A day at the pool

Yesterday, we went to searcy so I could get my hair done. Addi loves her papas house SO much, and now it's warm enough to swim! Yay!!!

Addi at 2.5 years old

I thought I would do a post on Addi since I haven't in awhile. She is at such fun age right now! We are constantly laughing at what she says and does. I love how a toddler's mind works. :)

Just some funnies:

• One night when we were saying prayers, she thanked God for "her chickens and soccer balls." We don't own either!
• We went and picked up our friend Michele yesterday for lunch and on the way, Addi said, "yep were gonna go get Michele, but we're not going to scare her!"
• "I no like it" is a favorite phrase.
• We were asking Addi what her favorite cupcake was. She declared chocolate, then told us she didn't like vanilla or strawberry cupcakes even though she does.
• This kid has an incredible memory. Months ago, we had a playdate at our house and she took a toy from Ava. I got onto her and told her to share. Every time I tell her where we are going and if Ava is going to be there, she says, "and I share with Ava." Haha!
• The past few days Addi has been handing me a "map" and we go find treasures. She completely made this game up on her own.
• I'll ask Addi what she's doing and she says, "umm nufing!" 
• She thinks tooting is the FUNNIEST thing in the world. She cracks herself up when she does it.
• We've been attempting to potty train, but Addi isn't ready. She peed on the floor multiple times one day. I asked her if she did in fact pee on the floor and she said, "yeah, I peed there." 
• A few times someone has complimented Addi on her bow, saying, "oh that's a pretty bow!" She just says, "yeah!!!" really enthusiastically. 

Oh Addi, you just continue to be such a joy in our lives and to the people around you. We love you so much angel bear!!!!

Warrior Dash and Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's reading this! I hope y'all have had a fabulous day! 

We had a great weekend! Friday night, Rhen and Michael came and visited Addi for a little bit. She was BEYOND excited. She watches "Aggie Swag" at least once a day and so when she saw Michael, and it clicked that HE sang her favorite song, she was so tickled. 

So happy and SO excited. 

Haha!

Saturday morning, we got up early to head to Amity for Warrior Dash! When we pulled up, we saw that schoolbuses were serving as the shuttles to the race. Addi was beside herself to finally get to ride on one of these!

This race was so much fun. We weren't at full capacity though, Josh had rolled his ankle just over a week ago, and I still have some crud in my chest, so we didn't try to go full speed. We finished it in 1:24, which is a little slow, but hey, we had fun! The obstacles were my favorite part, except for the ones that involved heights. Like a fireman's pole, and a giant cargo net you had to climp up and over. Other than that, it was a blast!

We had a great Mother's Day! Josh and Addi spoiled me with breakfast in bed and some great gifts! I love being a mom SO much. :)

Catching Up

Long time no blog, huh? We've been sickly this week with sore throats and so everything has taken a backseat. I'm working hard to get caught up though! :)

Last Thursday, we went to WonderPlace! We just love this place. Addi had a blast and what was even more fun, was there was a field trip there that day too! It could have been a nightmare, but the kids were so well behaved and just sweet as could be. Addi was so excited about their school bus too. I wish I would have asked if she could have ridden just for a minute. :)

Have y'all tried these delicious things yet?? SOOO good. It's dangerous that there is a place you can get GOOD drive through cookies. Just sayin.

Princess dress up time! 

I was so happy about this, I had to document. Addi hardly ever eats anything we do. I know that's terrible, but she is super picky and we don't really want to eat pizza and chicken nuggets every night for dinner. ;) Anyways, I made oven fries and she LOVED them. Sweet!

We declared Saturday morning, donut morning. 

Saturday night, we had some friends over for Cinco de Mayo. Josh made yummy fajitas and guacamole for us. Sunday, we went and saw AVENGERS!!! Oh it was so good. I think we are going to see it again this weekend. Haha! Nerds. 

This picture is from this Wednesday. That's right. No pictures for two days. That's what yucky sickness will do to ya. Addi looked so sweet though in her ladybug outfit. 

She made this at MDO! I'm so impressed!!! And I will cherish this forever. 

Today, we went downtown, again, to go ride the trolley and see the ducks. Haha! It seems like we do this alot, but it's so much fun! 

Belle and Addi were wrestling today and it was cracking me up. They love each other so much. :)

Chicken Fried Memories

Tuesday, we met up with a few playgroup buds at the Farmer's Market! I love that Addi is going in for a meaningful, closed eye hug, while holding a robin's egg. So awesome.

Addi immediately thought that the stands of fruit were free and grabbed an apple. Haha! Luckily, I brought cash, and the nice man thought it was funny. 

She carried that apple around for awhile.

We were pretty sure one of the kids was going to fall into this koi pond. Thankfully, nobody did.

Another great thing about the RiverMarket is all the choices for lunch! I got this pan seared tilapia with a chimmichurri sauce and mango salsa. Delish!

And for dessert, a pineapple cilantro popsicle!

Next up was the trolley! Addi's favorite thing in the world right now. :)

For dinner that night, I fried up some squash that I picked up that morning. I also fried some chicken!!! It's been a long time since I've done that. I finally perfected what my mom's fried chicken tasted like. This was and still is my favorite meal. Isn't it funny how certain foods and smells can take you back to childhood? Gosh, I've been missing her a whole lot lately. But, this meal reminded me of the love she had for us and the great memories of playing outside for what seemed like all day and to come in and see my favorite meal on the table. It makes me wistful, but at the same time excited to see what Addi's favorite memories are. :)
