Thankful

Well today was pretty darn great, considering I got maybe three hours of sleep last night! I was real worried when at 1 a.m. I was still. not. asleep. Frustrating. And then at three I woke up and then tossed and turned till Addi got up. I've narrowed it down to some theories I think are preventing me from sleeping: 1. too much caffeine. I drink WAY too many Diet Cokes and drank one at 9 p.m. last night. Bad idea, I know! 2. Stress about the upcoming event of the year, aka, Addi's birthday bash. 3. Actually, that's about it! Haha. So, tonight hopefully, I will get some good rest, although I managed to accomplish A LOT today.

I cleaned and organized like a fool today! During Addi's nap, I cleaned the house and managed to organize and clean out the guest room. I only have the game room to worry about now, but it's in pretty bad shape! I also went to Hobby Lobby and got lamps for our room, and Kirkland's to get a few more decor items. I've been slowly updating our rooms, and I'm almost done!!!

Oh and Addi was just plain amazing today. She has always been such a good baby, but today was just one of those days where I just beamed with how proud I am of her! She is so friendly and social, and then to top it off she's hilarious also! Ahhh, she's just the best.

I could not get her to smile at all for pictures today! But, when Josh came home she just beamed! They have so much fun together.

We are so thankful for such a healthy and beautiful baby girl! I can't believe she'll be a year soon. Hope y'all had a great day!

Touches of Fall

Today me and Addi had lunch with Michele! Michele is a pharmacist who is super cool and she had the day off today, so we got to hang out. We went to Canon Grill, which is deadly for me, as you probably know by now. Addi saw her favorite waitress there and got carried around the restaurant a couple of times. I think she expects when we go places for total strangers to pick her up and carry her around.

Addi wouldn't really cooperate during these pics, so that's the best one we have! Haha! After lunch, we went to Charming Charlie! I LOVE this store. I really wanted a funky red necklace to wear with Razorback stuff and I knew I would find it there. I got a cute necklace and earrings for around $10! Can't beat that! There was a cool fountain outside that Addi was entranced with.

Sister was needing a nap again, so we headed home. Thanks Michele for hanging out with us!!! I decided while Addi slept, my closet needed some work. It was in terrible shape and I needed to move all my summer stuff out and put my fall stuff in. It feels great to have a clean and organized closet! I also took some pictures of my fall decorations for y'all. Haha!

When Addi woke up we tried on some of her clothes for her photo shoot coming up!

We also had a fun visit from Grandpa and Lila! We went to Cheeburger Cheeburger for dinner, so good!

Oh and I thought this was hilarious. Last night about 10:30, Josh got a craving for banana nutella crepes. Why? Because he walked past some bananas. Sometimes he's as weird as I am! Anyways, so he watches a video on you tube on how to make crepes...and then makes them. And they were delicious! I'll be honest, I was pretty skeptical, but he's got a skill people!
Crepes.

Banana nutella crepe.

I requested a strawberry nutella crepe, wonderful.

Dusting some powdered sugar on top.

Josh can get all the cravings he wants now if he will make delicious stuff like that! Haha! Hope y'all had a great day!

Lunch Date

Today, me and Addi went and had a girl's lunch at Scallion's with Sara and Lola. Sara is a blog friend, turned real life friend, since we met today! Haha! Lola is her little girl, and she is a month older than Addi. Lola is such a sweetheart!
Addi wanted Sara to hold her most of the time!

The girl's were "talking" to each other here, so cute!

We had so much fun during our girl's lunch! Thanks so much Sara and Lola for a great time!

After lunch, I got the birthday invites mailed! Huge relief and a major thing I've been stressing about! I thought Addi was ready to take another nap when we got home, but she was much more interested in playing!

I made these for dinner. They are called Croque Monsieur's. Please make them and experience the joy of gruyere and butter. Don't worry I hit the gym tonight to cancel out calories, haha!

I'm putting up my fall decorations tonight!!! Yay!!! Hope y'all had a great day!!!

Labor Day Weekend!

Well we are back! We've had a great weekend! Saturday morning, we got up and made monkey muffins for breakfast! They are just a muffin version of monkey bread. Very good! Addi tried them, and I think she liked them. She doesn't really like sweet things so I was kinda suprised she liked these.

After breakfast, Addi tried her best to grab Dixie, but she was just too fast for her! Haha!

Addi then answered some important calls on her hand phone.

Addi then got ready to call the Hogs!!!

Will and Adam came to paint our room, it looks beautiful! There were a couple of hiccups, but everything ended up okay. We did end up going to Searcy, because the paint fumes were making me nauseous!

Dustin had some friends over, so I think you can guess who Addi wanted to be held by!

Josh had been dove hunting that morning, so we got to see them clean all those poor doves. It was NASTY. Ha ha!

I was so surprised that Addi slept through the night. It was a good thing too, I hadn't gotten much sleep the past two days. Not because of her, my mind is just racing 24/7, I think it's mostly about things I need to get done, mostly for her party. I definitely need to calm down! Haha!
Sunday morning, we left for Texarkana. We met Mur and Gdad for lunch at Ivan's. Addi had a blowout in the car so we had an interesting situation in the restroom. I made Josh come and help me, because there were no changing tables! It was a single room, but he felt very awkward being in the women's restroom, but I assured him it was okay since we were changing a baby.

Addi wanted to be carried around by Granddad most of the time!

We had a great time relaxing and eating good! Addi slept through the night at their house too! I'm so proud! :) Addi ate some pickles and tried tomatoes for the first time. She did NOT like tomatoes at all! It was so funny to watch her take a bite and then shudder.

Addi also enjoyed playing with Sampson!

