Real Housewives of New Jersey

OMG, I love this show so much. I'm so glad they brought it back for a second season. These women are so hilarious. I made Josh watch an episode last night and the whole time he kept looking at me going, "are you serious?!" They crack me up!
My fav housewife is probably Caroline. She seems like she is the most level-headed and "normal" out of all of them. She's also a woman you really don't want to mess with!

Dina is Caroline's sister and she has some pretty good one-liners. She does a lot of charity work and she seems pretty okay. She does have an energist and they saged a bracelet on the episode last night to rid it of evil spirits, pretty weird.

Jacqueline is probably my next favorite. She seems really sweet and kind. She is also mom to two young boys and I like watching her interact with them.

Teresa is just HILARIOUS. She says the most off the wall stuff and it's pretty shocking what comes out of her mouth sometimes! Her whole family cracks me up. She has four little girls who are all divas and her husband is this really thick headed steroid guy. Her kids are really what make me laugh so hard. They pose all the time and say "fabulous!" and get mad if no one is watching.

Danielle is my LEAST favorite of the housewives. She causes so much drama and she's literally crazy. Her kids have to talk her down from doing psycho stuff all the time like stalking other people, it's very sad to watch. She also tries to steal the spotlight with her older daughter who just started modeling.

Anyways, if you need a good laugh check this show out! It's the best!

The Rest of Our Weekend

This past weekend was really great. We got to spend a lot of time together as a family, which during the week it seems like Josh and Addi don't get a lot of time together, since she goes to bed so early so I think this was really fun for both of them. On Saturday, Josh had a graduation brunch for one of his lab-mates, so after I got Addi laid down for her morning nap, I took one too! It was wonderful, I won't lie. When he came home, we got ready and then Josh was so sweet and took me to lunch at Milford Track since I hadn't eaten yet. We LOVE that place! I got this sandwich called the Duke of Earl and it is whole grain bread with smoked turkey, cucumbers, grilled peppers and onions, hummus and melted cheddar. I know it sounds like an odd combo, but it is SOOOO good!
Addi was cheesing at everyone that walked by her and then yelling at us if her puff/crunchie supply ran low. What a diva! After lunch, we went down to the River Market since the Farmer's Market was that day. It was really neat, but for some reason I thought it would be cheaper than a grocery store. Boy, was I wrong! Some of the produce like strawberries were so expensive. But, we did get some squash, okra and tomatoes. Addi was in her stroller and loved looking at all the cool things going on around her.

We also got a cupcake from this little bakery inside the market hall. The bakery's name is Brown Sugar Bakeshop, isn't that cute?

When we got home, Addi was ready for another nap, so we took one too! It started raining during our nap and it was just so relaxing. We were just lazy the rest of the day till we went over to Carson's house for his end of busy season party. Me and Addi only stayed for a little bit, but she had some good bonding time with her Uncle Carson. They watched some of Ice Age together and I've never seen that movie, but it's hilarious. I need to watch it again.

We had a bad night Saturday, Addi woke up four times! Ugh, it was very tiring, but she hasn't done it since, so I don't know what was going on. Sunday morning, I was so exhausted and Josh watched Addi while I slept in. I sure needed it! We went and ate lunch with Scott and Jeanette at Istanbul, this Greek place that we used to go to all the time, but hadn't been in forever. I forgot how good it was! The only bad part about lunch was when Scott spilled a full glass of ice water in my lap and then tried to blame it on Addi! Haha!

After lunch, we went to Fresh Market and just walked around and admired all of the wonderful things there. I did get this little jar of "pumpkin butter" that of course I had to have.

That night, we went to one of Josh's friends house for a birthday party. It was very fun and we got to try a lot of interesting foods! Addi had a great time because everyone wanted to play with her so she was pretty happy.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Fabulous Friday!

