Playdate Time!

Yesterday, Addi and I hosted a little playdate at our house. The theme was bring your favorite fall food. It's a good thing I'm pregnant or else there would have been MAJOR guilt over the things I consumed yesterday. Let me give you a little sampling of the goodies we had:
cupcakes
corn dog muffins
something delicious called catch a man dip
cheese ball (which was SO easy: cream cheese and ranch dressing mix, form into a ball and roll it in bacon!)
pumpkin cheesecake
pumpkin pound cake
pumpkin cake
sausage balls

It was just a delightful time sitting around telling ghost stories  chatting while eating delicious food. Success! Addi had a great time with her friends too!

They wanted to go into our room and watch a movie.
 Just the sweetest things!
Look at them holding hands. Adorable.
Pardon the messy room, I didn't know it would be such a hotspot for the big girls. Lily and Addi look like they are 13 here. Minus the princess dresses of course. :)
I made this for dinner last night. Picture and recipe are from Pioneer Woman. It's called Marlboro Man's favorite sandwich. I added some mushrooms and swiss also. I expected Josh to like it, but after the first bite he looked at me and said, "this is probably the best thing you've ever made." I just don't know what to think about it. It was really good though. :)
Hope y'all had a great day!!!

Scaling Back

I have a lot on my mind tonight and I need to go ahead and write it out as a means of getting it off my chest and holding myself accountable. Point blank is, I've hit a limit with my business. I could not be more thankful for the amount of orders or my sweet customers. BUT. There is only so much one person can do. One pregnant person especially. I am so thankful to have Josh's grandma helping me. She does all of the sewing involved with our business and she ROCKS at it. I never dreamed that I could work from home doing something I love and developing relationships with people and making extra money. It really has been perfect. Lately though, it's taken off in a way that I just can't handle anymore. A typical day for me doesn't end until 2 or 3 in the morning. I've missed a couple of things because I couldn't leave for the weekend because of piled up orders. Some of my closest relationships have suffered because I don't have enough energy at the end of the day to call or text friends like I used to. I started realizing tonight that even though I spend a lot of time with Addi, it isn't time that I'm devoting 100% to her. My mind is always drifting off to how many orders I have to do that night or my to do list, I'm not soaking up those precious moments. She's at such a fun and hard age right now. Her imagination is so active and just hearing the things that she says is so funny. But she also has a sassy side to her that we have to manage. We only have a few months left of just me and her time and I want to make sure that I give her the time and attention she deserves before little brother gets here. And speaking of brother, momma needs some time to just relax and rest before we have a baby in the house again! Anyways so I say all of that not to complain, but to just lay it out there that I need to  scale back in a big way. We are going to stop orders mid November and after the first of the year, we will just be on a request only basis. I still want to make things for your precious kiddos, but sometimes I might say no. I hate telling people no, but I have a certain amount of orders per week in my head that I'm going to take and I've got to hold myself accountable to stick to that! :) I owe it to Josh and Addi to give them more of me, not my business. It's going to be hard because I'm such a people pleaser, so this is partly why I wrote it out so that I could hold myself accountable. Thank you THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for being wonderful customers. :)

Nichole's Baby Shower

Last weekend, we showered Nichole with a fun shower for baby Gracynn! Nichole is due in November and I'm so excited for her to become a mom. Treece and Josh helped me a TON with decorating and Josh made most of the food. Haha!

 Sarah made the beautiful invites.
I stole this idea from the awesome, Lis. Such a cute and personalized way to decorate!

I made these crock pot cinnamon sugar almonds and pecans. YUM.

Apple Pear Water. (Pears sink and apples float btw!) and Apple Cider Punch.

What a fun day!

Addi's Birth-day

So it's almost a month later and I'm just getting around to posting about Addi's actual birthday. Life is busy right now and the ole blog has been put on the back burner for a little while.

Addi turned 3 on Sept, 24! She got to pick out what to wear this day. Usually she just wears what I have picked out for her, but today I let her choose. Tinkerbell tank, blue pants and a flower in her hair. Adorable.
We went and picked up Josh for a little birthday lunch downtown! She is a serious Daddy's girl. :) Flying fish was a GREAT choice. So good.
We rode the trolley after lunch!

