Our Routine

This may be SO boring to you, but I wanted to have a memory of what a typical day was like in this stage of our lives. Feel free to skip if you want! :)

*And somedays it just doesn't go according to plan, like today! Haha. Addi woke up at 11 and didn't go back down till 4:30 a.m. I just try to do what I can on days like that. :)

This past week I implemented a new daily routine type schedule for myself. I needed some direction and management because I've been having a problem with getting everything done in the day that I need to. BUT, once I sat down and really thought about it, I was wasting tons of time when I could be doing productive things. I looked on Pinterest and found some schedules for cleaning and home management. I combined that with some principles from The Fly Lady and came up with something that works for me.

I wake up usually after Josh leaves for work, and as soon as I get out of bed, I make the bed and then wash my face and brush my teeth, then get dressed. I used to hang out in pj's all day, and I will still do that sometimes, but I feel like I am more productive if I get dressed. Addi is a late sleeper, so I will have a cup of coffee and go over my schedule for the day, check email, and check facebook and twitter. I unload the dishwasher and start a load of laundry. At this point, if Addi hasn't woken up, I will go wake her.
*I could do a quick Bible study during this time before Addi wakes up...anyone have good recommendations for a good daily study that doesn't take very long to read and is geared towards moms? :)

Addi likes to stretch for a good while when she wakes up. I will rub her back and sing some songs until she's ready to get out of bed. I change her diaper, sometimes I will change her into her day clothes, but sometimes she stays in pjs for awhile too. Then we go have breakfast and watch a show. On the days we have playgroup, I will pack a snack and get the diaper bag ready to go. On days we don't, I begin my daily chore. This checklist has been a HUGE help, because I used to clean everything on Sundays and it would take 4-5 hours. This just has you do something each day and it's worked a lot better.

I try to have something fun for Addi to do while I'm doing the chores for the day. Like stickers, or finger painting, so she's having fun. Once I get done with that, we move on to an activity or craft. I'm trying to put together a binder with ideas so I can have them on hand and not have to bring up Pinterest every time. :)

After we get done with our activity, we have a snack. Then, we usually go play with her puzzles or read books for awhile. Two days a week we have playgroup that usually lasts from 10:30-1 or so. Lately, we have been jumping a lot so that's fun. :) After that, it's lunchtime. Addi sometimes won't eat her lunch till after her nap. Which is fine, sister girl is constantly moving and that wears her out!

On the days that we are lucky enough for her to take a nap, I finish up the rest of the chores, return emails, take care of some calls, switch the laundry and try to get an order done. Addi is also a whirlwind so that is also when I try to tidy up a little. I also figure out if I can prep anything for dinner, like chopping vegetables or something like that. On the days that she doesn't nap, we just repeat the above and I try to get some things done while preventing a meltdown because she's overtired.

If she did nap, after she wakes up, we will usually go run errands at this point. I almost always go to the post office everyday and so we do that and whatever else needs to be done. Thankfully, Addi is a pretty go with the flow type of girl so she's good about running around.

Once we get home from that, it's usually time to start preparing dinner. I will give Addi my phone at this point and she plays her Super Why app or another one while I get dinner ready. I also finish up any chores and fold laundry. I've been using my slow cooker quite often, so if dinner is in that, we will cuddle up and watch TV or her favorite thing right now is for me to make up stories, so we will do that until Josh gets home.

Josh gets home and he takes over while I finish dinner. Then we eat! After dinner, we will clean up together, or one of us will take Addi into the other room to play. We play for awhile and then I will go to the gym for a little bit. Once I come home, Josh will go to the gym, or he will give Addi a bath and then go.

Once Addi is down for the night, I get on the computer and return emails, check twitter and facebook, blog/read blogs and then it's time to start on orders! I have been on break so my order list isn't as overwhelming as it was back in December. And I've got my other machine back now, so I can be doing two at once. Josh goes to bed pretty late so I try to get in bed by midnight or one, but some nights I stay up till 3 or 4 working. I run on a lot of coffee. :)

I usually have some downtime in between orders, where I'm not having to constantly sit there with the machine, and I will use that time to meal plan or plan the next day's schedule. Or talk with Josh! He watches TV in the same room that I work, so I feel like I have some company. :)

Some things that I would like to add, would be time to do a daily Bible study and free reading time.

You deserve an award if you made it this far! :)

Our Day in Phone Pics

Somedays you just don't feel like busting out your big camera and taking tons of pics, ya know? That's why I love my phone. It takes pretty ok pics for being a phone camera. Do y'all remember the flip phone cameras??? Gosh, those were terrible. I apologize if I have just offended you because you have a flip phone. I used to have one too and didn't get all the fuss over these new fangled "smart phones." Now I do. :)

Addi picked out her accessories this past Tuesday. She loves her new big puffy coat and she is obsessed with those monkey rainboots. So cute.
We've been trying really hard to get Addi to try new foods. The other night we succeeded in getting her to eat carrots and peaches! She will begrudgingly eat a few carrot sticks, but now peaches are her favorite. We told her that bunnies eat carrots and Super Why eats peaches. Whatever works right?
I picked up this cute little heart mug at Target the other day. I just love seasonal things!
Today while vacuuming, I moved the couch back and discovered this treasure trove. I always knew Dixie was a hoarder, but this is a new level. I wonder if they have a Hoarders show for dogs? ;)
We played with stickers today and Addi decorated my face. I *almost* walked out the door like this, but realized I still had them on my face.
I was taking a picture of Addi in the home store today and forgot to switch the camera back. I didn't even realize I had taken a picture of myself until I was scrolling back through pictures! I have extra large canine teeth and sometimes they hang over if I smile. My father in law likes to call me Fang Face when this happens. Here is a classic example. Hahahaha, I don't know why but this makes me laugh so hard.
THIS is what I was trying to take a pic of! Haha!
And for some reason, Addi has been listening to this song over and over again today. I'm just glad it's not Lil' Wayne.
Hope y'all had a great day!

