Memorial Day

Since Josh was gone fishing today, me and Addi had a pretty low key Memorial Day. Addi slept till 8:30 this morning which was AMAZING! We just played around downstairs till she was ready to nap. After her nap we went shopping! We went back to White House Black Market to exchange some shoes and I got a shirt that was on sale. Josh had my camera so I didn't get a picture of Addi and her festive Memorial Day flag dress. Our next stop was a fabric store to get some white eyelet for Addi's dress. I also got some gorgeous avocado green damask fabric. I can't wait to make a dress out of it! After that we went to Fresh Market to get some stuff for dinner. I was sad we weren't grilling anything that night, but we got a yummy honey rotisserie chicken which was just as close I guess. Addi was getting pretty tired of being in the car at that point so we went back home. I was organizing my sewing table and left Addi alone in her room for about 10 minutes. That was a mistake because she had gotten my hospital jug that was full of water and dumped it out all over herself and the floor. She was pretty proud of herself. We played for the rest of the afternoon and waited for Josh to get home. Addi was so excited to see him, she really missed her Daddy! He caught some fish so we will be frying them tomorrow night! I'm so excited! Now we are waiting for Real Housewives to come on and then it's off to bed! Me and Addi have a lunch date tomorrow with Mia! Can't wait to see her!
Hope y'all had a good Memorial Day!

Memorial Day Weekend!

This weekend was so much fun and it went by so quickly! I can't believe it's Sunday already! Saturday morning I woke up and was very surprised that Addi had slept through the night. I guess on Friday she was so tired she didn't eat hardly anything so I was really worried she would be waking up quite a bit, but she didn't!

Poor little thing must have been exhausted! Anyways, we dressed Addi super cute and even distracted her long enough to get a picture of her with a bow in her hair before we went to Searcy.

Once we got to Searcy we changed into our swimsuits and jumped in the pool! I was worried Addi would have a fear of water since her last two swim adventures didn't go so well, but she loved it! She sat in her little inflatable tube thing for a long time just watching all the kids play. Now, she didn't like it if she got splashed, but luckily that didn't happen very often.

After we swam for awhile, we ate lunch. Scott had smoked some chicken legs and put a carribean jerk spice on them, they were sooooooooo good! We also had hot dogs, hamburgers, Jeanette's amazing cheese dip and fruit. I also made deviled eggs for the first time! Yes, I realize that as much as I claim to be a true Southerner I am lacking in some of the most fundamental things, like never eating/making deviled eggs. Addi decided she didn't want to take a nap so we brought a blanket outside and watched everybody play volleyball. We had a little picnic with some crunchies and juice. Addi would lay down for brief periods like she was trying to go to sleep, but would pop back up because she didn't want to miss anything.

After the volleyball game we went inside to eat some yummy ice cream cake. We decided to head back to Little Rock after that, since Addi was so tired. She fell asleep as soon as we started the car and didn't make a peep till we were taking the exit home. We got Papa John's for dinner, for some reason I have been craving Papa John's pizza so Josh finally gave in and got it! We tried to feed Addi this gerber graduates meal that was little raviolis, but she didn't want anything to do with it, I guess I was wrong about her being ready for more grown-up food! She happily ate a huge jar of sweet potatoes instead.
There was a little suprise waiting for me when I got home! I had sent my aunt a couple of things of Addi's that I wanted her to monogram and they came back today! They are so precious, she did such a great job. Fran sewed most of these, that's why they look so good!

We just relaxed Saturday night and watched an old rerun of SNL before bed. On Sunday we heard a great sermon. Our church has been reading through the Bible since January and today we were on a passage in Song of Solomon. I wasn't real sure where our preacher was going with it, but he did a lesson on staying faithful to your spouse and kind of a his needs her needs style sermon. We had to get Addi out of the nursery early, because one of the teachers was leaving early so we went home and put her down for a nap. We had a short little nap then ate lunch. Josh left this afternoon to go fishing with some of his friends. I hope he catches lots of catfish so we can have a fish fry! He showed me a picture of one that his friend had already caught and it was HUGE. I would be way to scared to fish with things like that in the water! Me and Addi have a girl's night planned. We are going to watch The Blind Side finally, at least part of it before she has to go to bed and eat some yummy dinner. Tomorrow we plan on hitting up some of the Memorial Day sales! Hope y'all had a good weekend!

