Go Away Bugs!

Let me just start by saying, we have had some bug drama here lately. On Sunday, Addi flipped out when she was in her little toy drawer in the kitchen and she got a felt ladybug stuck between her fingers. Like she was TERRIFIED. It was so sad to see her scared but we tried to tell her it was just a fake bug, but she wasn't having it. Anyways, later that day she saw a piece of a stick Dixie had brought in and freaked out again. Bless her heart.

So, last night, we were about to put Addi to bed and I saw this huge red welp on her arm. Mind you, we had been in the same room watching Tangled and there was no yelp or indication she had been bitten. I was just sick to my stomach thinking it was a spider bite, so we watched it and made sure she wasn't running fever, then put her to bed. She woke up several times and at her 4 a.m. wakeup, we put her in bed with us and she started crying in pain and jerking her legs and scratching. We looked and she had several more welps on her legs and arms. :( I felt terrible!!! We really weren't sure what they were and she still wasn't running a fever. She ended up going back to sleep close to 6.

When she woke up, the welps were still there. We were supposed to have a playdate here this morning, but half the group cancelled because of sickness and so I just felt like I needed to find out what this was before other kids come over and risk getting whatever Addi had! I called Josh's mom and described what was going on and she said it sounded like a bad reaction to an ant or flea bite. I checked Dixie real good and she's clear, and I saw two ants in our kitchen today. I'm guessing that's what it is. I've changed every linen in our house, vacuumed, and sprayed around our doorways. By this afternoon, the welps had gone down quite a bit, so I am very thankful for that!

*Sorry for that long story. Ha!*

Addi and I had a very yummy breakfast this morning to make up for the long night.

And will someone tell Addi she is growing up too fast!!!! Ahh, she looks so big here! I can't believe I'm about to have a 2 year old!

Tonight, Addi went to her grandparents and I went to dinner and a movie with some girls from church. We saw the Help, and it was amazing. I cried, I laughed, I cried some more. If you haven't seen it yet, GO! Seriously, it is such a great movie. :)

Hope y'all had a great day!!!

Monday Monday

First....the winner of the ADORABLE Halloween bow from Sara is............NICKI!!!! Congrats Nicki! I hope you enjoy your bow just as much as I do! Aren't giveaways just so much fun? I think I might do one soon for something in my shop. :)

So onto today. We had so much fun!!! We got a visit from Kelli and Connor! Connor is just a few months younger than Addi, and from reading Kelli's blog, I feel like I know him! Haha! Him and Addi are so much alike in their personalities, so it was fun to see them interact. We took them to Chick fil A, because where else do you take two toddlers on a hot muggy day? :)

After lunch was some playtime!

An attempted hug...

After that, we headed to Target for a little shopping!

We had such a great time Connor! Thank you for coming to play with us!

Another bright spot of my day was my fall smocked goodies are coming in! I've been hitting up the pre-order and auction websites for smocked stuff on facebook. I really need to stop because this is just the beginning! :)

*Blogger isn't letting me upload this right so sorry it's turned wrong.*

Hope y'all had a great day!

Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend here! Let me start with Thursday though since I haven't blogged since then! :)

I've been trying to get caught up with orders, so last week was spent doing a WHOLE lot of this...

I did take a break to eat some delicious Mexican food Thursday night with Carson and Nichole.

On Friday, Addi and I made some sausage balls for breakfast. She kept checking in on them and saying, "sausage?!"

We had a lazy day and just stayed in our PJ's and watched Tangled a few times. It's Addi's favorite right now.

*Friday afternoon while Addi was napping, I was doing some orders and all of the sudden, my machine just started totally messing up. Something is really wrong with the bobbin because about every 10-15 minutes I have to take it out and re-adjust it or else it will start clumping up the thread and ruin the shirt.Umm....yeah....incredibly frustrating. I'm hoping to get it fixed today.*

Friday evening, we headed to Searcy to celebrate Papa's birthday!!!

Addi always has such a great time playing with the kids.

Saturday, we went and had lunch at Milford Track. We just love going there. Josh and Kyle got ribs to smoke for dinner. Emily and Stephen also came to dinner and Emily brought the most AMAZING mac and cheese of your life. We also had chocolate cake and Emily brought oreo cheesecake as well. Oh my word, best meal EVER.

On Sunday, we decided to skip church. :( Addi stayed up pretty late the night before and we thought it would be best to let her sleep.

I think this week is going to be a lot calmer than last week. Haha! I'm now just a week behind on orders so it's not as overwhelming now. If I can just get my machine fixed, it will be all good! :)

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!!

