Hadley's Party and Mother's Day Weekend!

This is going to be the longest post ever, because we have had a FULL weekend!!! On Friday, we went to lunch with our good friend, Michele! We went to Zaza's for yummy salads and then to Cupcakes on Kavanaugh for a little treat! Addi was so cute sitting in the big chair eating her cupcake.


After our fun lunch, we packed up the car and headed to Tulsa! Addi slept for three hours in the car which was wonderful.

Once we got to Janelle and Andrew's, we let the girl's play in the backyard before dinner. They LOVED the bubbles!




We ate dinner at Tally's that night. Oh my word. If you are ever NEAR Tulsa, you have to eat here. It is SO good. There was SO much food and it was all so good.

Addi and Audrey read bedtime stories together. Sweetness.

Saturday was Hadley's second birthday!!! After breakfast at Tally's, I told y'all it was good, we got to work on decorating. Well, Janelle had done most of it, but we just helped with the finishing touches. She did such a great job, she should really be a professional party planner!







We tried to put Addi up in the tree with Hadley and Audrey, but she was not happy until Josh got up there with her!



We all had such a great time at the party, but man was it HOT!!! It felt like 90 degrees outside!








The drive home was an adventure. Addi despite having no nap, not getting enough sleep the night before and playing all day in the sun, only slept for 45 minutes.

And....our tire blew out about 10 miles from home! And our car didn't have a spare! Only a flat tire repair kit. So weird! So we had some friends pick us up and take us home and got AAA to tow our car. Frustrating!!!

Today, Josh made me breakfast since it was Mother's Day. So nice. My gift was a Keurig!!! I have been wanting one of these for so long and I love it! When we got to church, the nursery workers gave all the moms flowers. So sweet!!! We headed to Searcy after church to have lunch at Josh's dad's house. Addi LOVES it over there so she had a blast.




They just got a new puppy and Addi was in love!



So blessed to be this girl's momma!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

We have had a GREAT weekend and I will do a full recap on Monday, but for now, I wanted to wish all the mommies out there a Happy Mother's Day! As wonderful and special as this day is, I know for some people it's a very hard day. For those who have lost their mother, or those who are waiting to be mommies, you hold a very special place in my heart. This day used to make me so sad because I would dwell on how much I missed my mom. She died when I was 17. Having Addi has made this day so much better and I am SO honored to be her mother, but I still miss my mom and I so badly wish she was here to see Addi grow and be able to give me advice. I do have peace about her not being here, and it is almost like I know she is watching over us, and I know I will see her again one day and I'll be able to hug her neck and I can fill her in on all the things she missed. I'm sure God has an instant replay room we can sit in for a few hundred years. :)

My First Vlog

Okay so I am nervous because this is my first ever vlog!!! My twitter friends started this and I wanted to join in on the fun! A couple things about the video...first, I should have read the questions and thought about them for a little bit before I just answered them, but maybe that's the fun of it?! Second, the bong comment is for my friend Treece. We were lab partners in chemistry and we always joked about it, but truthfully we had no clue what a bong was, we had just heard it on that movie, Orange County. Third, I could spend an hour talking about high school memories, and I'm not sure why I picked that one because I have about 10 memories that are in a tie for my favorite. Fourth, I say birthday party twice in the same sentence! Fifth, Dixie was all up in my grill!!! So, I hope y'all are still my friends after you see this! Oh, and link up with Whitney and the other girls if you want to join in!

Sunny Days

I am SO happy to say that the sun was out today for the first time in what feels like forever! Our poor state needed a break from all that rain. I'm pretty sure the highway between Jacksonville and LR is still underwater. I'm ready for summer, although today at playgroup I said I am ready for fall and Christmas. Ha!

Addi has been in a weird mood the past couple of days. I'm pretty sure she is teething because she has been rubbing her teeth and she's just pretty pitiful lately. Yesterday, we lost "moo-moo" for a couple of hours. Somehow it ended up in the dryer? Not sure how, but those few hours were awful. She was crying and asking for her moo-moo. It was sad times! But, today was fun! We went to our friend Cheryll's house today for a playdate. Addi was acting strange for half the time there. She was laying on the couch, playing by herself, just not being very social and then she would come out and make a pouty face and want me to hold her.




But, then she got a burst of energy and threw a couple of toys in the toilet. Oh me. Sorry Cheryll. :)

When we got home, Addi didn't take a nap, but her mood was a lot better!


For dinner, we went to a new place called, Terrace on the Green. It's in a weird location, actually inside an office building. We have found the best restaurants are in office buildings! This is a Greek/Mediterranean place and it was AMAZING!!! The food was so unbelievable fresh, flavorful and unique. It's a tad expensive, but if your looking for a good date place in Little Rock, this is right up your alley. It's also a little fancy, but not stuffy. I highly recommend it.

The Weekend

This weekend was a very fun one! It was also very lazy, which is so nice sometimes. We've been getting TONS of rain so it's been perfect for naps and just doing nothing. :)

Friday

Janelle and Hadley came to Little Rock to eat lunch with us! We ate at Cantina Laredo and it was SO yum. We even got dessert! We couldn't help it, when we first sat down the table next to us got that apple pie skillet thing and it smelled so good! The girl's were hilarious through lunch! It's always an adventure taking two toddlers out to eat!






Addi and I enjoyed the brief sunshine while it lasted.



We grilled out that evening with Janelle and Andrew and it was so much fun. We talked their ears off about all the crazy pets we've had in the past. And showed them hilarious youtube videos. Fun times.

Saturday

We went to Milford Track for our usual lunch spot. Always good, but we discovered they make the best chocolate chip cookies in Little Rock. Or at least I thought they were the best.



That night, Jeanette and the kids came to Little Rock and we all went to the movies. Addi included. Me, Addi, Dustin and Ashton saw African Cats and the others saw Water for Elephants. Suprisingly, for 3/4 of the movie, Addi just sat in my lap munching popcorn. I was cracking up because she was GLUED to the screen, but her little hand would be searching for the popcorn tub. She looked like such a little adult. There were parts that she got pretty anxious at, there were some intense animal violence scenes and she's really sensitive. Anyways, so the last 20 minutes we missed because to my dismay, there were other people in the theater and Addi was DONE. But, what I saw of the movie was SOOO good!!! I just love those Disney Nature films.

Sunday

Such a rainy and yucky day. It's been raining literally ALL day. I'm so tired of this weather! I didn't take any other pictures because we stayed in PJ's all day. So nice. I'm relishing these lazy weekends because our summer has already started to book up and there are just a few weekends here and there that don't already have plans. Tomorrow is cleaning day and errands so I'm soaking up these last few hours of doing nothing!