Shreveport!

We are back! We had such a great time in Shreveport and Texarkana. It was kind of a quick trip, but we stayed busy! Thursday morning, me, Addi and Emma left Little Rock at 8 a.m. I wanted to leave earlier, but didn't make it out of bed till about 7! We headed to Texarkana to meet Mur and then leave for Shreveport. Addi did pretty good in the car, she got a little restless about 30 minutes outside of Texarkana, but luckily Emma was in the back keeping her entertained.

When we got to Shreveport, we were all ready to get out of the car for awhile, especially Addi! I was so mad though because I had left her stroller in my car and forgot to transfer it to Mur's. This meant we had to rent a stroller. Addi liked it because it was like a car, but I was really missing our stroller! We ate lunch at Saltgrass, one of our favorite places. It was so good! Addi was fussing all through lunch until Mur took her, and after that she just sat in Mur's lap and ate pieces of bread that Mur gave her! Ha!

After lunch we started shopping! We hit up a couple of our favorite stores and got some really good deals!

Addi was getting pretty tired so we headed home. She fell asleep literally one minute of being in the car! When we got back to Texarkana we ate at this great place called Ivan's Bistro that has the BEST guacamole ever! It was so good! Granddad met us for dinner and Addi was very happy to see him! We all ordered either chicken or shrimp alfredo for dinner. Addi decided she wanted to try it so she reached over and got some of Mur's. She ate a couple of noodles and then just started playing with it. I think she might be ready for some "grown-up" food soon!

We got home and we let Addi crawl around to burn off some energy before bed. She also got to play with Sampson and I think she loves him as much as she loves Dixie! Sampson was so good and laid really still while Addi crawled over and started petting him! She wasn't even rough like she is with Dixie she was being really gentle! We also got to see Mur's garden. Her backyard is BEAUTIFUL! I can only hope one day that my yard looks half as good as her.

Addi got a bath in the sink and then we put her to bed. She was real tired and went to bed pretty fast. She only woke up once which is very good when were traveling. We woke up the next morning and Addi went and played with Mur while I got to sleep in! It was great! Addi took a nap outside in a makeshift crib, she slept in a laundry basket that was lined with towels. So cute!

Once me and Emma got ready and packed up we headed to Ironwood Grill for lunch. It was very yummy. After lunch we went and got pedicures! Addi was asleep for that part. She woke up towards the end and had a great time playing with Mr.Larry and Mrs.Tina.

We headed home after that and Addi was so happy to see her Daddy! She really missed him and Dixie. We did have plans to go eat dinner with some friends, but Addi did not think that was a good idea! She was so tired and would not eat anything at all! I put her to bed pretty early and Josh took Emma back to Skipper. He was so sweet to bring me Dixie Cafe for dinner. I know that may sound gross to some people, but it's one of my favorite places to get chicken strips! They are so good! After he got back I went to TJMaxx to return something and Target to get Addi some formula. She hasn't wanted to nurse hardly at all lately, but has been taking a bottle so I think she might be done nursing. :( Anyways, tomorrow we are headed to Searcy for Dustin's birthday party. I'm excited about swimming and eating some good food! Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Our Day

We had such a great day today, I thought I would share some pictures! I've been taking lots of pics lately with the thought of, oh this would make a cute blog post! Haha. I'm addicted I guess. Also, I found an idea off another blog that you can type your blog address in to their website and they make a photobook with all of your blog posts! I think that is such a good idea, because I am NOT a scrapbooker (I wish I was) and it's a cute way to keep memories!
So this morning, Addi slept till 8:20! She must be going through a growth spurt because all she wants to do right now is sleep. I'm not complaining one bit! Once she woke up we ate breakfast and played with her toys. I was checking my email and I look over because I hear her laughing and she has crawled over to the entertainment center and pulled a little basket of cords down and just has them strewn everywhere! She got kinda mad at me when I took them away from her, but was easily distracted by Dora. We don't let Addi watch hardly any TV, partly because she doesn't really watch it for more than a minute, but when Dora comes on, she zones in!
I was kinda worried that Addi wouldn't nap well again today, but like clockwork she went back to her 2 hour nap! I was so thankful because I had some things to do before we went to lunch. After she woke up, we went to get Skip-ma and Emma from the Land Rover place. Skipper's car was getting worked on so we went to get Josh for lunch! We ate at Canon Grill in the Heights, which has the BEST cheese dip of all time. Seriously, it's that good! Addi flirted with our waitress, another waiter, and this teenage boy who was sitting behind us. Oh dear.

