Hi everyone! We've been a little MIA around here lately. Addi is pretty sick still and now me and Josh are sick. Boo. On Sunday we took her to the E.R. and she was diagnosed with croup. It's basically a upper respiratory virus, so that means no cure. They gave her a steroid shot to open up her airways a little, but they first tried to give her the steroids in liquid form. Ummm....yeah. The nurse didn't tell me until she got in the room with the medicine that 1/2 the kids that get this down throw it up, and the other half can't even swallow it because it tastes so bad. Not good odds! Haha! So we struggled to get a couple of drops down Addi before she started gagging and then just projectile vomited all over me. The nurse was SHOCKED with how much throw up there was and how far it went! And I would like to think it takes a lot to shock a pediatric nurse! Anyways, we went home and basically we have just been giving her motrin and tylenol to keep her fever down. Sunday night was HORRIBLE. She woke up every 30 minutes and never got a good stretch of sleep. Poor thing! On Monday she was sooo fussy and clingy, I just felt so bad for her. She wanted me, and only me, to hold her for the whole day. I was pretty exhausted come Monday night! Thankfully, my dad went and got a cool mist humidifier to put in her room, and she slept all night on Monday. I woke her up at 5 because she felt kinda warm, she was NOT happy with me when I woke her!
Today has been better. Lila came and helped me clean and disinfect and organize all of Addi's new toys! We really appreciate it! Addi is feeling a little better, she definitely perked up quite a bit! I hope by Friday she is all better.
Hope y'all are having a great week!