Addi wanted to sit by herself for most of the trip. Haha!
Oh me. Okay so Addi had gymnastics on Monday afternoons and against my better judgement, I took her to class today. She hadn't had a nap and was just hyped up on birthday energy. Well, long story short, Addi got kicked out of class. :( She wasn't sitting still and was disrupting the class. She even got the other kids up and running around. The owner came out carrying Addi about 15 minutes before class got out and said it was best if we just left. Addi really could have cared less, she was asking to go get an ocean water from Sonic. But, on her birthday?!?!?! And they didn't even tell her Happy Birthday. And she's 3!!! Anyways.
Now it was time to open mommy and daddy's presents!

This was a deluxe Rapunzel dress with a crown and light up wand. Perfect for when we go to Disney this November!!!

 She was so excited. :)
At 8:55 exactly 3 years old!
Addi I hope you had a MARVELOUS birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you!!!!!

Week Recap and Our Trip To NWA

One of Addi's favorite things in the evenings is to play Candyland. She loves that game. And oreos are always a good idea.
I am in love with this precious Matilda Jane outfit. My sweet friend, Sara, made the bow.
 Halloween jams!
Last week was SUPER chilly, so we made chili. Hahahaha.
 Cozy and lazy morning.
Just full of sass lately. ;)
So last Monday night, I was enjoying some milk and cookies and Josh was getting Addi ready for bed. We went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and she went to stand on her stool and it slipped out from under her and she busted her chin on our counter. There was TONS of blood and a big gash. Once Josh saw it and said, yeah let's go to the ER, I started having the beginnings of a panic attack. I seriously think I have PTSD from when the dresser fell on her and anytime she bleeds I go to pieces. I remained calm as to not freak her out, and honestly she cried for maybe a minute? and that was it. She was excited to go to the hospital because we told her Doc McStuffins would fix her chin.
My poor lamb. The whole side of my shirt was covered in blood, Addi's face and shirt were covered and nobody batted an eye. In fact, we waited for triage for 10 minutes. Then, since there were no rooms open, we waited another hour and a half before Josh decided to call a few of his ER doc friends and ask their opinion. The consensus was it didn't need stitches. This poor little boy next to us was hacking up a lung and the girl on the other side was running a 103 fever. If we didn't get out of there soon, we were really going to be sick!
Here's the booboo. Bless her heart. We took her to Dr.Bud's house and he cleaned it up real good and put this cool glue that has antibiotics in it on her chin to seal it up. He was actually working the next day at the children's ER and that put my mind to ease even more. Thank you SO much Bud!
We got home around 1 after swinging by McDonald's for a treat for our brave girl. Whew!
I got in several adorable boy items this week! Eeek!
Addi really loves showing off her chin and telling people that Dr. Bud fixed it.
Back to running around, good as new. :)
It was gorgeous on Thursday, so Addi and I made a trip to the park!

Our Friday tradition has been to order a pizza for lunch. We both really love that tradition.
Friday night, we got into NWA to see Kyle! Kyle had birthday presents for Addi to open and she was thrilled!
Although, I'm pretty sure they had more fun putting together this one. ;0)
We paid a visit to Kyle's dad and sampled some roasted pig he had done. So good.
 A little pumpkin pie custard.
We made it to the Razorback game just as they called for a delay since it was lightening. We got Addi some popcorn and she was a happy camper!

 Awesome seats!
Addi's first game. :) She did great until we scored and they shot fireworks off. Bless her heart, she clung to Josh so hard and was screaming, I wanna go home!!! It broke our hearts. Josh took her to another part of the field away from the fireworks and she got to watch our guys play good for a change! We decided to leave at half because it started lightening again and we were winning by A LOT. They ended up calling the game in the 3rd anyways because of lightening again.
Sweet bear on our way to brunch.
Not a typical brunch, but it sounded good. ;) A grilled caesar salad.
And ciabatta french toast. SO GOOD.
 Love these two.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!
