations. Just look at how pretty the BOX was that it came in.
I haven't actually written in it yet, because ya know I have to get special pens. :) And I'm kinda nervous to write in it because it's so pretty. But, I really love it.

Can y'all believe it's Thanksgiving week?! I sure can't. I am looking forward to spending time with family and stuffing ourselves. :)

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!!
