The Big D

This weekend, we went to Dallas to visit Josh's aunt and uncle and their two precious kids! Kason, their youngest, actually had surgery on his knee right before we got down there! But, you wouldn't have known it, because he was such a trooper. He had to have a piece of wood removed from his knee from where he fell a couple of weekends ago. Poor thing!
We got there Friday night in time for dinner. Me and Josh LOVE this restaurant there called Babe's. It's a family style place where you order one or two things and it's enough for like 10 people! We always get the smoked chicken, oh my word it's so good. They also have really good southern sides and biscuits. I was glad that Mason brought it to the house for us to eat so we didn't have to worry about taking Addi out. Ever since Thursday, I think it might be awhile before I try to take her out to eat again! Haha!

That night, Addi didn't sleep very good at ALL. Oh me, about 4:00, I handed her off to Josh who finally got her to sleep around 5:30. Very exhausting! Saturday morning, Josh took Addi to Kaylie's soccer game and let me sleep for another couple hours. Sweet man! Addi had a lot of fun at the game! Josh said she kinda threw a fit when he wouldn't let her crawl on the grass, but other than that she was good!

When they came back, we decided to put pigtails in Addi's hair!

She wasn't real sure about the pigtails at first!

But she warmed up to them!

Me, Josh and Mason left that afternoon to go to the Arkansas game! Ummmm....that game STRESSED me out! Between the Hogs playing not so great and all the stares from the A&M fans when we yelled, it made me a little nervous! We did get to meet up with Rhen and Michael!

We got to see the new Cowboys stadium too! It was amazing!

Lynda and her mom watched Addi for us while we were at the game. Addi of course was wearing a Hogs outfit to cheer us on!

After the game was over, we rushed to meet Lynda and her mom at the Carrie Underwood concert! The boys didn't go to this one!

The show was so good! We also got to hear Sons of Sylvia and Billy Currington!

Yes that is her in a blue pick up coming out into the audience! Haha!

It was a great concert, but I was exhausted! That night, Addi slept better, she only woke up once around 4 and went straight back to bed. The only thing was, she woke up at 6:40 this morning. A little too early! We stopped in Texarkana for awhile and visited with Mur and Grandad and then headed back home. It was a fun weekend, but I think I may need a day of rest tomorrow! Haha!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

A Burnt Supper Day

Tonight, I burnt the supper. I was getting crazy with throwing something together and got distracted and burned it to pieces. Our whole house smelled like burned food and my eyes were tearing up from the smoke. Addi was exhausted and was only wanting to be held and I was at one of those "overwhelmed" points. It had been a long LONG day and Addi had thrown a major fit while we were having lunch with our friends, Sara and Lola (more on that in a sec) and it just really rattled me. She is definitely coming into the toddler stage of throwing a fit now when she wants to do something! Anyways, so I was incredibly stressed with hurt feelings over having just burned our dinner. Josh was my hero tonight when he went and got Olive Garden take out for dinner, put Addi to bed and made me sit still on the couch and relax and watch our Thursday night shows. My revelation in all this, is we all have "burnt supper" days and sometimes we just need to sit on the couch and watch the Office. Ha ha!

So today, we went to the Wonder Place with our playgroup! Addi had a great time! Sara and Lola came and met us too!

I decided to break out some of Addi's Halloween outfits. This is one that Fran made. I think it's so cute!

Sweet Lily sharing a toy with Addi!

After playing for awhile, we went with Sara and Lola to Panera Bread for some lunch. I just have to say, Lola is such a sweetie. She stayed in her highchair the entire time was just so pleasant! Addi on the other hand, was acting like I was pinching her the whole time! She really wanted to get down and crawl around and go outside, but it was quite warm and I had dressed us for fall weather not thinking, oh it's going to be 90 degrees this afternoon, so I didn't want to melt. Anyways, Addi just cried and threw a fit pretty much the whole lunch. This is the first time this has happened and it really shook me up! I was pretty embarrassed! I'm sorry Sara that we didn't get to talk much!!! Haha! When we got home, Addi took a good nap for me thank goodness! When she woke up we went outside and sat on the swing, and Addi pointed to things and asked what they were. I do have to brag on her for a little bit. Two days ago, we were sitting on the swing and our neighbor left. As her car pulled away, Addi waved and said bye. Well this morning and this afternoon, Addi has looked over at the neighbor's house and waved and said bye! She remembers!!! I thought that was so crazy!!! Haha!

I hope y'all had a great day!

The past few days...

On Monday afternoon, Josh came home from work a little early and we took Addi and Dixie to the park by our house before dinner. The weather was beautiful! Addi had such a great time being outside, I think that may be her favorite place!

