New York: The Happenings

I talked all about the food in the last New York post, now I'm going to talk about what all we did!

Saturday

Josh's aunt and uncle live about 30 minutes outside the city, so we took a train into Grand Central. I immeidatley recognized it from the animated movie, Madagascar.

We got to our hotel, checked in, changed clothes, then went to meet Mur and Granddad for dinner. After dinner, we saw, The Phantom of the Opera. Ahhh!!!!!! This was SUCH a good show! I highly recommend it.

Once we got out of the show, we took a RICKSHAW to Serendipity. Bahahahaha. Ever since I watched that one Seinfeld episode, I have always wanted to do this. Our guy was SO super fast and it was a little scary since he was dodging cabs and weaving in and out of traffic. We were thankful to have made it there in one piece! :)

Sunday

After breakfast, we went to the Museum of Natural History. We walked through Central Park and I've never seen so many people running. Like, hundreds of people just out jogging. It was such a gorgeous day so I didn't blame them. :)

After the museum is when we went to Magnolia, then we went to the HUGE H&M store to shop, then to Lombardi's to eat. We went to the Empire State Building that night. I am really scared of heights so I was nervous the whole time and had to hold onto something the entire time. haha! We also tried to take a picture, but the flash blinded us, so we look pretty silly.

In the long line waiting to go on the roof, there was a King Kong in the lobby taking pictures.
haha!

Monday

We went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island!

At Ellis Island, Josh searched for his family. We found his great great grandfather that came over from Germany in the records. So neat!!!! We've already traced my family back to the American Revolution so I couldn't search for anyone. :(

And then here is a picture of all of us after dinner Monday night.

When we were walking back to our hotel, we walked past the Rockefeller Center and decided to go up. If we had to do it over again, we would have just done this. Hardly any lines, and still pretty much the same view. It took us almost 2 hours to go up the Empire state building and come back down. Too long!

So that sums it up! I'm SO ready to go back already!!!