After lunch we dropped Josh off back at work and us girls headed back to the heights to check out Cupcakes on Kavanaugh. They had never been, so of course we had to go! We couldn't decide which cupcake to get so we ended up getting a dozen to split. Not all at once though!

After our cupcake stop, we headed over to the Midtowne shopping center to try and find white dresses. Me and Emma need a white dress for Mur and Granddad's anniversary party and Skipper's wedding so where else to look but White House Black Market! As soon as we walked in we were hooked up with some adorable dresses. The first one I tried on was the one I ended up getting. Emma found one too, and she also found this gorgeous blue maxi dress.

Addi had a blast in the dressing room with us. She loved playing with the shoes and the paper in the shoe box. She also loves looking in the mirror. She smiles huge and then gives herself a kiss, it's so cute!

It was a very successful shopping trip to say the least! When we got home, Addi ate some yogurt and then played till Josh got home. I needed to vacuum some and found out that Addi loves the vacuum. She crawled over to it and tried to climb on it and then smiled real big.

Addi didn't take an afternoon nap at all! Whoops! So by bath time we were almost in full meltdown mode. Poor thing was so tired! She went to sleep so fast. Dixie was also worn out today too! I'm not sure why exactly, but she's just been laying around all afternoon!

Emma has been staying with us this week and she has been such a big help! She cleaned up dinner while I gave Addi a bath. Now she is sewing Addi a cute little dress. She's such a good aunt!

Tomorrow should be just as fun. We are heading to Texarkana bright and early in the morning! We are going to Shreveport to do more shopping and hang out with Mur! I'm so excited! Hope y'all had a good day!

Long Day!

Today seemed like the longest day EVER! Partly because around 3 a.m. last night I was rudely awoken by a stomach bug. :( I didn't get back to sleep till 5 because every time I would lay down I would feel sick and have to go back to the bathroom. It was horrible! Addi woke up at 8 and although I should be happy she slept that long, I was dragging already. After I fed her and played with her for a bit, I handed her off to Emma so I could get some sleep before my meeting. I napped for about an hour and woke up feeling sick...still. I put Addi back down for a nap and decided I wouldn't be going to my meeting. I was looking forward to taking another nap, but Addi woke up after 45 minutes of sleep. I knew it was going to be a long day then, because she never does that. She consistently sleeps two hours in the morning. Blah. Anyways, I gave Addi some pineapple chunks and she LOVED them! She loves to feed herself, so her lunch was pineapple, bananas and crunchies. Josh came home for lunch today and Addi was so happy to see him, but I could tell she was a little confused at first. Like, is it 5:30 already? Haha! She's so funny. She waved hello for the first time today too! We were coming downstairs and she saw Emma and waved, so cute! The rest of the day went like this: Addi fussing, me trying to put her down for a nap, her fighting sleep, me giving in and playing with her, repeat. As a last ditch effort for a nap, we all loaded up in the car and went to get snowcones. I got a strawberry snowcone with cream and it was sooo good. Summer is here! Addi liked it too, I gave her a couple of bites since it was so hot and she couldn't figure out what it was. On our way back home Addi FINALLY fell asleep! We carefully brought her in the house and she slept for probably 20 minutes. Luckily, Josh had come home by then and she's always so happy to see him. We couldn't have gotten her in the bed fast enough tonight! Haha. I also didn't take a single picture today because I didn't have the energy to pick the camera up off the floor and plug the battery in the charger. Yikes! I'm sitting here right now watching Real Housewives of New York, waiting till 9:00 to go to bed. Here's hoping for a good night's sleep and no return of the evil stomach bug!

Addi-8 Months!

