Chocolate Weekend

We had a FABULOUS weekend!!! I will start with Friday. We woke up to the roads being still pretty slick, but by noon most of the ice had melted. Josh went on in to work, so me and Addi decided to get out too. We went to Chik fil a for lunch, then Target, Hobby Lobby and Sonic. After being cooped up for two days, it was wonderful to get out.

And don't worry, we didn't let her drink too much. :)

Friday night, our friend Puneet came over to do henna on my hands for the Chocolate Ball. I ended up not wearing a sari, but I still thought it looked really cool!



Saturday was a pretty laid back day. We went and ate at Milford Track then got ready for the Chocolate Ball. I'll just skip ahead and show you pictures from the ball. It was AMAZING. When you first come in, they have wall to wall chocolate set up along with tons of silent auction items. We won a couple of really cool things, Josh and his dad won a golf trip for 4 to Branson, Jeanette got a really pretty necklace and then me and Josh got a gift card for dinner for 2 at U.S. pizza, a $50 gift card to the Fountain and get this....13 loaves of bread from Boulevard Bread! We had no clue, all it said was Baker's Dozen from Boulevard, and we thought they were talking about cupcakes. Haha! We were so excited, perhaps a little too excited considering it was bread.





It was such a fun night and I look forward to next year's!

Addi looked so cute in her little Valentine shirt, I had to put some pics of her on here. Tomorrow is our Valentine's day play date! I'm so excited!

Snow Day: Round 2

I can't believe we got another snow day! And from the looks of it, we'll be getting one tomorrow too! Josh got an email from UAMS saying they were under inclement weather for tomorrow so I'm excited he gets to stay home another day.

We had a blast today. Addi slept till 10 which was wonderful! And we made homemade waffles for breakfast. They were oh so good.


After we got done with breakfast, we bundled up and headed out to play. Addi had about 5 layers on and I'm not exaggerating! She was having a hard time walking. I told Josh next year I'm getting her proper snow gear!



Lucky for us, both Addi and Dixie LOVE the snow. Dixie is a wild woman when she gets out there and she was full throttle till we went back inside. I don't know what gets into her!






By the end of the day, there were two cars that got stuck in our yard. They tried for a long time to get unstuck and ended up just abandoning one of the cars. I guess whatever melted froze back up after it got dark and made the hill beside our house worse. I told Josh and Kyle they were probably trying to make it to Sonic. And then Josh asked me if I was having withdrawals from my daily vanilla diet cokes. The answer: YES! We might get out tomorrow and go get one!

For dinner we had chicken fried steak! Josh actually made this and it was FANTASTIC!!! I kinda forget sometimes what a good cook Josh is, because I usually make most of our meals. He also cleaned up the kitchen afterwards! Yes, be jealous! :)


Of course, I had to play on my monogram machine some today. I made one girl's Easter shirt and finished up some little boy shirts. I also made this little pig onesie, but I'm going to switch out the bow for a smaller one since Josh said it was too big.

Snow Day!!!

Well the weather people were right! We got an EPIC snowstorm today! Actually, I think it started last night, but it kept up literally all day. We couldn't believe how much snow there was, and it just kept coming! So exciting! Josh made it to work and back safely so that was a major praise. I was so worried, I packed him a bag to take that was full of snacks and drinks in case he got stuck. I always like to prepare for the absolute worst.

Me and Addi had a wonderful snow day while he was gone. We had sausage balls for breakfast, lots of hot chocolate and some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.


And Addi took a long nap for momma, so I created this precious little set. I am LOVING this font so much!

After Addi woke up from her nap, I tried to get some cute pictures in her chair by the snowy window. Umm...this is the best one we got. Haha!

When Josh got home, we had some wonderful chili! Here is the recipe.

We then polished off the rest of the Butterfinger cake. Addi was a big fan.

Then Josh braved the cold and measured the snow on our deck. 6 inches! Crazy!!!