I was sad to leave, but glad to get back! I needed to clean and get organized for this next week. It's going to be a busy one! Hope y'all had a great and relaxing weekend!!!
Oh and here is me from last year. I was 37 weeks pregnant, and HOT! And we were actually in Texarkana! Haha! And I'm not kidding, that is my actual belly, and I'm only 37 weeks. I still had 2 1/2 weeks left! Wowzers!

Random Thoughts

First, Addi is feeling much better. Thank you for all the prayers and sweet words.

Two, as I was stuffing envelopes with Addi's birthday invites, my mind wandered to the most random things. I've tried to explain to Josh several times how my thought process works and how one minute we can be talking about something and that thing will jog my mind and take it to another 10 things that aren't relevant, but somehow I can connect them. Anyways, so I was just standing there and I started thinking about the time when I got a black eye. I was probably 12 and me and Adam had been chasing each other around the living room and I tripped and basically fell right onto our coffee table that had sharp corners. (Note to self: get guards for our table!) Anyways, the next morning it was a huge and glorious black eye. Like, legit, I just got into a fight at a bar, black eye. My mom made it worse by saying, "Hey, you look like Rocky." That was bad to tell me on two levels. One: no 12 year old girl wants to be told she looks like Rocky. Two: My dad had just explained to me who Rocky was. I was in a phase that I really like getting into characters. Don't ask. I was a weird one. Anyways, so for the rest of the day I embodied the spirit of Rocky. My take on him was, act really moody and tough and if someone asks you, "Hey where'd you get that black eye?" I would shift my stare up to them and say, "How's about you leave before I give you a knuckle sandwich." And they would slowly back away, sorry they asked. My mind then took me to thinking, man if I were my parent's, I would be terrified that some teacher would suspect child abuse was going on, especially since I decided to be moody and quiet and extra weird that day. Haha! I kinda hope Addi or any of our other future offspring decide not to be as weird as I was.

Three, it feels like fall and it is glorious!!! We are so ready to call those Hogs tomorrow!

Have a great Labor Day weekend!!!

Rainy Day

We are on day three of Addi being sick! She didn't have a fever today so that is very good! Her nose is still very runny, but at least now she is letting us use a nasal aspirator on her to get it out. Last night was very amusing despite not getting much sleep. At around 8, Addi woke up and wouldn't go back to bed, not even if we laid down with her. So...we put her in her swing and turned on Nemo and gave her some puffs to munch on. You do what you have to do people! Well about 2 minutes after I had just poured quite a large amount of puffs into her swing tray, I hear her coughing. I ripped the seat bar with the tray off of her, puffs went flying across the room, and I proceeded to slap her on the back because I thought she was choking. She wasn't, and it just scared her. Dixie was happy though, she cleaned up all the fallen puffs. The second funny thing, funny probably because I'm delirious and have a weird sense of what's funny right now, was Addi had spilled her juice all over the front of her onesie. Josh took it off of her and threw it at me, joking. Well, Addi flipped out! Like screamed and started crying. Josh felt so bad! I guess she thought I was hurt and was really scared, poor thing! Anyways, so onto what we did today!

It was really rainy and gloomy today. Perfect "sick" weather! We stayed in most of the day. We did get out to go eat lunch with Josh and his lab-mates. We went to Canon Grill! My fav. Addi was her usual social self and even took several walks around the restaurant with our waitress. Afterwards, we headed to Starbucks to get one of these:

Pumpkin Spice Latte's are back!!! And I got mine for free today! I went through a drive thru Starbuck's on Cantrell and waited about 10 minutes. I honestly didn't mind because Addi had fallen asleep and I was reading my new Real Simple magazine. I pulled up to the window and she said, "you're not paying today, we are operating just one machine, that's why it took so long." How awesome is that?!

We got back to the house and I could tell Addi was starting to feel better. She started pushing around her rocking horse and was having a big time with that!

We did some more swing action today also! Addi now points to the swing and tries to climb up in it.

Addi was so happy when her Daddy came home early today!

This little face just cracks me up!

Anyways, that was our day! I am hoping Addi sleeps better tonight and starts feeling better too. It's no fun when you have a sick peanut head! Hope y'all had a great day!

Poor Baby

UPDATE: So Addi slept for maybe the time it took for me to write this post...and she's still awake. Poor thing couldn't get calmed down when she woke up and cried really hard for about 10 minutes despite me and Josh both loving on her! Poor thing! I'm going to take her to the doc tomorrow, I suspect an ear infection. It's gonna be a long night!!!

Yes, that's my 11 month old in a swing that I'm sure is far to big for her. Don't judge!

We are on day two of fever and poor sick baby. :( Addi kept a slight fever most of the day, but I found a new tooth poking in right by her other bottom teeth! Maybe that is the culprit! Today I couldn't get Addi to sleep for anything! I tried rocking her, swaying with her, laying down with her, car rides (that worked actually, but couldn't do a successful transfer), laying on the couch. Nothing worked! To say I'm exhausted is an understatement! Out of desperation, I turned on Nemo and put her in the swing. Haha! It worked for about 20 minutes! I am ready for my little baby princess to start feeling better, I know she doesn't feel well because she's just a big ole snotty mess. :(

Anyways, on a more positive note, today is the first day of September!!! Yay for fall! I plan on putting out our fall decorations this weekend (that's the soonest Josh will let me, haha!) Also, we have a photographer booked next week to take Addi's one year pics. I really hope she is better by then! And, we have a lady who is doing Addi's cake, here is a pic of what I told her I wanted.

We are also going to change the little sign in the front to be giraffe print. I think it's going to be pretty cute!

Hope y'all had a great day! Pray for Addi to get better soon!!!