I am on day two of a full night's rest and I have to say it's so wonderful! Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, because we definitely needed it! Addi is sleeping 10-11 hours straight again and we couldn't be happier. I have so much energy again! Yay!
Okay, so yesterday me and Addi went to a play date group that met up at the zoo. I joined this group because I wanted to get to know more moms who have babies around the same age as Addi so she can have a fun little group of friends to play with. They are such a fun and sweet group, I look forward to going to more fun play dates.

This bow lasted 2.3 seconds before Addi ripped it off.

On to the zoo experience. The first thing we did was go to a "wild bird" show. If you know me well, you know that I am TERRIFIED of owls for some reason. I think it's because my Mimi had a house full of owl figurines and knick knacks when I was growing up and it just freaked me out, not real sure why, I've never been attacked or had an experience with an owl. So of course at this bird show an owl was literally feet away from me and then flew over the crowd really low, the kids loved it, but I almost peed myself! Addi was in her stroller happily munching on her lil crunchies and didn't really pay attention to most of the birds, except for this disgusting vulture.

Absolutely terrifying.
The funny thing was, this wasn't just a bird show, they had snakes and then this little car came out driven by a stuffed squirrel, and in the car were baby possums! Only in Arkansas would baby possums be a feature at a zoo show. Haha, and of course I had to get a picture of Addi with them! I went up to the trainer and said, "I know this is going to sound really weird, but I need a picture of my daughter with one of those possums." Now, before you think I'm a hillbilly redneck, you must know that Josh and Rhen both have pictures when they were little holding baby possums, actually HOLDING them. EWW!!! Josh even has a mullet in his picture! It's the best. Anyways so the trainer held one up while I got a picture of Addi with them. She wanted to baby raptor them so bad, but I think she knew they were nasty and never did.

Next we went and looked at the monkeys, and let me just insert this fun fact about myself, I'm not one of those people who think monkeys are "amazing" and "would totally make an awesome pet!" No people! Monkeys are DANGEROUS wild animals who wouldn't think twice to peel your face like a grape! But I digress. There was a baby gorilla who wouldn't leave his mom alone, even though she was trying to take a nap, I can relate sister! And the dad was just raking his huge arm through the grass over and over again, probably stalling for time because he didn't want to put the baby to sleep. And then there was this creeper gorilla who was just sitting in a corner by himself. Weirdo.

"Just give me 5 minutes puhleeze!"

"I think I lost something over here."

Creeper.

After the monkeys, Addi ate a gogurt then fell asleep. We stopped at a little playground area and let the other kids play and then I realized we needed to go run a quick errand before meeting Rhen for lunch. We said our goodbyes then went to our most favorite place, Target and then headed downtown to meet Rhen. We ate at Big Whiskey's and FYI for all the moms out there. Big Whiskey's does not have a changing table in their bathroom and I'm sorry for horrifying the lady that was in the bathroom when I promptly changed Addi's dirty diaper on the sink. Sorry, but what am I supposed to do!? We ate lunch with Jeanette and then went back to the house and played for a little bit before going back out to get Josh from work.

Addi mad because she couldn't have more crunchies.
We headed to Searcy after we picked up Josh to watch Emma and Amber in the junior high's version of High School Musical! They both did such a great job! After the play we went to Doc's to eat. I had a delicious steak and enjoyed most of it standing up, because Miss Priss was up wayyy past her bedtime and wouldn't allow me to sit down longer than 5 seconds.

We got home and put Addi to bed, and then watched some of our shows we had missed last week. The perfect ending was as I was falling asleep a thunderstorm started which helped me slip off into a deep deep sleep. It's already been a great weekend so far!

Children's Books

Today at Kelly's Korner she is doing your favorite children's books! I love to read and I hope that Addi will love to also. I was that nerdy kid that read everything I could get my hands on and spent my lunch in the library reading. Yes, I was that dorky. Anyways, here are some of my all time favorite kids books!

This was the very first book I ever read by myself. As it turns out, this was Josh's favorite book also!

This is such a great series and I don't know how many times I've read these!

Okay the Frog and Toad series cracks me up now, but they are still really good, Addi already has a couple.

