We had a great weekend and it got extended due to the snow we got last night, but more on that later. We took advantage of the pretty day and temps on Saturday to go eat at our favorite Saturday lunch place, Milford Track. Oh how we've missed it. It was wonderful as usual! When we were leaving, Addi did NOT want us to help her walk to the car. She could do it herself, thank you very much! It was cracking us up how she kept swatting Josh's hand away!
Josh had a speaker to go to after lunch, so me and Addi hit up several fabric stores. It was so funny that I ran into THREE different friends in the Hobby Lobby in North Little Rock! Our first friends we saw were Sara and Lola! I'm glad we ran into them, because Addi was done with being in the shopping cart. We let the girls run around the fabric section to let off some energy. It was so funny to watch them!
I also ran into Hillary again! Addi was throwing a fit because I would not let her down to run around anymore. I know, I'm a mean mommy. :) We didn't really do much the rest of the weekend, just enjoyed being together and being lazy! It was great!
On Sunday, I finally got brave and went to Kroger. The weather was calling for lots of snow that night and we were out of a lot of things. I always think it's nice to have a good soup or chili on a snowy day so I needed to get things for that too. Kroger was MADNESS. Oh my word, I could not have gotten out of there fast enough! I swung by Panera on my way home and got us lunch and bagels for Monday morning. It started snowing around 3 and really picked up around 5. It was still snowing when we went to bed, and several cars were abandoned outside our house. We had chili and cornbread for supper and it was so good. I'm going to post the recipe on my cooking blog later.
We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland. After our breakfast of bagels, we got Addi all bundled up and went outside to play! I felt bad because Addi didn't really have any snow gear, so this is the best we could do. Just know, she has four layers on underneath that raincoat!
Addi just didn't know what to think of the snow. She just really was content to walk around in it and she even cried when we went inside. She's part Yankee so I guess she can acclimate to colder temps. Ha!
Dixie however LOVED being in the snow. She turned into a wild woman and was just running all around.
When we got in and got warm again, we tried out an idea I saw over the weekend. It's called Muffin Tin Monday, and basically you just put your child's lunch in a muffin tin. It was such a cute idea, we had to try it.
This was Addi's lunch, it looks like a ton of food, but she ate all of it minus about three tins.
She went to the pepperoni first, then dipped it in the yogurt. Ew.
It was a successful lunch and will become a tradition every Monday! For the rest of the day, we stayed in our pj's and watched UP. I was weeping through several parts of that movie, but we both agreed in saying it was very good. Addi didn't want to nap, so she watched it with us. Josh made crepes for dessert and he wanted me to take pictures so I could post them over on my recipe blog, so I will have two posts coming soon! Ha!
Addi was just "working" tonight moving these boots from room to room. She is so funny.
Addi capped off the night by sitting in her comfy chair and watching Ratatouille. We love snow days. :)
