New York New York!

Today, Josh and I are leaving on a mini vacation to New York City! Josh has a conference to go to and were going up early so I can tag along! I'm so excited! I've never been before, but I've always dreamed about going here! Addi is not going with us, and although I am going to miss her terribly, I think she is going to have the time of her life with Grandpa and Lila!

Until next time!

Confessions

*I don't like pancakes. Sometimes, I'll get a wild hair and crave them, but most of the time, I just pass them up. I'm not fond of maple syrup either.

*I have one of the biggest tempers you've ever seen. It just doesn't come out very often. My two best friends, Treece and Mia have seen it, and so has Josh.

*I didn't learn vowels until I was 13. Somehow I just missed that in elementary school??? I had NO CLUE what people were talking about when they said, "short a" or "long a."

*I am obsessed with my scentsy. Seriously, that will be my go to Christmas gift for a lot of people this year.

*Speaking of Christmas, I've already started working on my list. :)

*Most of our friends don't like Dixie. Some take the dislike a little further and use the word, hate. Those people would be boys.

*I have a terrible time sewing on buttons.

*One of my most favorite things to do is go into Target (BY MYSELF) and get a bag of popcorn and a large icee and just walk around for as long as I want. Bliss!!!

*I really dislike most "girl foods." Like, chicken salad for example. I despise this food so much and I would rather eat paper than eat chicken salad. It's so gross to me. Also, jello salads, the salads with the weird dressings and stuff I really don't like either. I also don't like salmon. But...I LOVE wings, I love a really good steak cooked medium rare, I love a greasy burger. Just really the unhealthier the better. Ha!

*I'm obsessed with all things Gain scented. Gain scented febreeze, gain scented mr. clean. I LOVE it.

*I love every Real Housewives series. I watch Bravo wayyyy too much at night!

*Warm chocolate makes me gag. I wish I liked it, but it's just too much and I want to throw up if I eat like a warm chocolate chip cookie. It's unfortunate.

What are some of your confessions???

Hope y'all had a great day!

The 4 B's.

This blog post is brought to you by the four B's. Baby shower, Biscuits, Backyard Fun and The Beast. Consensus: I've been watching way too much Sesame Street lately, someone send help. Anyways, today we went to a dual baby shower for Michelle and Heidi!

The pile of presents.
Cupcakes! I attempted to make gluten free cupcakes (the blue ones) in honor of Michelle's picky tummy. They actually tasted pretty decent. The mix I used was Pamela's yellow cake mix. I also added about a tablespoon of vanilla extract to the mix.
Addi biding her time before she gets a cupcake.
This is seriously her ideal lunch. Chickfila nuggets, fruit and a cupcake.
Sweet Lily was "tickling" me.

Brilie was a pro at getting the tissue paper out of the bags!
Look how precious this blanket is!!! Hollie made it!
And those Toms???? Adorable!!! Cheryll is the Toms queen!
Awesome playgroup girls! I'm sad I didn't get a picture of everyone there.
Precious Kinley!

Addi loves to make her dolls kiss. So sweet.
Another cute blanket!
Both Lily and Hadley came out in these glasses, and both were upside down. Hilarious.
It's like wrestling an alligator trying to get Addi to take a picture with me!
And of course, Addi and her little bestie, Harper always end up jumping on and off the couch.

At some point during the shower, someone saw Addi doing this. Hahahaha!!!
So sneaky! She was licking the icing off of a cupcake.
Sweet girl!
Addi ate 4 biscuits today. It's hard to get her to eat sometimes, but with biscuits, she can take them down. And she's been carrying this little Beast figure around with her constantly. She sings to him and swings him around like they are dancing. It's pretty cute. :)
When Josh got home, him and Addi played outside for a bit while dinner finished cooking. I walked outside for no more than three seconds and got bit by several mosquitoes. :(

I feel like such a dork for posting this, but I've finally gotten somewhat used to "poofing" my hair. I got a big bottle of freeze-it and it was a lot higher this morning. I'm still getting adjusted to having a lot of product in my hair, but it's very weird!

Wow, this blog post was super chatty today. Haha. Hope y'all had a great Monday!

Weekend Update

Friday night, we took Addi to go see the Lion King!!! This is one of my all time favorite Disney movies and I was so excited for Addi to see it. Little bear fell asleep the way there and slept like a rock all through previews and through the very loud musical intro. Of course, she wakes up at home anytime Dixie barks, but booming loud African drums couldn't wake her up this time. Haha! We finally got her to wake up and she enjoyed the movie. She commented through a lot of it, and got a little restless towards the end. :) It was so good and I'm glad we got to see it as a family. After the movie, we went to Outback for dinner. That escapade ended with Josh getting a full glass of ice water dumped on his pants. Ha!

Here are some pictures of Dixie and Belle playing that night.

Saturday, we had some friends over for gumbo and to watch the Razorback game!
Cheese!!! P.S. I have been looking for literally a year and a half for a Razorback smocked dress that wasn't $1,000. I found this one on Spirited Smocking on Facebook for very reasonable. They have lots of other schools too!
Please let me get your picture Addi!
No bake cookies. I ate far too many of these.
Hot Bacon Cheese Dip. Looks kinda gross b/c the oil is seperating, but it was SO good.
GUMBO. Again, kind of an unfortunate picture that doesn't convey the deliciousness.

I was pretty irritated with how the Hogs started off playing. If there is two schools in the SEC that we HAVE to beat, it's A&M and LSU. So, I was a little worried, and the gumbo made me really sleepy so I took a little nap and when Addi and I woke up, I found out we won!!! Yay!!!! Maybe I should sleep through all the games. ;)

We didn't do much Saturday night. Side note, Belle is one of the sweetest puppies ever. Seriously.

Addi didn't go to bed till almost 1 a.m. on Saturday night. No clue why??? So, we missed church this morning and we were pretty lazy all day. I got out to go to Kroger, but that was it. It felt so nice outside though!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!!

Last Week...

So I had really good intentions of blogging after all of Addi's birthday posts were up, but ya know, it's okay if I'm doing an update of our week on Saturday! :)

On Tuesday, Addi and I went to the park with our playgroup. We love the park at Lake Willastein so much and it was just a gorgeous day. Addi was going 90 to nothing so I didn't get to chat much with the girls.

Wednesday, Addi spent the day in Searcy. She missed her Papa and Lila so much!

On Thursday, we went back to Searcy to see the Colonel! He was in town for the day to help Uncle Dennis move to Vegas. Addi was SO excited to see him.

Friday, we went to Addi's nutrition appointment. We had to come back because the last time Addi went, it was complete meltdown central and they couldn't get any information. :( I prayed it would go better, and I was prepared this time. I brought plenty of Addi's favorite snacks, a new toy, and she had plenty of rest the night before. Thank you Addi!

I'll blog about our weekend tomorrow! Hopefully! :)

Hope y'all had a good one!