Organizing and Cleaning

Two of the most boring words ever, right? I don't think so! If you have been on twitter lately, or read some of the blogs, everyone is going nuts over these things called Life Planners. They are super cute and customizable planners from Erin Condren. I had already bought my planner when these started getting lots of hype, but I think mine works just as well. I only use the planner to write down events on the calender so I can use it as a quick reference. What I'm really obsessed with is my home organization binder. (Seriously, you can stop reading here if your already bored to tears. It ain't gonna get much better!) I saw this on another blog and then it kept popping up on Pinterest. I knew I needed something to keep track of every little thing, and it really helps if I have lists to mark off.

My binder consists of a little planning notebook that was made for teachers, but I use it for Addi. I write down at least two special activities to do each day and then what I'm going to serve her for meals. She is such a picky eater and so I've been finding lots of toddler friendly recipes to put in there. One of our activities this week included a sensory box.

You just fill a tub with dried beans, throw in some measuring cups, bowls, kitchen utensils and let them go to work! Addi loved this activity and played with this box for at least 45 minutes...quietly. It was fun to watch her fill up all the different containers using different tools. You can really see their little minds working.

The other pages in my binder consist a daily routines checklist that is divided into morning and night, a menu plan with shopping list, and a daily planner. I write down what I have to do that day, who I need to call, playdates, appointments. It's just a good way to keep everything together.

I get my printable lists from here: Organized Home

I also found little cleaning schedule cards that I'm going to start using. Normally, I just do all my cleaning on Sunday, but I think it would be better to break it up throughout the week.

This week has been pretty hectic, but I can tell my binder has helped a lot! Hope these ideas help some of you too! :)

The Great Vacation of 2011

Well we are back!!! Back from a week in Branson. Let me just say, despite how much fun we had, I am so glad to be back home and settling back into our routine. The orders have been piling up so after this quick blog post, I gotta get to work! :)

Tuesday

We left that afternoon with Mur and Granddad for Branson. Addi helped me finish up some packing before we left. :)

We stopped and ate at Market Place in Conway on our way. Our mini dessert was SO good!

Addi did so great on the way up! She was pretty happy when we got to the hotel though.

Wednesday

Mur and I did some shopping while Josh and Granddad took Addi swimming. I had been feeling weird starting early that afternoon, but just brushed it off. As soon as we came home from the Landing I started feeling LOTS worse. I laid down for a bit, thinking that would help, but it just kept getting worse. I took some medicine and for awhile I felt a little better, so I thought I would try and go to dinner. It was at an all you can eat crab legs place and I really didn't want to miss. Josh had to drive me straight back and I barely made it back to the room before I started throwing up. I took some more medicine and attempted to sleep it off. I'm sad I missed dinner and everyone else coming in. Addi was in good hands though!

Thursday

I was still feeling sick. Better, but I was pretty knocked out from the medicine I took. Everyone else went to Silver Dollar City. I was SOOO sad to miss this, but Josh said he would take me and Addi back on Saturday. I stayed in bed the whole day and rested.

Thursday night I was feeling well enough to go to dinner. We went to the Dixie Stampede! It was so much fun and Addi LOVED it!!! She is really into horses right now so it was right up her alley.

Friday

The guys went golfing this morning and I was feeling almost 100% better. We decided we were going to get massages later then go out on the lake. I got a call from Josh later and he was feeling sick. NOOOO!!!!! He started throwing up too, so me and Addi hung out in Mur's room alot so he could get some rest. We took the kids to play on this little playground the hotel had.

For dinner, we went to Landry's! Addi was super tired and kind of a handful here! I really missed Josh this night! Haha! Mur started feeling sick at dinner! Luckily, hers just lasted the night and she was better in the morning.

Saturday

Josh was feeling better! Yay! We went to Silver Dollar City and it was a blast!

This is the first picture of all of us and I'm looking like I have been sick!

The rest of the group left this day and it was down to us and Mur and Granddad again. We ate at Fudrucker's for dinner. So good!

Addi stole Granddad's ice cream cone! Haha!

We got her a little purse and she was in heaven!

Sunday

We headed home! We made a pit stop at Larry's Pizza in Conway for lunch and poor Addi had been in the car for so long, she wanted nothing to do with food, she just wanted to play in the arcade! We all took turns playing games with her and when we were done, she had enough tickets to get a candy bracelet and a sucker. She thought the candy bracelet was the greatest invention ever!

Look at how sweet this is. She fell asleep on Josh while watching Nemo. So cute!!!

All in all, it was a great trip. We just could have done without the sickness! :) Hope y'all had a great week!
