Weekend Recap

I can't believe I haven't posted in so long! Ever since I got my embroidery machine back, it seems like the orders are just rolling in again and I'm trying to find that balance again! I do LOVE creating new things and I really did miss my machine while it was gone, so I'm glad to have it back. :)

Thursday

Addi and I went to The Wonder Place with our playgroup! We always have a great time and Addi plays her little heart out!

She LOVES playing with the food area!
Sweet little Eli!

I think a cute little toy kitchen is in her near future!

Addi took a great nap and was so sweet when she woke up.

She LOVES her moo-moo!

Bathtime was especially fun that night. We didn't realize how long Addi's hair was! Haha!

Friday

We headed to Searcy for the day to spend some time with my Uncle Dennis. He has taken care of my Mimi for close to 20 years, and we went through old pictures and talked about our favorite memories of Mimi. Addi just loves Uncle Dennis and she loves his chair! They went for rides around the room, and what was so funny is afterwards, she tried to take him out of the chair like it was her turn! We laughed so hard.

We left Friday night for our annual canoe trip to Heather Hill! We usually go float the Buffalo, but this year the water was so low we couldn't. We did have lots of fun though!

Saturday

Saturday morning, Josh and I got up SUPER early to go to my Mimi's funeral. So nice to remember her and hear my dad talk about her from a son's perspective. It was so sweet and really, my Mimi poured her heart and soul into her children and grandchildren. She was such an inspiration of how a mother and wife should act and serve her family. I miss her so much, but I know I'll see her again one day. :)

After the service, we headed to the Polar Freeze. We grew up going to this tiny little drive in that has been around for 50 years. My dad and his brothers went to this place all the time when they were boys too! They have the BEST cheeseburgers IN. THE. WORLD. Seriously. And the best ketchup. I know that sounds weird, but it just is. Haha! After lunch and visiting for awhile, we headed back to the river and swam for a little while.

Saturday night, we went to bed pretty early by Heather Hill standards. We started telling ghost stories, which I LOVE, and most of the boys fell asleep out of boredom. :( Josh had an incident of sleep walking which was HILARIOUS to hear about the next morning from everyone who witnessed it.

Sunday

Scott and Evan cooked the most delicious breakfast of french toast, bacon, biscuits and Scott's famous sausage gravy. Oh it was so good! We cleaned up and headed back home. We stopped at Coursey's on the way and picked up some yummy smoked turkey and cheese! We couldn't wait to get back to see Addi, which by the way, had a great time with Josh's mom! Addi got to go out to camp to see Emma and Skipper said she had the BEST time out there! She loves being outside, that is for sure!

I am getting ready for a busy week coming up, and Josh and I are going to see Harry Potter on Tuesday!!! I'm so excited!!!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!!

Addi-21 Months

Geez, I am so bad with keeping up with these monthly Addi posts! I am going to stop doing them after she turns two, but for now, Addi is 21 months, about to be 22 months, so better late than never right? :)

Addi, what are you up to these days?

-You have SUCH a big personality. Everywhere we go, people comment on what a character you are. You love to make people laugh and you bring a smile to people's faces when they see you.

-In addition to having such a big personality, you are also very headstrong! You are identical to your Daddy! Such an independent little girl. :) Which, is a wonderful quality to have in life, but makes for hard parenting sometimes. :) I just have to remember to pick my battles with you!

-Your vocabulary has taken off this month. It's so neat to watch you grow and learn every day. It seems like you are picking up a new phrase or new words literally every day. Just last night, we were coming home and Daddy was carrying you and you said, "walk" and he put you down, you walked to the front door, then said, "keys?" and proceeded to try and unlock the door. We were amazed that you know the routine coming home!

-You have started "pretending." Oh my word, this might be my favorite thing right now. I love that you already have a very active imagination! We were playing in your room the other day and I said, "I'm hungry!" You then asked me if I wanted food and you pretended to get some "food" out of your crib then feed me. We died laughing! You also make us pretend we are going "nigh nigh."

-Lately, you just want to be naked. I have caught you sans diaper SEVERAL times now and while hilarious as it is, it's also frightening! You also tell us when you poop and if we give you a wipe, you wipe yourself.

-You are such a momma. In the nursery at church, the workers tell me that if a baby is crying, you go over to them and are really sweet and try to pat them and get them to stop crying. It's so sweet.

-Speaking of nurseries, you are so good about being left there. Last night at VBS when I dropped you off, I got a "bye!" and then you went to play!

-You play so well with others, which I am very thankful for, but part of me is waiting for the terrible two's to come on. I see hints every now and then, like you will take a toy out of someone's hands, and we go and have a little talk. But, for the most part, you are very laid back.

-Eating is still a daily challenge. You HATE veggies, but you will still eat veggie babyfood. Mostly just the squash and sweet potatoes and I found some that have green veggies masked by pears or apples that we are going to try. You love applesauce, yogurt, chicken, sausage balls, waffles, bagel thins, any fruit, any treat like popsicles or brownies, and you are a bread girl. You LOVE biscuits so much!!! Seriously, you ate 4 in one day.

-We figure you weigh around 25 or 26 lbs. Not sure where that is on the charts.

-When leaving somewhere, you always say, "bye!" and "see ya!" So cute.