Addi is 8 months old today!!! I can't believe how fast you are growing sweet little bear! You continue to amaze me and your daddy everyday with your little personality and how smart you are! Here are some things you are up to!

You are in size 3 diapers.

You wear mostly 9 or 12 month clothes.

I'm guessing you weigh close to 20 lbs. I have no idea how long you are, we will find out next month at your doctor visit.

Your first word was Dixie. You pronounced it "DI-SHEEE!" as you reached for Dixie.

You love stuffed animals. Especially your babydoll, your purple and orange monkey and Mr.Chaz. You just love on them and bring them to your face to put your mouth on them.

You are sleeping 11-12 hours STRAIGHT at night (hallelujah!) Your typical schedule is bath at 7:00 then lotion and pj's and I nurse and rock you till you fall asleep which is usually by 7:30. You wake up sometime between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. Thank you for being a good sleeper!

You take two naps a day. One of the naps is usually two hours while the other is only an hour.

You love to flirt! Oh my goodness, especially with boys. You will look at them and smile real big then turn away real quick. I think we are going to have our hands full when you get older!

You are such a social baby, you smile at everyone, especially when we are at Target or Walmart. And you get mad if you are smiling at someone and they don't look at you!

Lil Crunchies are your most favorite thing in the whole world! You get so excited when we bring out the crunchies can and you love to feed yourself. You can get kinda angry if we are eating at a restaurant and you run out of crunchies or melts.

You eat 4-5 jars of baby food a day. You love yogurt, any fruit, squash and corn, and sweet potatoes. You still don't like carrots or peas.

You nurse about 4 or 5 times a day. You let me know when you are hungry by pulling at my shirt or trying to nurse through my shirt!

You are crawling like a pro now, you are also pulling up on EVERYTHING and I think you may be walking soon. You took a few steps holding on to your little push toy, you just need the balance!

I love being your mommy Addi and you are the light of our lives! You are such a beautiful little thing and a such a blessing to me and your daddy. We love you!

Our Weekend

We just got done with a wonderful and busy weekend! It seems like life is going by so fast right now, Addi will be 8 months old tomorrow and we are almost in June! Where has the time gone?! I also can't believe I'm going to be 25 in a couple of weeks. I just think that is such a weird thing, I'm five years away from 30. Not that that's old, but I just have never envisioned myself in my 30's. Anyways, on to our weekend!
So, Friday night we had Andrew and Janelle's going away party. I am so sad they are leaving in a few weeks for Oklahoma, but I'm glad we got everyone together one last time! The girl's started out at Solemates in the Pleasant Ridge Towncenter. Solemates is an incredible shoe store that is so cute. The inside is super girly with pink walls and a really pretty chandelier and of course, shoes. We got to have a private party there and had the whole store to ourselves! They had food and wine set out for us and just let us go wild trying on shoes! We had a blast and everyone walked away with a great pair of shoes.

After our shoe party, we met up with all the boys at Salut for dinner. We got to sit outside and it was such a nice night! We had so much fun at dinner, the boys sat at one side and the girl's sat on the other. It was probably a good thing, because I'm sure the boys didn't want to hear about childbirth and some of the other topics of conversations we were talking about! Haha! The original plan was to go dancing somewhere after dinner, but I'm sad to say we are all getting old and everyone was tired and wanted to go to bed! Ha!
Saturday morning, after Addi went down for her morning nap, me and Scott and Jeanette went and looked at furniture. We were both looking for chair and a half's. I found one at Ashley's and then we went to Direct Buy to order it. I also found a rug for Addi's room! You don't know how happy that made me! I've been looking for that child a rug since I picked out her baby bedding last year! I didn't want to pay $300 for one from Pottery Barn, but this one was half the price and just as cute.

After we got done, we went and ate lunch at Greekfest which was a block from our old apartments. Not far from our house, but far enough not to drive. We took Dixie with us too, and she was so excited to get to go somewhere. We ate so much y'all. We got gyros, chicken and pork kebabs, lamb and pita bread and LOTS of baklava. They had baklava sundaes this year and I ate myself sick on one. But it was so good! Addi wore her little Greek/Mexican dress to be festive. Bless her heart she was sweating so much. We got her in the shade pretty fast and gave her some water and then I let her try my ice cream and of course she loved it!

