I am a mid twenties stay at home mom to a beautiful little girl named Addison! My husband is currently saving the world, one cancer cell at a time. We have one little furry child named Dixie who was our baby before Addi, and now she is having an existential meltdown because she is no longer the center of attention. I love cooking, reading, planning parties, girly things for my girly girl, my amazing family and friends and trashy reality TV!
Sad news. Our dog Remus who we have had for a little over a year, went missing on Christmas! We came home to find him gone, we think he must have dug out under the fence. We are just heartbroken about it though. He has been the sweetest dog ever, and we really miss him. We called the pound Monday and no sign of him there. I made a flyer to put up around the neighborhood. Hopefully he will turn up soon! If not, maybe he has gone on to another family.
Well sadly Christmas is over, but it was one of the best ones we've ever had! Not only was it Addie's first Christmas and she is the best present ever, but Josh and I both got everything we wanted! It was so much fun seeing family and showing Addie off to everyone. I think she is a little spoiled now since she was held constantly over the past four days! She also laughed for the first time on Christmas! Her Aunt Honey (Rhen) was talking to her on the way to Texarkana and made her laugh! Ha ha Addie also got lots of good stuff including her monitor so now we can put her in her crib! She is still sleeping through the night, so we are very blessed. We put up her doorway jumper in hopes that she would jump away for hours, but she still hasn't quite got the concept down. I'm sure it will happen soon, but for now she just hangs there and stares at the toys! I said last year that I really wanted to have a baby at Christmas because it's sad to take down all the decorations and if you have a baby to play with then it's not so bad! So the next couple of days will include taking down the decorations and playing with Addie and all our new toys!
Last night Addi slept....8 hours straight! Holy cow, this is such a huge milestone for me! I laid her down at 11:30 and she must have been real tired cause she went right to sleep then I went to bed around 12:30 and then when I woke up because I heard her stirring, I noticed there was a lot of light in the room so I looked at my phone and it said 7:15!!! Yay Addi! So I fed her then she went right back to sleep and didn't wake up again till 10:15! Best baby in the world.
Well the house is decorated and the lights are hung outside!! All our shopping is almost done so we are very excited and enjoying the Christmas season. Addi is doing great, she is very alert these days and always wanting to look around at things. She gets fussy if you hold her against your chest where she can't see. Ha ha We had a great visit with Dad, we can't wait for him to come back, or to visit him in Hawaii. Were getting ready for a lot of traveling in the next week or so. We are very lucky Addi loves her carseat so much! :)
Well we survived Thanksgiving! We ate ALOT. Addi was a little upset with me because all the rich food I ate upset her tummy a little. Sorry Addi! I just couldn't help myself! :) We are in the process of putting up our Christmas decorations, each year I think I need more, but then I start unpacking all the boxes and realize that I am running out of room to put things. We are so excited for Addi's first Christmas, but I can't wait until next year when she is old enough to maybe understand a little better about what's going on. Ha ha She is very close to laughing soon I think. When she gets really excited she will start flailing her arms and legs and making sort of a coughing noise but she's smiling so I think she is trying very hard to laugh. It's really funny to watch. Next week my dad comes to visit and he will get to see Addi for the first time!