-You LOVE to dance. We are looking at somewhere to enroll you for dance classes because I just know you will enjoy that so much. Anytime there is music, you are busting a move, and you want to be in front of people when your doing it! Last night at VBS you got so mad because I wouldn't let you go in front of the whole church to dance along with the songs. Haha!!

-You ask to go to the pool about once a day.

-You hate bugs and try to kill them. Anytime you see a picture of a bug, you swat it. You aren't scared of them, but you just want to swat them. I was joking to Josh that I am going to have Addi kill bugs for me now since I'm scared of them.

-Your favorite show right now is Good Luck Charlie. Whenever you hear the theme song, you shout, "Chawlie!" and go watch it. Luckily, it's a hilarious show and I like it too!

-You LOVE to pray. Every night, you say "pray!" and hold out your hands. Daddy prays first, then you pray. It is SOOO sweet because you squint your eyes and mumble some words then shout, "amen!"

We love you so much sweet girl, and I can't believe in just a few months, I will have a two year old!!! It's crazy how time is flying!

Lazy Weekend

Hi everyone! First, I have to say thank you for all the sweet words and prayers. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you know that my Mimi passed away Friday morning. She was the sweetest lady I have ever known. I am working on a post about her with lots of old pictures that I'm also going to turn into a photobook for my family. Her health has been rapidly declining the past year, and she was suffering from Alzheimer's also. I know she's in heaven now and healthy and happy, but it still doesn't feel "real" that she's gone. Her funeral is this coming Saturday.

Lately, when Addi wakes up in the morning, she will ask for "shell." We showed her this youtube video called, Marcel the Shell with shoes on. It's really funny and weird, but she can literally watch it 1,000 times and ask for it again. So on Friday morning, she ate her waffle and watched "shell."

Friday was also dress like a cow day at Chick fil a. It just so happens that Addi had a cow onesie so we went to get free chicken! The line for inside was just ridiculous, so I just said forget it, but the sweet guy at the drive thru saw her onesie and she got her meal free. :)

That night we went out to dinner with Josh's dad and Jeanette. They were in town and missing Addi so we went to Bravo! I got the grilled tilapia that was topped with crab meat with a lemon butter sauce. It was SOOO good. Probably my new favorite meal. When we got back to the house, Addi had a little accident! I had pulled a bunch of tubs out of the attic to go through clothes for Rhea Lana's and put them in the hall when I was done. Well, Addi ran through the hall and since it was dark, she ran right into one of the tubs. :( She has a little bit of a black eye now. It was so sad.

On Saturday, Addi and I did a little baking!

It's safe to say, she really enjoyed getting to mix and pour the ingredients! But, she REALLY enjoyed the finished product!

Josh went and got Addi a little blow up pool since she's always asking to go outside, but it's SO hot, so this will be nice and cool.

Haha! What a good little helper. Once Josh got it blown up, we went outside and literally within a minute, Addi and I were eaten alive by mosquitos. I even put spray on her, but missed a little spot on her back and her face. Needless to say, she got bit right between the eyes. :( Now she has a black eye and a big red spot! Poor thing!

That night, we went to our friend's Brent's house for his birthday party. Addi loved playing in the yard, but it was SOOO hot! We didn't stay out there for very long, because we were pouring sweat within a few minutes!

Addi's sleep schedule has been really out of whack this past week. She's been going to bed just fine, but she will wake up SUPER early, like 5 or 6, then be so cranky I have to put her down after an hour and then she will sleep till noon. Anyways, so Saturday night, she went to bed at 8:30, but then woke up at midnight, then didn't go back to sleep till 2:00! Ugh, then she woke up at 5. I was SO tired, I had Josh get up with her and he put her back down around 6:30, then she slept till 1. So weird, and I'm hoping she adjusts herself soon!

Today has been extremely lazy and nice. We've been in our PJ's all day and watching the Harry Potter marathon on ABC family. Josh told me he decided he wants to watch all the HP movies and I am ecstatic!

I made Addi some frozen banana chocolate pops for a snack today and they made such a mess!

This week is VBS at our church and I am very excited! Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Playdates R' Us

Today, we had our playgroup over for a little playdate! We get together twice a week and it just so happens this week they were back to back! The theme was "appetizers" and I ate SO much it was ridiculous. I don't know about y'all, but I could eat finger foods and appetizer type foods all. day. long. Yum!!!

Addi was a mess all day. Sister didn't go to bed last night until close to 11, because she was "entertaining" our dinner guests. She LOVES to show off and we were cracking up at all the hilarious stuff she was doing. Anyways, I *thought* she would sleep in, but she woke up extra early, and extra cranky! She had a little nap before everyone got there and that helped her mood considerably!

In this picture, she was bossing Dixie I believe!
Time for princess crowns!
Brittan's beauty shop. Looks a little scary. Haha!
Sweet sisters.

Addi was teaching Leyla how to properly handle a bug. Smack it!
Sweet baby hugs.
Flash card time!
Yes, that's a baby doll paci.
Brittan and Lily!
Super girl Brittan!
Addi was having so much fun with Brittan pulling her on that frog.
Sweet Eliot!
Addi was telling Eliot bye. :)
Precious Lily smile.
Sadly, Addi did not take a nap like I expected, so she was in FULL meltdown mode when Josh got home. She went to bed without a fight though, poor thing was worn out! It was such a fun day though!

Hope y'all had a great day!!!