Addi was pooped after all that Greek food, so she took a good nap Saturday afternoon, which means, we took a good nap too. Saturday evening we went to Elizabeth and Jonathan's wedding. It was in a beautiful Catholic church in downtown Little Rock. The ceremony was so neat and Elizabeth looked absolutely gorgeous. I am embarrassed to say that I started crying when she walked down the aisle. I just started thinking about how one day that will be Addi and I just got real emotional. Haha!

Sunday morning we went to early service and heard a great sermon. We sent Addi to the nursery about halfway through, I thought she was going to make it the whole time, but she got restless after I stopped giving her melts. She was fussing when we went and got her, which hasn't happened before, she is usually playing and having a great time. I chalked it up to her being ready for a nap, so when we got home I laid her down. She woke up about 45 minutes later and acted like she wanted to play so me and Emma played with her for about 10 minutes before she started fussing again. I would try to lay her down, but she would roll around in her crib as soon as I put her in there, so I just waited till after lunch to try and put her down again. She was so tired because she slept for 2 1/2 hours during her afternoon nap! Which means, I slept for almost 2 hours this afternoon. It was wonderful! Except, I kept having weird dreams that I thought were reality and I wasn't sure what was going on. For example, I would be dreaming that I heard Addi wake up and I would go get her, but it was a dream! It was so weird. After our naps, we went swimming at Treece and Noah's. Addi didn't want anything to do with the water. It was kinda cold so anytime her feet would touch she would cry. So we sat on a lounge chair and ate some crunchies and read peek a who ten times.

Addi was just a toot for the rest of the night. She wouldn't let me put her down for anything and just cried during her bath and while we were putting her pj's on. She was exhausted, poor thing. Anyways, so that was our weekend! This upcoming week I plan on finishing the guest room and sewing alot with Emma! Hope your weekend was great!

Our Trip to Searcy!

Yesterday me and Addi went to Searcy to hang out for the day. The first thing we did was go eat lunch with my good friend Tara, who I haven't seen in forever! It was so good to catch up and I think Addi really liked her. I'm sad I didn't get pics from lunch because we also saw more good friends, Kellye and her mom. Addi smiled and flirted with everyone in McAlister's and then got mad when she ran out of crunchies! After lunch, me and Addi headed over to the tent sale going on at Hay's. We got some good deals too! I got a super cute giraffe cardigan that will be wonderful for fall, a razorback tshirt, and a cute little pink camo shirt for Addi, all for less than $20! We went to Mimi and Dennis' after that to wish Uncle Dennis a Happy Birthday! Addi got to go on her first ride with Uncle Dennis and she loved it! She was so interested in the beeping noise on his chair too. She also loves her Mimi, she kept reaching for her and wanting to sit in her lap. So cute.

Addi was getting pretty tired since she hadn't taken a nap yet, so we left and went out to Scott's house to wait for Brooks to come over. Brooks is a sweet little boy who is a month younger than Addi, and him and Addi had yet to meet, so they had their first date yesterday! Brooks didn't know what to think at first, Addi was coming on really strong and trying to attack him, but he warmed up to her after awhile! Of course, Addi baby raptored him a couple of times, but I don't think he was too scared.

We had a great time playing and after Brooks and Kassidy left, I had Emma and Amber watch Addi while I got a little massage! I'm telling you, it is the GREATEST thing to have a masseuse in the family. It was so wonderful. After that we went and ate dinner with Andrew, Janelle, Hadley, Rachel and Harper at Brick Oven Pizza. It was so much fun and thanks again Janelle for bringing Addi some crunchies! I don't know if we would have made it through dinner without them!

Addi was pretty tired when we got home and she went straight to bed! This morning when she got up, she was talking up a storm. Nothing was really sounding like words, just baby sounds, but she was definitely trying to tell us something. When we woke Emma up after Josh left, Addi saw Dixie and pointed and yelled, "DI-SHEEEEE!!!" We just looked at each other and were in shock for a little bit, because I couldn't believe she just said her first word. And then I was in more shock when I realized her first word was Dixie! Haha, I'm telling y'all she loves that dog!
