The rest of our day!

We had a wonderful day yesterday! Tuesday night, Rhen came in to spend a couple of days! Addi has been waking up around 10 or 11 so we just brought her in to see Rhen. She loves Rhen, but was a little confused as to why she wasn't in her room!


Wednesday morning, Addi woke up unusually early. 6:40! And bless her heart she was so tired. I kept trying to put her down for morning naps, but she had such a time falling asleep! We went downstairs and watched TV, I found out Sesame Street still comes on! I'm so excited, that used to be my favorite show!
Addi loves to pull out all of the DVD's in our entertainment center.

We went to eat lunch with Josh that afternoon. We tried this restauraunt we've been wanting to go to for awhile now. It's called Maddie's Place. The guy who owns it used to be Emeril's sous chef so we were very excited to try it! It was soooo good. We all ended up getting a lunch special. I got the fried shrimp plate, so yum. Josh got a crawfish po-boy and gumbo, which by the way he said I now have a gumbo rival. Uh-oh. And Rhen got a fried shrimp po-boy with roasted garlic and parmesan bisque. It might be my new favorite place! Addi loved it too! She ate a lemon, some saltines, a pickle and some french fries! Girlfriend didn't even touch her crunchies!

After lunch, Addi finally took a nap! It didn't last long, but oh well! We played for a long time that afternoon!





That night, Scott and Jeanette brought my birthday dinner that I requested...lobster ravioli! It was soooo good!

I had high hopes of eating much more than I did, but I didn't. And I was sad. Ha! They brought me a hay's gift card (can't wait to use it) and some much needed mixing bowls! Then Addi gave me the best late birthday present ever...she said momma! I might cry again!

Amazing

I thought this was going to be just another blog post on how are day went, but something AMAZING happened tonight. Addi said "momma." I couldn't believe it, neither could everyone at dinner! We just looked around and had shocked looks on all of our faces! Scott and Jeanette brought dinner tonight for my late birthday and Addi is terrified of Dustin for some reason. Ha! She was crying because Dustin was looking at her and just started saying, "mommmma!" "mommmmaaa!" and reached for me! It was so sweet! I definitely teared up! I've been waiting for this day for a long time!

Lazy Tuesday

We had a pretty uneventful day today, which was actually quite nice! This morning, Addi finally discovered Dixie's dog food. I've been waiting for her to find it, not that I want her to find it of course, but it's out there and I'm sure it looks appetizing to a very curious little girl!


I moved it to the laundry room where Addi never goes, so I think it's safe! Addi took a super long nap this morning so I got a couple of things done around the house. After she had been asleep for two and a half hours I went in to check on her! I took this picture very sneakily and she didn't even move!

After Addi finally woke up we ate some lunch and just played in her room for awhile.






After we played we went to Walmart to get stuff for guacamole. It was okay, Kyle's is much better!
Oh and I had to share this, this afternoon Dixie was acting very suspicious so I followed her into the bedroom and she darted under the bed. I knew she had something so I looked under the bed and found this...

Dixie is a hoarder!!! And that's a pasta shell in her mouth, from last night's dinner! No clue how she got it!!!

Right now Addi is in bed,we are watching Mean Girls and I'm about to make cupcakes! Rhen is staying with us tonight too! Can't wait to see her! Hope y'all had a great day!

Addi's Visit to the Nutrition Center!

When I was pregnant with Addi, my friend Elizabeth told me about a nutrition study that Children's was doing for babies. She works with the study and I thought it would be really neat! The study is comparing breast-fed babies with formula fed and soy fed babies to measure their growth and development. The compensation is free diapers or formula for a year, how great is that? We signed up and got approved and Addi has been in the study since she was two months old. We went at two months, four months, six months, then we just had our nine month visit. They weigh and measure Addi, take arm and head measurements, they do a scan of her body to get her body composition, they do a psych evaluation to see developmentally where she is at and they do a brain lab. This looks scary, but it's not at all! It's just a cap that has little sponges on it and Addi basically just sits there and plays with toys and watches baby einstein while they play a series of noises.

Addi needed a nap badly, but didn't want to go to sleep! There was too much cool stuff to look at! She loved this crib toy!

I was doing some paperwork and looked over and Addi was just laying down! She was so tired!

Addi was out within minutes of being in the car. I successfully transferred her from the car to the house and she took a two and a half hour nap! Poor thing was worn out!

When Addi got up from her nap, we ate lunch, we had let her try a biscuit on Sunday so I gave her another one. She ate the whole thing. She loves them!

