Our Weekend!

Phew! We are back after a very long and very fun weekend. I say very long, because Addi didn't sleep very well in her pack n play, but we still had a great time. We went to Mur and Granddad's Friday night just in time for them to visit and play with Addi a little bit before we put her down for bed. The first wake up happened around 11p.m. but it was okay because I just fed her and put her back down. The second wake-up happened at 3 am and Addi decided she wanted to play for awhile before going back to sleep. Luckily, when she woke up Saturday morning, Mur and Granddad played with her and me and Josh got to sleep in! We went to Eden's party that afternoon and had sooo much fun. It was at this gym that had all sorts of fun things like bouncy houses and a big slide and a ball pit. Josh is surprisingly a really good gymnast and he impressed some of the kids with his back flips. Addi had a great time watching all of the kids. Josh slid down the big slide with her and she really liked it! For dinner we had deer burgers and cheese dip, it was so yummy. That night was a little better as far as sleeping, Addi woke up again at 4, but went right back to sleep. After church we ate lunch with Whitney, Andrew and Eden. I am so excited for them! I can't wait to find out what their little baby will be!! We decided to get on the road pretty soon after lunch so Addi could take her nap in the car. Here is a warning for everyone: we do not like Huggies diapers. Addi had the most massive blowout of her life and she was sadly wearing a Huggies diaper. I don't need to tell you how gross it was, but it was EVERYWHERE. And that is why we are a Pampers family. Anyways, we had a great weekend besides that little part!

We are really lucky Addi is such a great traveler.

Here is a hilarious video of Andrew showing off his skills!

Addi is 6 months!

It's hard to believe that today Addi is 6 months old! She is growing so fast, it's hard to keep up!
Here is what she has been up to:

You weigh 16 lbs. 10 oz. and you are 25.5 inches long!

You wear size 3 diapers.

You are in 6-9 month clothes, mostly 9 months!

You are sleeping 12 hours a night!

You take two naps a day, your morning nap usually lasts 2 hours and your afternoon nap is normally just an hour.

You love apples, bananas, pears, peaches, really any fruit, corn, squash and sweet potatoes.

You hate green veggies.

You love the dogs so much, when they are playing you always try to grab them, but they run away from you.

Lately you have not liked being dressed, you fuss an awful lot when I am putting on your clothes. Maybe this summer you can be naked more often.

You are still a momma's girl, although your face lights up when your Daddy comes home, it's so sweet.

You love being sung to. Anytime your fussy we will sing you a song and you usually calm down and start smiling.

You are such a happy little girl and we are loving every minute of watching you grow!

Our Search

Lately at night before we go to bed, Josh and I usually watch episodes of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. We always end up hungry after the show is over, I don't know when we will learn to not watch something like that before bed! Anyways, we always say, "Man I wish Little Rock had places like that." So we have decided to start a search of all the little hidden and not so hidden places in Little Rock that resemble the places on triple D. On Saturday we went to our first place called Milford Track. It is definitely hidden! It's in an executive building and there is no sign for it so you have to know it's there in order to find it. But man, was it good! It's a tiny little place that has probably five tables inside and a beautiful outdoor patio that overlooks a really pretty pond that has swans! I got a club sandwich on a croissant with french fries. You could tell everything was fresh and homemade. Josh got breakfast which was a great choice. He got an omelet with roasted peppers, mozzarella, mushrooms and smoked ham. It was soooo good. Here is their website.

Today for lunch, we ate at The House which is located in the Heights. Holy Cow. I got a burger with fontina cheese, bacon and carmelized onions. It was so good and such a great combination of flavors. Also, fresh cut fries, again! Yes, my diet is not doing so hot, but fresh cut fries are my weakness. Josh got their crab-andouille-shrimp and chicken gumbo. It was very good also, but very very spicy! Here is their menu.

We are really excited to find more "hidden" places in Little Rock!

Absolute Goodness

If you are looking for a quick and easy but most of all DE-licious dessert to try, make this please. You probably have all the ingredients on hand. I got this recipe off of Bakerella's website and it has been my go to dessert now for many occasions. It's so easy to put together, there is no mixing or measuring. I made it tonight for dinner and it was oh so yummy. Here is the recipe and the pics I took!

Peach Crunch Cake

24.5 oz jar of sliced peaches in light syrup
1 package yellow cake mix
1 stick butter (1/2 cup), cut into 16 pieces
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Layer ingredients in a 13 X 9 dish, in order starting with the peaches.
Bake for about 40 minutes.
Serve warm or cold… with or without ice cream.

This looks like alot of butter, and it is, but it's so worth it!

Pretty layers!

Soooo good!!!

St.Patrick's Day

I almost forgot today was St.Patrick's Day. This has always been a holiday that I never really celebrate, because I don't know how to. I mean I'm not really one to go drink green beer at a bar and I think that's the main "theme" of this holiday. Me and Addi did go to Searcy today and Josh called me right before we left, almost panicky, to make sure we were wearing green, haha! I did find out that brisket is apparently Irish, and brisket happens to be one of my all time fav foods,so... I think next year I'm going to start a St.Patrick's Day tradition of making brisket and I'll just google some other Irish food recipes. I'm all about traditions.

Run Momma Run!

Look at this cute little shirt I created for Addi! For extra incentive to get my booty in gear for the race, I thought, well if Addi has an outfit for race day then I for sure have to do it!!!

Easter Outfits and such

You know your a mom when the highlight of your weekend has been coordinating your family's Easter outfits. We have an amazing seamstress in the family(Josh's grandma) who has made Addi this precious smocked dress that has little bunnies on it. So that just left me and Josh to find outfits. Now, Josh said early on in my pregnancy he refuses to wear a tie that matches his children's clothes. He apparently is scarred for life since he was made to do this as a child. Luckily for him Addi's dress is the same color as one of his long sleeve button ups so he really lucked out. I really wanted to find a pink dress since that was the color of the thread in the smocked part of Addi's dress. It is so hard to find just a plain pink dress! I just gave up because I never could find what I was looking for, BUT!, in my closet I found this adorable dress that I have never worn before and it still has the tags on it. I can't remember when I bought it, but I'm so glad I did, because it has the same turquoise blue color that Josh and Addi are wearing, so we will all match! Yay!

P.S. I'm ignoring the fact I just made a whole post on color coordination.