On Tuesday, we had Addi's nutrition appointment at Children's. That was her last one until she's 18 months!!! We got to pick what gift card we wanted at this visit, the choices were: Target, Starbucks, or Bath and Body Works. I realllllyyyy wanted the Starbucks card, but Josh was sitting in there with me and he gave me one of "those" looks, so I said Target. But it's not a huge loss, because our Target has a Starbucks! When we got home, Addi wanted to go outside, she points to the door now and cries if we don't take her out. Anyways, so while we were outside, she started acting like she was taking pieces of Dixie's fur and then putting them in her mouth! She thinks it's HILARIOUS! I have videos but can't upload them for some reason! I will try again tomorrow on a different camera.

Today, we had Addi's one year doctor's appointment, which meant...shots. :( Addi usually does so good with shots, but I had heard that the one year shots are particularly bad for some reason so I was kinda dreading them. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a trooper Addi was! Our nurse remembered Addi from her 6 month visit and commented, "oh I just love her! She is always so good." Made me so proud! Anyways, so Addi only cried for a little bit after her shots, she was easily distracted by her new Nemo book (thank you Michelle!!!) and even gave the nurse a smile and a wave on her way out. :)

When we got home, I decided to put Addi's hair in a ponytail. It's plenty long enough for a cute little side pony. I really want to do pigtails now!

Oh and this is Addi's "kiss" face. Haha!

Hope y'all had a great day!!!!

Addi-12 Months!!!

Addi you are one year old!!!! What are you up to?

-You weigh 19 lbs. 12 oz. (You weighed exactly 20 lbs. when we took you to the E.R. last week, so you lost some weight while you were sick.)

-You are 28 1/2 inches long.

-You are in size 4 diapers.

-You wear 12-18 month clothes.

-You favorite foods are chicken nuggets, yogurt, any kind of fruit, goldfish, teddy grahams, and a new fav: marshmallows!

-You are still my happy, friendly little girl, you are so outgoing!

-You talk all the time! You are always babbling to yourself, and you like to hold up something and say, "this?" or point at things and say, "that?"

-You are SOOOOO close to walking! Tonight you stood by yourself a lot! We are working on getting you to take a step, I think once you take one step, you will be off and running!

-Dixie is still your best friend. You love to "pet" her and point out where her nose and eyes are.

-You love your baby dolls and you are so sweet when you hold them. You squeeze them real tight and "pet" them on the head.

-You have thrown one tantrum so far. You really wanted to get in your drawers before bed and we wouldn't let you so you just bawled up your fists and yelled! Thankfully, you are easily distracted so it didn't last too long!

-You LOVE being outside. The weather has been so wonderful so we have been outside a lot.

-You are on whole milk exclusively and you drink about 16 oz. a day.

-Your sleep schedule is back to 12 hours a night. Yay!

We love you so much Addi! I can't believe you are a year old!!!

Fall is here!

Hi everyone! Gosh, I don't know about y'all, but our weekend just went by SO fast. It was such a great/low-key weekend. For starters, we had wonderful, AMAZING fall weather! In the mornings it was crisp and chilly, and by the afternoon it was pretty warm, but not real hot. Today however, it stayed cool all day! So exciting!!!
Saturday morning, we started out by having breakfast in the kitchen, but then moved outside to the swing to enjoy the weather.

Addi is back to her normal, healthy, fun self and was just a joy to be around. She napped so good for us, her nighttime sleep is still a little messed up, but hopefully that will go back to normal soon. We just found out she is getting one of her front teeth! It's poked through, so maybe that has been the culprit!
We also had a visit from Jeanette and the kids on Saturday afternoon!

Addi kept biting her finger and then laughing everytime we would say, "don't bite your finger!" Oh me.

Addi loves more than anything to go through her diaper bag and pull out stuff. She holds up whatever item that she has grabbed and goes, "this?" and I tell her what it is. I can't believe she's getting so big!

On Sunday, we had a very lazy day. Josh was in Searcy that morning, and Addi had gone to bed pretty late Saturday night, so I felt a lazy/pajama day was in order.

I'm so happy my little pumpkin is feeling better and back to her old playful self!!!

Oh and I made this for dinner.

This is one of Josh's favorite meals and one of mine too! It's super easy and so delicious. I posted the recipe here.

I hope y'all had a great weekend and are enjoying this wonderful fall weather!

Exciting Things

1. Addi is feeling much better, as am I. Praise the Lord! I thought this sickness would never pass!

2. I got picked to be a writer for Southern Momma Bloggers! Each Tuesday I will post a recipe for their "Southern Foodie" section and be featured on their website! I am BEYOND excited!!!

3. Fall is here finally!!!! Me and Addi went out on the back porch several times today to swing, she loves being outside!

4. Okay so I had this idea. I may be a dork, but who would be interested in doing this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ghost stories. During the month of October, a local radio station does what is called, Thriller Thursdays. People call in or email their ghost stories and the scariest one wins something. I think it would be so much fun if people could submit their stories every Thursday or Friday (Freaky Friday?) and then I will pick the scariest one of that week. What do y'all think? Am I a dork? Haha!

5. It's the weekend!!!!!!!!

Hope y'all have a great one!
