Addi's First Day of MDO

Yesterday, Addi went to her very first day of "school." Okay so it was only Mother's Day Out for a few hours, but still. :) She was SO excited to go. I think she thought she would ride on a school bus though, because when we passed one she had a really confused look and said, "I ride?" She was also so proud to carry her backpack. She's growing up. :(

I also tried in vain to get her to look at the camera and smile, but this is all I could do. Haha! It's so hard to get pictures these days.

When I dropped her off at her classroom, she walked in and never looked back. I knew she wouldn't cry, but I was at least hoping for a "bye mama!" Nope! Proud of that big girl. :) She did so great according to her teacher. Ms. Maria noted that she loves goldfish. Haha! She also colored a beautiful picture of a giraffe. After I picked her up, we just walked over to the little cafe and play area for some lunch with friends. Addi requested a cookie and I thought she deserved it.
She took a LONG nap when we got home. Getting up early and playing hard really takes it out of a girl!
Funny Moments from yesterday:

• I realized Tuesday night that I had forms to fill out and supplies to gather before Wednesday. Oops. I realized that at 9 pm too. It was still fun picking out supplies!!!
• We tried to give Dixie her rabies vaccine last night. Oh my word. What an ordeal. We tried EIGHT times and at one point the needle was stuck in her!!! Everytime Josh would stick her she would go crazy and try to bite us! We felt horrible afterwards.
• Addi was in bed last night and had been really quiet for 30 minutes or so after we laid her down. She started screaming saying "there's a snake!!!" I jumped out of bed and ran in there and grabbed her, then went back and looked in her bed. Josh was laughing so hard. I knew there wouldn't be a snake, but I thought maybe a bug?? Nope. While she was laying in bed with us she said "there's the snake using the potty!" and pointed to the bathroom. No clue where that came from!

Menu Monday

Today I am linking up to share our weekly menu. I thought this would be fun and maybe help me be accountable to actually cook this week.

Monday: Crockpot Chicken Tacos. Recipe and image courtesy of here. I've made these before and not only are they really good, but it's one of those recipes you just throw things in the crockpot and walk away. We had a playdate over here today so this is perfect.
Tuesday: Man Pleasing Chicken. Image and recipe courtesy of here. We had this last week and I had to have it again. It's delicious!!!
Wednesday: Sour Cream Noodle bake from Pioneer Woman. This looks super good and we have a lot of ground beef in our freezer right now.
Thursday: Buffalo Chicken Paninis (for Panini Thursday).

Friday: Breakfast for Dinner

Saturday: ???

Sunday: Hopefully date night!

Weekends are Fun!

This weekend was SO much fun. We went down to Texarkana to visit Mur and Granddad for the weekend! Mur cooked my favorite meal Friday night. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra and rolls. DELISH!!!!

Addi worked on her puzzle skills.
Mur also made lemon icebox pie and blackberry cobbler. Ohh soo good.

Then we met up with Whitney and Andrew for lunch!
After lunch, Cade and Eden came back to play. It was so much fun!

Late night mish mash

This is just a really random assortment of thoughts. Being its 2 in the morning, I was trying to go to sleep and thought I would carry on the blogging instead of letting two weeks go by.

First and foremost, this. Comes out in less than 24 hours. I'm beyond excited! I may not go to the midnight preview, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to see it Friday!!!


It's been raining constantly here so we had ourselves a little movie watching afternoon. Addi was super cozy.

Brittany from peas and carrots on etsy made this gorgeous bag and necklace. I haven't figured out how to link from my phone but that's her shop name. So fun to work with and great products!!! She even made something for Suri Cruise!


I might need one in every color now. Haha!

I've also been obsessed with all things buffalo flavored. This grilled cheese looks delish!!!! Again, no link but it's Jennifer from life in the green houses recipe.


This is called buffalo chicken garbage bread and I need it now.


Loving this color combo so so much.


And this just makes me cry with laughter everytime I look at it!