My Girl Loves to Jump

Today, we were supposed to go to the indoor jump place with our playgroup. Being the stellar group leader that I am, I didn't even think to check and make sure they were OPEN. You see, Jump Zone is open everyday during the summer, but once winter hits, they only have open play on Fridays. So...Addi and I get there, I'm so impressed with myself that we are three minutes early, I'm even thinking we are going to have the place to ourselves! Sadly, to my dismay, they were closed. Addi was so excited, she knew where we were and she was yelling, "I jump, I jump!" Sorry Addi, not today. :( We ended up going to the big indoor playplace at Church of Rock Creek and it was just as fun.

Girls just hanging out.
Sliding!
Sweet and precious baby Miles!
Thanks Leslie for the assist!
When we got home, Addi got her jump on so nobody worry! Haha! Trampoline=best gift ever. Thanks Papa.
Belle always wants to get in with us. :(
"I jumpin momma!"
My sweet girl.
She wanted to hug the camera.
Hope y'all had a great day!

NYE 2011

We celebrated the end of 2011 at Josh's dad's house! There was tons of delicious food and everyone had a great time. Including this little one!
She always has a great time at Papa's house!
This was right after the ball dropped. We both are looking ready for bed!
I should say Addi jumped in the new year! She stayed in the trampoline for most of the night.
The confetti!
We threw some glow sticks in there and Addi went to town! It was like a little party just for her. :)
On New Year's Day, Addi jumped for pretty much the whole day. She was SO tired that she fell asleep during the first 10 minutes of Tangled. SO precious.
I laid down with her and fell asleep too! Whoops! Thanks Ashton for taking this pic!
Once we woke up, we found out some friends were there for the fondue party. Yay!
Yummy fondue.
CHOCOLATE....
So good! Hope y'all had a great New Year's Eve and Day!!!!

2012 Goals

I can't believe another year has come and gone! I feel like 2011 went by so fast. Anyways, I love the start of a brand new year and setting goals for myself! Here are some past years goals.

2010

2011

Basically, the one that is always there is the getting in shape part!!! Agh, why is it so hard to stay in shape??? I've decided to make this year's goal to not be about weight, and more about a lifestyle. Addi is starting to really pay attention to what we do and she's even imitating us now. Scary. I really need to set a better example of what "healthy" is. So I present to you my goals of 2012!!!

1. Get healthy.
-Cut out fast food. We eat this way too much for my liking, but when you are on the go and busy, it's so easy to just grab something. I've got to nip this habit in the bud while Addi is still young enough to not miss it.
-Drink more agua. I'm cutting out diet drinks and artificial sweetners and so this doesn't leave me with a whole lot of options. Water makes me feel better, I just don't know why it's so hard for me to get my daily allowance!
-Be more active. My goal is to break a sweat once a day. Whether that be at the gym, scrubbing pots and pans or dancing with Addi. :)
-Be picky about what I eat. I owe it to myself to eat good things. I don't need to waste calories on junk.

2. Finish the half-marathon.
-Yes, you heard right. I am walking/running the Little Rock half-marathon in March. I am so nervous I'm not going to finish in the time allotted. Quitting is not an option so I am just going to have to push my physical limits. This is so exciting to me. I want to see what I'm capable of! Josh is running the full marathon, and a ton of his family will be in the race also. This makes it fun and competitive!

3. Send out birthday cards.
-I am horrible about acknowledging birthdays! I am lucky if I see it on facebook and I write a generic, Happy Birthday, hope you have a great day, type message. My friend Melissa last year sent out birthday cards to all of her friends and it was so special to get a card in the mail! I had thought about doing it this year, and then Hillary blogged about it and now I really want to!

4. Get Christmas shoppping done early.
-Christmas this year was kinda stressful as far as gift buying went. We have a large number to buy for, and even though we start early, it kinda fizzles out and then we are scrambling to finish and we get out with the crazies and it's no good. My friend Kodi had a great idea about buying throughout the year. We are going to try this and see if it works for us!

5. Start a prayer journal.
-I love to see how prayer works and it will be neat to look back and see all the answered prayers over the year.

6. Get pregnant.
-Haha! Just being honest here. Our original plans changed a bit and so now we are waiting a bit before trying again. It's nothing serious, we just need to get some insurance things figured out first. Here is something funny, Josh suggested instead of paying ridiculous hospital bills, if I would just rather have the baby at home.................I admire the heck out of women that do that, but I'm sorry, I prefer drugs! I actually watched Addi's birth video the other night and (TMI) in between pushes, I'm laughing and joking with the nurse. I loved my experience and will choose to do that route again! :)

Things I'm excited about in 2012:
-the summer Olympics
-growing Pumpkin Butter Kids
-Shark Week
-seeing if the world will end on 12/12. ;) I'm more nervous about the people that think it's ending on this day. I kind of want to hole up in the house the week before and ride out the crazy.