We had a couple of errands to run after lunch. It was like a oven outside!!! We made a little stop at McDonald's to get an ice cream cone. I let Addi have a couple of bites, she liked it although, she really wanted to stick her hands in it.


After our little snack we played and waited for Daddy to get home! I don't think Addi has enough toys.

This was Addi's face when Josh came in the room. So sweet!

It was a great night, we had a yummy dinner, I got Addi to sleep by myself, we ate brownies and watched Real Housewives of New Jersey! Hope y'all had a great Monday!

Father's Day!

Sunday was Josh's first Father's Day! Me and Addi made him eggs benedict for breakfast. I made the hollandaise myself! It was easy, but my arm was worn out from beating the egg yolks!

After eating, Josh opened up his presents from Addi! Addi got him a razorback phone cover, a new golf shirt and a glee CD!

Addi got down for a nap and me and Josh decided to nap too, I've been feeling kinda sick the past few days so we didn't make it to church. When we got up, we made burgers for lunch. They were really good! We made them in a cast iron pan since it was raining.
The rest of the day we just played and let Josh watch a lot of golf. Ha!Scott and J loaned me one of their nice cameras, and I took almost 500 pictures yesterday! Haha, Josh kept saying, "Are you taking another picture?" I love it! It takes awesome pics!



For dinner we went to a new place here called Bar Louie. It was really good! Josh got this dish called voodoo pasta. It was chicken, andouille sausage, green peppers and rice in a spicy cajun cream sauce. He loved it! I got mac and cheese with grilled chicken, kind of an odd choice I guess, but it was really good too! Addi was a little difficult during dinner, I think she was wanting to try everything we were eating! Ha! We came home and put Addi to bed then we made brownies and then just watched TV for awhile, it was very nice and relaxing! I took some Ny-quil because my throat was so scratchy and sore. I slept like a rock! Hope y'all had a good weekend!

Birthday Weekend(Part 2)

We woke up Saturday morning pretty early! Mia has always been an early riser and in the past I've wanted to kill her for waking up so early! Haha, but now I wake up everyday around 7:30, I've just gotten used to that time I guess! We got ready and went to Panera Bread for breakfast!


Had to get our coffee! Haha, and if my shirt looks like a 14 year old's, it's because it probably is. I got it at Rue 21.
We made it to SDC around 9:30, earliest ever! This man was in the parking lot directing cars and he had the most epic beard EVER.

We were so excited to be there!

The had a new water ride that was awesome! You can shoot people with a little watergun that's on your boat, but then the people walking can shoot you back. We got soaked!

We had a great time, but it was so hot and I was missing Addi and ready to get home! Ha!
I got a headache on the way home and combined with car sickness and heat exhaustion I was not very talkative! Sorry Mia! :)
When I got home, I ran in the house and just loved on Addi! I missed her so much! I missed Josh too of course! Our friend Michele came to watch Addi (while she slept Ha) while we went to dinner! I got to choose since it was my birthday, so we went to my new favorite...Caper's! I got the bisque again and it was delicious!

We had a great meal and got some strawberry shortcake to go. It was a wonderful birthday!

Birthday Weekend(Part 1)

Well, I am 25! I don't feel any different. I did however, have a most excellent birthday! On Friday, I didn't do much, but clean a little and get packed for Branson. My aunt came to watch Addi for us, Josh took a little mini-vacay also, and went fishing with his dad!

I put lil miss in her high chair with some snacks and turned on Finding Nemo while I cleaned!

That afternoon, Addi figured out how to get Dixie to play with her. Addi would pick up this ball and hold it out for Dixie then let go and Dixie would attack it and then Addi would crawl and get it again. It was too funny to watch them!



I got stuck in horrible traffic on my way to Russellville. We were moving at a crawling pace for about 45 minutes, not a good way to start a vacation! I finally made it to Mia's and she surprised me with a sweet birthday present!

We made it to Branson at around 9:30 and drove around for awhile trying to find Landry's. We were starving by the time we got in there! We ordered shrimp and crab fondue, and these amazing banana pineapple drinks to start with.


For my meal, I got a steak and crab cake. It was soooo good. Also, the baked potato it came with was literally swimming in butter. It's like the chef knew it was my birthday and knew I loved butter.

Josh always says I order like a man. A lot of the time when a waiter brings food to our table, they always confuse Josh's meal with mine.
We were stuffed by the time dinner was over and verryyyy sleepy!

We got back to the hotel and were about to go to bed when we got sucked into watching "The Talented Mr. Ripley." It was kinda weird, but kinda good I guess!
We got a good night's sleep, because in the morning we were going to Silver Dollar City!