I literally had every Bernstein Bear book and I'm so sad I don't know where any of them are! I've started buying them again for Addi and I've had so much fun re-reading them, they have such good values and lessons in them.

What are your favorite children's books?
Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Teething

Y'all, teething has been the hardest thing I've ever had to go through, I can only imagine what poor little Addi feels like. For the last couple of weeks, she has been teething and it has been a nightmare to say the least! Last week, she woke up every 45 minutes one night...yes...it was just as awful as it sounds. Josh ended up sleeping with her on the couch, because I was so exhausted I could just feel my nerves snapping! Now every night hasn't been that bad, but she has been waking up at least once, sometimes twice a night and the bad thing is it takes her FOREVER to fall back asleep. Like two hours! Agh! She hasn't been real fussy during the day, just when the tylenol starts wearing off, and then she won't let me put her down for anything! Hopefully, her little teeth will break through soon and she can go back to being her happy little self, but until then pray for us that we make it through this tough time!

Mother's Day Weekend!

This past weekend was my very first Mother's Day as a mommy and it was so much fun! We had kind of a busy little weekend too. On Friday, Addi was with Skipper for most of the day, she had spent the night in Searcy on Thursday (which is a different post entirely-teething) so I slept until 11:00! It was so wonderful!!! When I woke up and got around, me and Josh went to eat lunch at Zaza's! I got a yummy salad and Josh got margarita pizza, they were both very good choices. After we got done eating, we walked across the street to Cupcakes on Kavanaugh and got a strawberry cupcake!

Skipper came and brought me Addi that afternoon, and we went to Walmart and I picked up the rest of the guest room furniture. We are painting tomorrow so sometime in the next week I will post a before and after pic. Addi surprised me by pulling up on this little tote that's in her room! I looked over and she was just standing and I was so shocked I called Josh, but apparently she's done that before!

We played for a long time in hopes to tire her out! Friday night we had a delicious dinner of fried backstrap, mashed potatoes, and grilled corn. Also that night, Josh got a call from Kyle...long story short, Kyle had appendicitis and had his appendix removed early Saturday morning! :(
Saturday, we went to Searcy and had lunch with Whitney and Andrew's family to celebrate his sister's graduation. It was fun to walk around Harding. We did have a bit of a "situation" at lunch. Josh was holding Addi at the table and Addi kept leaning forward trying to grab plastic wrappers and sugar packets. I told Josh to watch her because she kept putting them in her mouth. Well, I got up to get a piece of cake, come back and Addi is choking on something and coughing so hard she threw up! I swabbed her mouth with my finger and found two wrappers! Oooo I was so mad at Josh! Anyways, after that incident and I calmed down, we took some pictures. I wanted to get a family pic in the glass chapel, but there was a wedding going on.

After lunch, we headed out to Scott's house to swim. Addi looked so cute in her little bikini! We all got in, it was a bit chilly at first, but not bad at all. We had a group out there too! Scott got in and decided to give Addi her first swimming lesson. Let's just say, she didn't really care for the water after that, especially not after when I took her, I slipped and dunked her sideways. Poor little thing had such a hard day! Lila took her inside and comforted her and the rest of us had so much fun playing! I can't wait till this summer when we can do it again.

That night we had dinner at Pei Wei and we got to meet Kyle's parents! They are so sweet and I'm glad Kyle's dad finally got to meet Addi!

We made milkshakes that night and Addi slept almost 11 hours straight, that's how worn out she was.
Sunday morning, Josh made me chocolate chip pancakes which were sooo yummy. We didn't get to church because Addi wasn't feeling very well, but I did get to take a nap while Josh watched Addi. He had to go up to the lab for some of the day so me and Addi hung out and just did a whole lot of nothing! Addi got me a sweet card, flowers and a new Pandora charm for my bracelet! Thank you! For dinner, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings. We have waited so long for it to open! It was so good and I ate myself sick. It was a great first mother's day! Hope your weekend was good!