We attempted to do our Valentine's tonight. Addi had a blast putting the stickers on the little cards. We will finish them tomorrow. I'm glad I forgot reserved them for this special snow day. :)



Tomorrow I am hoping to get several things done around the house while Josh watches Addi. I really need to clean out closets and get things a little more organized around here! We will see, I may end up not doing much of anything! Haha! Hope y'all had a great day!

Fun Day

If this post sounds strange or really random, here is why, I stayed up till 3 A.M. last night embroidering! Crazy I know, but I was just in a zone and I got so much done. It's starting to get REALLY addicting. I had to stop because my machine started to smell like burnt rubber! I think it was trying to tell me it needed a break. I need a name for my machine too, I'm still thinking about one! Any suggestions?

Anyways, so today we went to a super fun play date over at our friend Cheryll's house. We had a great group of moms there and all the kids had a blast playing together.








I made a butterfinger cake to share, I wish I would have gotten a picture, but it's nothing pretty, but it sure is good! I got the recipe from here. It was SOOO good and SOOO easy. Can't get better than that!

After our play date, Addi and I ran errands. We are supposed to be getting the snowstorm of a lifetime tomorrow, so I wanted to get some things taken care of in case we are snowed in for awhile. I'm excited about all the snow coming, but Josh has to finish one of his work things tomorrow at 3 and I'm just getting worried that he is going to get stuck up there or have problems coming back home. (Would y'all say a prayer for him to make it home safely? Thank you!) When we got back to the house, I let Addi watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse since we missed it this morning. Oh my word, she was SOO excited! She started breaking it down during the opening music and then at the end during the hot dog dance. This is a clip that I got of her dancing. It cracks me up!


This little girl keeps me on my toes for sure!


So here are few things I finished. I just really love creating things for people!


Oh and for dinner, I made Pioneer Woman's chicken picatta. It was so good. Here is the recipe.

Our Weekend!

On Friday, we got a snow day! Josh still went to work because the roads weren't that bad, but it snowed mostly all day so me and Addi didn't get out at all. Addi surprised me by immediately going to get a bow as soon as she got out of her crib. :)

Addi has had a little cold the past few days so on Friday all she really wanted to do was cuddle and watch movies. Which we did! Addi also showed off her new mopping skills! This is one of her favorite things to do now. Not complaining ONE BIT! Haha!


That night during her bath, Addi shared some of her bath water with Dixie. Poor Dixie was apparently dying of thirst because Addi put some dog food in her water bowl. I hadn't seen it and Dixie almost jumped in the tub with Addi just to get some water. :( I find myself changing Dixie's water three times a day.


We really did get snowed in Friday night, we even had a car get stuck in our yard. Saturday morning we made a delicious breakfast of buttermilk cheddar biscuits, southwestern breakfast taquitos, and hash browns. Sooo good. Addi was feeling a little better so she was showing off with some hilarious faces.

Saturday night, Josh headed to Searcy to have a guy's night, so me and Addi got some Mexican food and had a girl's night! Actually, after she went to bed I went to work! I sewed/embroidered for about five hours before my needle got caught on sleeve of a shirt I was embroidering, and broke. :( Josh knows how to fix it so I went to bed! Addi woke up a little while after I went to bed coughing, she has some gunk in her chest right now so hopefully she can get over it soon. Anyways, so Sunday morning we both slept in late. After breakfast, Addi colored for a little bit.


And then she got stuck in the laundry hamper.

We then got ready and went to Searcy! Josh's dad throws a superbowl party every year and it does not disappoint. We always have a great time pigging out on the great food. I don't think I watched a minute of the game because I was having too much fun catching up with friends. I present to you now: Super Bowl 2011.







Today, we went and ate lunch with one of our besties, Michele! And then she even accompanied us on a Kroger trip, it was wonderful. And Addi gave her sweet hugs.

And then she was silly again.

I hear we are supposed to get anywhere from 8-11 inches of snow on Wednesday! I'm excited, but at the same time Josh HAS to finish an experiment Wednesday afternoon so I'm hoping he can still make it up there safely!
