A Baby Shower/Playdate!

On Friday, Addi and I hosted a small little baby shower/playdate for one of our good friends Krystal! She is due to have Baby Hayes next week and I can't wait to meet her! I made a quiche for the first time and it turned out pretty good! I think if you have enough cream, cheese and bacon, you just can't go wrong! And I used phyllo dough instead of a regular pie crust.

Addi FINALLY ate a cupcake! She just really has not been that into them, but that day she definitely was!

Addi decided to take a break and blog about how the playdate was going.

After everyone left, Addi helped me clean up. Oh how I wish that vacuum was real!

Josh and Addi went to Texarkana that evening to visit with his grandparents. I stayed behind to work! It's crazy how busy I've been lately!!! I did get a lot done, and I'm glad they are back! When I saw Addi it seemed like she had grown a lot since Friday. Do y'all ever feel that way when your kids leave?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm Loving that Addi bear is spending the night and all day tomorrow with her wonderful Grandpa and Lila! Which means, me and Josh are going on a date tonight! We are going out to eat then heading to the movies to see the Adjustment Bureau. I just hope we can stay awake through the movie!

I'm Loving that Starbucks now has cake pops!!! They have three flavors, but I only tried the birthday cake one! It was very good.


I'm Loving that this sweet couple just found out they are having twins!!! They lost their precious baby boy back in June and this is a HUGE blessing!!! I don't personally know them, but nonetheless I am OVERJOYED for them!!!

Rainy Day Fun!

Yesterday, me and Addi stayed home all day and worked around the house. I say we, because everything I would clean, Addi would do her best to go behind me and make little messes. At least I burned lots of calories with the extra cleaning!

That morning Addi was a little cranky. She usually is in a great mood first thing, but on days she wakes up too early she is just a little bear. Monday was one of those days. I got this idea from Kelly's Korner and decided to try it out. You just get a big bowl of ice and a big bowl of water and a slotted spoon and let them move the ice back and forth. It kept Addi occupied for a good 40 minutes. It honestly didn't make that big of a mess either! Just put some towels down and your good!



We did our Muffin Tin Monday Lunch as well.


We also got this beauty in the mail! I love how ginormous it is!!! Addi surprisingly loved it and wanted to wear it all day. I got it from this etsy seller, who is so super sweet and her bows are so well made and very inexpensive.


Today, was so gloomy and rainy and yuck. We had planned to go to the zoo with our play group, but since it rained, we went to play at the Church at Rock Creek and then ChikFilA for lunch.












We had a great time talking and playing. I think the workers at Chikfila were happy to see us leave! Haha!

Oh and I had to show y'all this, I made it for a sweet little boy who is having a sock monkey themed party! So sweet!

Our Weekend!

We had a great weekend here! We did our usual Saturday lunch with friends at Milford Track. They are always so nice and the food is always good. We left for Russellville that afternoon to go visit our good friends Mia and Evan! Evan made us some BBQ ribs and Mia made the most delicious mac and cheese and other sides to go with it. It was absolutely wonderful food and we had a blast visiting!


Addi had a good time because she got to try Cheetos for the first time. It would be an understatement to say she loved them!


Mia also made homemade banana pudding for dessert! Our diets went out the window last night! Haha!

Addi was playing in Mia's closet, and I noticed the prettiest purple top that she had in her closet. It was SO pretty and perfect that I was contemplating buying it from her. She said it was still at TJ Maxx!!! Oh my word, we couldn't have gotten up fast enough. The funniest part, was when we went to tell Josh where we were going, he was sad because he wanted to go too! So we all went! Josh loves him some TJ Maxx and we all walked out of there with some great deals.

This morning was so so great. I have been praying that we find a new church home. We love our current church, but one of the biggest problems is that the nursery during the service never has anyone working in there! They have a children's church, but it's for older kids. Addi is too busy to sit still with us in the pew, and we don't really want to go and just sit in the nursery and watch her. The other thing is our church is fairly large. We've never really gotten "plugged in" there and I know that your only as active as you make yourself, but in a church of that size, it's hard to make connections when you see a new face each Sunday. So...we went with our friend's Carson and Nichole this morning to a new church. Immediately walking in, it felt right. I know that sounds silly, but so many people said "Hi" to us or smiled and talked to Addi. We went right to the nursery since we were running a little behind and there were 6 kids in there!!! Hallelujah! It was a huge room full of toys and books and they had a little table in there where all the kids were sitting. They actually taught them a little Bible story and they sang songs to them too! It just really touched my heart that this was an answered prayer. I cannot say enough good things about the preacher and his sermon and the entire message. It was just so "right". The church isn't that big, but it's not too small either. We talked with several people after and even the preacher invited us to a Bible study at his home on Wednesday nights. Oh my word. I am just blown away by this answered prayer and I can't wait to go back next Sunday!

Sorry that was kind of a rambling little paragraph above. Haha. We have a fun week planned, but tomorrow is reserved for cleaning and laundry. :( We might have to go have lunch at Chik-Fil-A to make it better. Ha!

Welcome Weekend!

I'm so glad it's Friday! Addi and I had a very relaxing day and I got a lot done around the house. We were supposed to go to Jonesboro, but Addi slept till almost 11 (!!!) and so we decided to postpone our trip to next week.

Addi had a great time playing with my kitchen utensils. I have to be creative these days!

I think she was mad that Dixie wouldn't play with her!


I can't wait to start working on our backyard. I know Addi will be spending a lot of time back here this spring and summer so I really want to make it a nice and pretty place for her to play.




At lunch, Addi wasn't too interested in her lunch, but once I put it in a muffin tin, she went to town. I am so thankful I found that blog!


After her nap, Addi and Dixie had fun playing in her crib.




For dinner tonight, we had Asian Glazed Chicken Thighs. Here is the recipe.


And I ate half that bowl of edamame! So good!

Welcome Spring!

Okay so it's not "officially" spring yet, but it is the first day of March! I'm so excited for the weather to get warmer and the flowers to start blooming and to see all that gorgeous green again!!! Yay!

Today we had a brunch playdate at our house! I didn't take many pictures, but hopefully some of the other girl's will post theirs soon! We had a great group and as usual, we had such fun talking and laughing it was 2:00 before we realized how late it was! Our poor children were practically begging us for naps! After everyone left, Addi was so wound up she didn't sleep. We ended up going to Sonic and she fell asleep before I pulled out of the driveway. I sat and drank my vanilla diet coke and read blogs and checked emails for about an hour before we headed back home. It was pretty nice!

This is my new favorite dress of Addi's. I love absolutely everything about it.

Tomorrow, Addi is going to stay at her Grandpa and Lila's house for the day! I am so excited to have the whole day to work on orders and go out on a date with Josh! Yay!
