Fabulous Friday!

I am on day two of a full night's rest and I have to say it's so wonderful! Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, because we definitely needed it! Addi is sleeping 10-11 hours straight again and we couldn't be happier. I have so much energy again! Yay!
Okay, so yesterday me and Addi went to a play date group that met up at the zoo. I joined this group because I wanted to get to know more moms who have babies around the same age as Addi so she can have a fun little group of friends to play with. They are such a fun and sweet group, I look forward to going to more fun play dates.

This bow lasted 2.3 seconds before Addi ripped it off.

On to the zoo experience. The first thing we did was go to a "wild bird" show. If you know me well, you know that I am TERRIFIED of owls for some reason. I think it's because my Mimi had a house full of owl figurines and knick knacks when I was growing up and it just freaked me out, not real sure why, I've never been attacked or had an experience with an owl. So of course at this bird show an owl was literally feet away from me and then flew over the crowd really low, the kids loved it, but I almost peed myself! Addi was in her stroller happily munching on her lil crunchies and didn't really pay attention to most of the birds, except for this disgusting vulture.

Absolutely terrifying.
The funny thing was, this wasn't just a bird show, they had snakes and then this little car came out driven by a stuffed squirrel, and in the car were baby possums! Only in Arkansas would baby possums be a feature at a zoo show. Haha, and of course I had to get a picture of Addi with them! I went up to the trainer and said, "I know this is going to sound really weird, but I need a picture of my daughter with one of those possums." Now, before you think I'm a hillbilly redneck, you must know that Josh and Rhen both have pictures when they were little holding baby possums, actually HOLDING them. EWW!!! Josh even has a mullet in his picture! It's the best. Anyways so the trainer held one up while I got a picture of Addi with them. She wanted to baby raptor them so bad, but I think she knew they were nasty and never did.

Next we went and looked at the monkeys, and let me just insert this fun fact about myself, I'm not one of those people who think monkeys are "amazing" and "would totally make an awesome pet!" No people! Monkeys are DANGEROUS wild animals who wouldn't think twice to peel your face like a grape! But I digress. There was a baby gorilla who wouldn't leave his mom alone, even though she was trying to take a nap, I can relate sister! And the dad was just raking his huge arm through the grass over and over again, probably stalling for time because he didn't want to put the baby to sleep. And then there was this creeper gorilla who was just sitting in a corner by himself. Weirdo.

"Just give me 5 minutes puhleeze!"

"I think I lost something over here."

Creeper.

After the monkeys, Addi ate a gogurt then fell asleep. We stopped at a little playground area and let the other kids play and then I realized we needed to go run a quick errand before meeting Rhen for lunch. We said our goodbyes then went to our most favorite place, Target and then headed downtown to meet Rhen. We ate at Big Whiskey's and FYI for all the moms out there. Big Whiskey's does not have a changing table in their bathroom and I'm sorry for horrifying the lady that was in the bathroom when I promptly changed Addi's dirty diaper on the sink. Sorry, but what am I supposed to do!? We ate lunch with Jeanette and then went back to the house and played for a little bit before going back out to get Josh from work.

Addi mad because she couldn't have more crunchies.
We headed to Searcy after we picked up Josh to watch Emma and Amber in the junior high's version of High School Musical! They both did such a great job! After the play we went to Doc's to eat. I had a delicious steak and enjoyed most of it standing up, because Miss Priss was up wayyy past her bedtime and wouldn't allow me to sit down longer than 5 seconds.

We got home and put Addi to bed, and then watched some of our shows we had missed last week. The perfect ending was as I was falling asleep a thunderstorm started which helped me slip off into a deep deep sleep. It's already been a great weekend so far!
