Today we went to the Splash Park that is downtown. It is so much fun! Last year, Addi wasn't walking so I had to hold her over the little jets and she didn't really enjoy it that much. This year, she is a wild woman so she LOVED this place!
All of our friends were there too! Except for Michelle, Sara Q., Sara B., and Cheryll! We missed you guys!
The only bad part of the day was when Addi fell on some SUPER hot(like lava hot) spongy board and couldn't get up, bless her heart. She had walked through this tunnel and I was sitting on the opposite side of the tunnel, so when she tripped and started screaming, I didn't even know it was her. It honestly sounded like a boy because it was so deep. When I saw it was her, you could have put a truck in front of me and I would have pushed it out of the way. She was SO scared and in a lot of pain. It was so hot and painful she couldn't even move. I will never ever get that picture out of my head for the rest of my life. Granted, she was fine ten minutes later, with no permanent damage, but we were both pretty shaken up!
They other bad part was at the park there was this random older man. I'm going to try and paint this picture as best I can without sounding too judgy or what not, but he was probably in his 40's, and something wasn't quite right with him. It bothered us, because he wasn't there with a child, which is totally fine! It was just creepy because he would talk to our kids and get too close and stuff and it just made the hair on the back of my neck stand up a little. I'm sure y'all have felt that feeling too, when just something isn't right. So we watched our little babies like hawks. The other weird thing, was the older lady he was with was taking pictures of all the kids on her cell phone. That creeped me out big time. One of the girl's with us asked her what she was doing and she said she was emailing them to some of the moms that were there. She left a short time later. It was just creepy and it bothered all of us. I'm of the school of thought, you can't be too careful.
Geez, I feel like the last two posts I've written have come across the wrong way. Josh is always telling me to calm down, but my mom was the exact same way. I remember her talking about what would happen if someone hurt us and it's the same way I feel now. Anyways, maybe the next posts won't be as dramatic! :)
Hope y'all had a great day!!!
Homecoming!

One time at splash park a guy drove a motorcycle to the part where you walk up, dismounted the bike while it was still running and the bike took off on its own for about 15 feet before falling over. By some amazing stroke of luck, all of the kids there that day were all on the other side of the splash place and were missed by the runaway motorcycle. Remember how bad I walked at the end of my pregnancy? I was like a Kenyan runner getting to Rylan, jumping over people and grabbing other peoples kids for them on the way. It was insane. What is with the splash park? Why do the freaks go there. I'll pack my mace when I go!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad we missed!...but not sad about missing the creepy man and his photo-taking lady friend. :( Can't be too careful about that stuff, for sure.
