Halloween!!!

This weekend has been crazy! We have packed in so many fun things in one weekend, I think we are all exhausted!

Friday:
We went to a Halloween play date with our playgroup! Addi was last minute cheerleader? I really don't know, I hadn't finished her ladybug tutu and I found that jersey that was Emma's and the cute little leggings. I thought she was pretty adorable!

Addi discovered this car and stayed in in the entire play date. I think I know what she's getting for Christmas!!!

Addi is trying to talk Lily into letting her push her in the car.

Sweet birthday girl Lily.

I'm telling y'all she was in this the whole time!

Sweet Harper!

When we got home, I gave Addi a Halloween cupcake. She wasn't really into it, but she thought it was hilarious to let preggers lick her fingers.

Addi and I had a girl's night on Friday evening. Josh was out with the guys so we stayed in and watched Nemo and went to bed embarrassingly early.

Addi stood a lot by herself and even picked up things and stood with them. Just walk already Addi! :)

Saturday:
We went to lunch at Milford Track! We have missed this place!

Addi got a really yummy fruit cup. She's so healthy! I'm trying to give her cupcakes, but all she wants is fruit!

We went to Searcy after lunch and got ready for our Halloween party. Addi LOVED talking on this phone. It was hilarious! Fran babysat her Saturday night for us, and she said the phone rang and she heard Addi over the monitor go "hello?" Hilarious!!!

She loves Libby!

Sunday:
Lily's Birthday Party!!! Michelle had the cutest Halloween decorations and crafts. Everything was absolutely perfect!!! Again, Addi was supposed to be a ladybug, but I forgot to wash her black undershirt and totally left the wings I was going to borrow in Searcy. I'm losing my brain!!!

After the party, we met up with Josh's family and went to Five Guys for a quick dinner. So yum!

Then we took all the kids trick or treating! Addi had a great time just walking around the neighborhood. We decided to head home kinda early since we were all pretty tired. I vowed next year that Addi would actually have a real costume! Haha!

Hope y'all had a great Halloween!!!

Boo at the Zoo!!!

Tonight, we took Addi to Boo at the Zoo! This was the first time we've ever been, and we had a great time! I got Addi dressed up in one of her Halloween outfits and we took some pictures before we left. We went and picked up Josh from work and then went and got dinner at Maddie's Place. Oh so good!

When we got there Addi was just mesmerized by everything that was going on. She loved looking at all the lights and kids in costumes! Next year I will for sure make her wear a costume! There were so many people there it was kinda crazy!

We got a punch card and plastic bags when we first got there to trick or treat at all the booths set up. We got a ton of candy, me and Josh were a little excited!

They also had a tent set up with a DJ playing music and tons of kids were dancing. There was a mini Michael Jackson that was doing hilarious dance moves. So funny!

I wish I would have taken a picture, but despite having already eaten dinner, me and Josh succumbed to some glorious fair food. They had a midway set up with corndogs, funnel cakes, and things of similar fried goodness. We split a corndog and a funnel cake. SOOOO good!!!!

When we got home, we divided up the candy. Josh immediately organized his into neat little groups.

My pile. No organization. The other day I noticed that Addi had lined three of her little magnets up. I just held my breath and watched her and though, is she going to be like her Daddy and love things in order and in correct places? But then she threw one of them and scattered the other two. I smiled a little and thought, maybe she'll be like me!

Oh and in other news....Dixie....might be......

PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!

Yes! When Dixie went and stayed at Skipper's during Addi's birthday party, she was in heat. I thought Beckett, their miniature schnauzer was fixed, but he's not! Dixie has gained a couple of pounds, her belly is super tight, her nippies are getting huge and swollen, and I swore I felt something moving in her belly last night! Gestation for dogs is 2 months, so we've got one more month and we shall see! We might have some sneek a poos (Josh's word) or schnauza poos (my word). Haha!

Hope y'all had a great day!

Welcome to the World Cade!!!

This evening, Cade Mason Venable came into the world!!! Congrats Whitney, Andrew and Eden!!! I can't wait to meet him!

Chocolate!!!

Better late than never! Here is my Southern Blogger Momma's post on...CHOCOLATE. I have never met anyone that doesn't like some form of chocolate. It is the absolute best. It comforts you after a tough day, it makes a celebration come to life, and it's your best friend when your watching a chick flick with the girls. This is my post dedicated to our best friend...chocolate.

My go to chocolate recipe is actually chocolate pie with chocolate whipped cream. I get asked to make this pie at nearly every family gathering, for birthdays, or when someone has a craving.
I just use a store bought pie crust. I've never attempted to make my own pie crust, but Josh said if I ever want to throw down with Bobby Flay, I've got to learn.

Ingredients:
1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together egg yolks and sugar. Mix in cornstarch, cocoa powder, and salt. Add milk and stir gently.
Pour mixture into a large saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until boiling. Remove from heat. Stir in butter or margarine and vanilla extract. Cool slightly, then pour mixture into pastry shell. Chill before serving. Top with chocolate whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Chocolate Whipped Cream

Ingredients:

1 pint whipping cream
1/2 hershey's chocolate bar-grated
3 tablespoons powdered sugar or to taste

Directions:

whip all the ingredients on high until the whipped cream develops medium peaks.

Hope y'all enjoyed this weeks recipe!!! Next week I will be talking about my favorite Thanksgiving dishes!

New Developments...

Today, out of desperation to get Addi to eat something other than strawberries and chicken nuggets (yes, she has now sworn off yogurt and veggies, because she doesn't want me to feed them to her. Can we say strong willed child?) I let her feed herself yogurt with a spoon. Although it looks like the majority is on her face, she ate quite a bit!

After I de-yogurted Addi, we went to a playgroup at Sara's house! I got a little lost on the way and ended up in Jacksonville when I was supposed to be somewhere near Pine Bluff. Did I mention I am losing my brain? Haha! Sara just had a precious baby boy a few weeks ago and I got to hold and feed him! If I didn't have baby fever before, I most certainly have it now! Oh he was so sweet and cuddly and it just made me long for another baby! I just need to talk Josh into it now! Haha! Addi had a wonderful time too! She met a sweet little girl named Harper who is only 4 months older than she is, and they have many things in common, like their love for babies. Precious! Thank you so much Sara for letting us come over and play!

And it's always fun to jump on the moms when the toys get boring! Michelle, you are such a good sport!

When we came home, Addi was super tired and even slept through a car seat to crib transfer. While she napped, I played around with my new reader writer card! Yes, I finally have one! The store we bought it from finally got tired of me calling every week to see if the one we ordered had come in yet, so they let me borrow their store's floor model! I love the program and it's very easy to use. The only thing is, I'm not very familiar with the actual machine. It's definitely going to take some practicing before I actually can get started with monogramming everything in our house.

And for some reason, our house has just gotten totally out of control, as in messy in every room. I still am trying to figure out how this happened. It was clean on Sunday, but I guess that's life when you have a constantly moving toddler! I'm off to watch Glee then clean!

Hope y'all had a great day!!!
