Surprise Party!!!

I was going to put the blog post title as SURPRISE!!! But I thought most people would think it was about something else. :) So let's just be honest here, I was not so happy to share my birthday this year with Father's Day. I know, that sounds horrible, but sorry! I did feel horrible when Josh asked if I was cooking a special Father's Day meal on Monday since I didn't Sunday. Whoops, dropped the ball on that one! I told him when we get back from the beach I will cook him a gourmet meal. Which is great for me too because I've been spending a lot of time on this site and I want to make everything on it! Anyways, so I wasn't really "bummed out" because I had gotten the coolest present EVER, but I was just kind of sad that my birthday wasn't really recognized since it was on a Sunday and the same day as Father's Day and we didn't get to celebrate with friends like normal. Well, Josh TOTALLY surprised me tonight. He told me that his dad and Jeanette were coming to take us out to dinner since they still had by bday present. They asked where I wanted to go, and if you know me, you know I HATE choosing a place. So I told them to pick since I didn't like choosing and I would let them know if I didn't like it. Scott suggested Cantina Laredo, which I'm always game for. We showed them my new camera and what awesome pics it takes!

Addi was pushing them together to kiss. SO CUTE. She was doing this with a boy and girl Barbie the other day also. It kind of scared me at first, but then I realized she watches Josh kiss me goodbye everyday when he goes to work so it's just really sweet.


Once we got to Cantina, I noticed this guy in the parking lot and I was like, man he looks ALOT like Kris Allen. Well it was! More on that later... So when we walked in I was wondering to myself if that really was Kris Allen and I didn't see Scott and J and Josh step to the side to let me go in front and I looked up and I thought I saw Evan (one of our friends who I thought was in Hawaii) and looked down then did a double take and saw the whole table full of friends!!! I was SHOCKED!!! I couldn't believe it and I was so happy that everyone came out. What is funny is two years ago, Josh did the same thing for my bday, even at Cantina Laredo. Haha, I guess I'm just easy to surprise?

At one point, the manager carried Addi around since she was DONE with sitting still. This happens most everywhere we go. I feel bad because she reaches for people and most of them feel obligated to pick her up? Haha! She was so funny though, she just LOVES to be the center of attention so she did a couple of her signature moves at the table.

So I never got to talk or get a picture with Kris Allen. Turns out today was his birthday and he was there with his fam celebrating and 1. I am PAINFULLY shy when it comes to celebrities. Not that I've ever met one, but once I thought I saw Paula Deen somewhere and I almost hyperventilated trying to think of what to say to her. 2. I felt bad and didn't want to annoy him by interrupting his bday dinner. I've heard he is such a nice and down to earth guy, I'm sure he would have obliged, but I just couldn't. :)

I got some wonderful gifts and I really enjoyed seeing and talking with everyone! Thank you to everyone who came out and a HUGE shout out to Josh for being the BEST husband on the planet and for being just one of the most selfless, supportive, loving and kind people out there. I'm SO lucky to be married to this guy y'all. He is amazing. Wow, did I just renew my wedding vows?

And I realize that I sound like a major brat saying I didn't feel like my birthday was recognized, because y'all should see my facebook wall and texts. I am blessed!!! I'm just a brat. :)

New Camera

I have been playing with my new camera today and I thought I would share some pictures. I'm still getting used to it, and I have a lot to learn. Luckily, the place that Josh bought it from offers a free lesson! I will be going sometime in July and I can't wait!








It's safe to say Addi is pretty annoyed with me right now! Haha! I'm going to try and back off the pictures of her and just go back to the regular amount. :)

Father's Day and Birthday Weekend!

This past weekend was a fun one! On Friday, Addi and I had a girl's night in complete with pizza! This girl took down 2 1/2 slices!!! I couldn't believe it. She never eats more than a bird, so I was really surprised when she ate that much!

On Saturday, we picked my dad up at the airport! We took him to eat lunch at Milford Track.


We were all really tired so we took naps and once we woke up, we went to dinner at Flying Fish! I LOVE this place, the catfish is so good. Addi loved it too! She loved the ketchup the most, but she ate a few bites of fish.



After dinner, dad showed Addi how to make paper airplanes! She loved it!



On Sunday, we headed to Searcy for a Father's Day/Birthday lunch. Addi LOVED the dogs!


For dinner, we went to Outback! Addi was SO good through dinner!



Once we got home, Josh gave me my birthday present. I was SHOCKED!!! I LOVE it and can't wait to actually learn how to use it! Haha!

Backyard Pool Party

Yesterday, we went over to Leslie and Brilie's house for a fun backyard pool party/tie dying party! Yes, we actually tie dyed this time! Leslie was such a great hostess and had two little kiddie pools plus sprinklers set up in her backyard. Addi thought this was the greatest time ever!












We also had BBQ for lunch so that will always make something more fun! Addi was SUPER tired when we got home and took a really long nap. Must get a pool for the backyard! :)

Yay for days like today!

Today was just the best day. Addi and I joined Michelle and Lily at the Rave for a free movie! We thought they were showing Over the Hedge, because that's what was on the website, but we ended up seeing Megamind. I was cracking up all through the movie, but I was worried it might be too scary for Addi. I was SOOOO proud of her for sitting through the whole movie!!! Granted, Michelle gave Addi a sucker during the last part, because otherwise we would have had to get up and leave. Thanks Michelle!!!

After the movie, we went to Chick fil A to meet up with the rest of the playgroup! I also have to brag on Addi, because usually she eats one french fry then she wants to go play. I think since we sat on the opposite end and she couldn't see the playground, she sat with me the whole time. That never happens! Also, when we did go play there were no crazy kids this time! Just a sweet little boy who helped Addi down the slide.

We also went and picked up Jeanette's nephew, Jonathan at the airport. Addi LOVES Jonathan. Last summer when he was here, Addi only wanted him to hold her.

As soon as she saw him at the airport, she just CHEESED and was so excited to see him. They read books and played most of the afternoon.



I took them to meet Jeanette once she got done working and Addi was saying "papa?" "papa?" She missed them!!! After I dropped them off, I headed to Jason's Deli for a girl's night! I had SO much fun and it makes me love our church even more now! The girls that were there were hilarious and just so sweet. We stayed there talking for 2 1/2 hours! So nice to enjoy a girl's night out!

Tomorrow, I'm going to try to be productive since I don't have Addi with me! But all I really want to do is go lay out by the pool! Haha!

Our Weekend Sans Pics

So, I am SO sad because this afternoon I was messing around on my camera and accidentally deleted all my pictures from this weekend. Sad day!!! Ugh, anyways, we had a BLAST this weekend.

Friday
I dressed Addi in the cutest outfit in the world. Haha! My aunts had brought her this sweet little MudPie outfit and I took some pictures of her outside in it. Sweetness. Just means we'll have to have another little photo shoot. Friday night we stayed in and just hung out at the house. Josh grilled the most amazing turkey burgers. Seriously, I thought they were better than a regular burger, and that's saying alot. :)

Saturday
We went to our usual Milford Track for lunch. I got the chicken avacado club. Oh it is so so good. I ate the whole thing because it was just delicious. I also had one too many of their chocolate chip cookies too. :) We ran some errands after lunch and we tried unsuccessfully to get Addi to nap. Carson and Nichole came for dinner and we grilled out again! We had mahi mahi with mango salsa, roasted veggies, grilled pineapple, rice pilaf and cupcakes for dessert. It was such a pretty meal, I'm sad I deleted that picture! After dinner, Nichole and I went running. We were so proud and thought we had ran 2 miles straight, but then Josh tracked our run and we had only ran a little over a mile. :( Still a good workout and it had just rained so it was nice and cool.

Sunday
We went to church and Addi came face to face with the biter again. I think she remembered him because she was pretty apprehensive to be there. I stayed for a little while because he had just bit another child so I wanted to make sure Addi just knew to stay out of his way. A sweet nursery worker kept an eye out on her and there were no more incidents! I also signed up for VBS! I'm so excited!!! I've never been involved with VBS (besides as a child) so I'm pretty pumped. If y'all want to come out, it's at Chenal Valley Church of Christ, July 11-14th!!!

Nichole and I went shopping after lunch and we got some pretty good deals at the Bath and Body Works sale. Seriously, too many deals! :) For dinner, we had several people over to watch the NBA finals. Josh smoked a pork loin, I made these mashed potatoes that were mashed potatoes with: cream cheese, butter, sour cream, and milk then I put them in a casserole dish and topped it with cheese and FRENCH FRIED ONIONS. Oh my word, these were DELICIOUS!!!! I could not stop eating them! While the rest of the people were watching the game, Nichole and I did the plyometrics workout. I am so proud to say, we finished the whole thing. I couldn't believe it. I was wearing a heart monitor and it said we burned 820 calories. Good thing, because I'm pretty sure I ate that in just potatoes. :)

Lazy Days are the Best Days

Today, Addi and I stayed at home in our pj's all day long. In fact, I am still in my pj's. :) I feel like we've been on the go so much lately, so it was nice just to do nothing. Plus, poor Addi is teething and hasn't felt good all day.

This morning we kicked it off with some breakfast. Is anyone else's toddlers getting more picky? I didn't think it was possible, but Addi has eliminated about half the foods she used to eat. I'm at a loss. Luckily, she can say what she wants now so that helps a little.



We read books for awhile. And I say "read" very loosely. Addi just hands me book after book and says, "see!" and I don't get a chance to open a page before she gets another one.

Like whoa.


After books, we grouped our plastic food into groups and practiced eating our vegetables. Haha, she has NO problem trying these, but when it comes to the real thing, she refuses.

We also made 680 cups of tea today.


After that, it was time for best Justin Bieber hair look alike contest. Addi won.

I asked her to give me a sweet smile.


We attempted a nap, but little bear woke up after 45 minutes with that sick sounding cry. Oh and should I mention, the first time I tried to lay her down, two minutes later she got her legs stuck in the slats? Yes, she did. And I couldn't push them out so I called Josh slightly hysterical asking him to come home. He asked if I had tried to turn her leg. Slid right out. I am in awe of my brain somedays, or lack thereof. Anyways, so we cuddled on the couch and watched Shrek 3 for the billionth time. Yup, those are cheetos. Don't judge me.



I like to call this the mom my teeth hurt face.



I love this.



After Shrek, we played with our babies. We fed, changed, rocked and put them to sleep. Addi LOVES babies. Especially real life babies, she always wants to hold them and gets a little upset if she can't. :)




We were SOOO happy when Daddy came home!!! Haha!

So that was our day. I know it was painfully boring, but it was just what we needed! Hope y'all had a great day!!!
